SHOPAHOLICS ONE DAY AT A TIME (SUNDAY, MARCH 24th)

Good Morning!  As predicted, it is cool and rainy here (off and on).  Hope the weather is okay where you live.

The solo travelers meeting was interesting, but I'm not sure that I will be traveling with any of them.  There did seem some interest in going on a river cruise in Europe which I am considering.

I learned about a cellphone tether that I will probably try.  Apparently, thieves (particularly in the UK and Italy) are grabbing cell phones right out of peoples hands when they are taking pictures, etc. in tourist areas.  These tethers (they come with retractable cords) can help solve this problem.  While I am not traveling anytime soon, I like the idea of having the phone where I don't drop or lose it.

Waves to Fressa, Glenda, Bernie, Susan, Barbara, and all of our posters and readers.  Hope everyone has a nice Palm Sunday.  Please post if you have a chance.

Hugs,

Linda

Re: SHOPAHOLICS ONE DAY AT A TIME (SUNDAY, MARCH 24th)

Hi Everyone!

Today is sunny and cold. YIPPEE!! Perfet weather for us. Hope everyone else has imprved weather for their area. I think we all could with a few less wind gusts.

LindaLatee--Thanks for the update on Jean.

I've been curious abut those river boat cruises. I can't travle anymore but those realycaught my eye. The cell phone tether item certainly sounds like a help with the theft. I don't know what elese you could do or use to give you an edge.

The solo travelers group idea sounds interesting. I  had a friend who loved cruises and she was always looking for a "buddy" to share a larger size room on the ship.

This morning Thor and I fell on the stairway to the family room. It was one of those "freak" situations. He always "stay" or "go" but I guess he really wanted poptarts. He came under me and I held on to the railing.I didn't fall but he slipped on his back paws. We both are fine and had poptarts.

The planters that I ordered from Kohl's are the larger version of the Philip Watson whiskey barrel. Very nice and will work well for the rose bushes. They were on sale with coupon, etc. Now I'm ready for when they ship.. Hopefully, I'll be able to see what is returning in the gardens and what isn't before everything arrives. I do much better with containers than the soil that we have around here. I wish I would have thought about this years ago.

Have a good afternoon/evening.

Re: SHOPAHOLICS ONE DAY AT A TIME (SUNDAY, MARCH 24th)

Linda L, we had an inch of snow on the hot tub two days ago. It was a nice sunny day yesterday, but it's windy right now.  Your travels seem so interesting. I would love to go on a one day river cruise about an hour away from us down the Mississippi River.  Dinner and overnight.  I don't have a cell phone, but I am considering getting a trac phone before our next road trip.  Good luck with wherever you decide to do about not getting your phone snatched out of your hand.

Fressa, I think those barrel planters look so nice.   I don't put a lot of things outside as I try to make it easy for my dh to mow the lawn.  I do have tulips along both sides of the driveway and under the picture window.  Sorry about your fall.

My knee isn't as sore as it was a couple of days ago,  but I am using a heating pad.   I didn't go to church this morning as there are two sets of steps.

We just got groceries so I am all ready for our Easter lunch next Saturday.  I signed up for an egg dish to take to our church Easter brunch next Sunday morning which I haven't made for a long time, so I will be putting it together tonight and baking it for breakfast.   tomorrow to see how it turns out & if I have to make any adjustments to it.🤔🤔🤔

I am hoping for a nice sunny day next Saturday.  My dh is going to do an Easter egg hunt and I prefer it to be outside.

I bought a couple of Easter cards, as I am not sure if our oldest dgs will be able to come &  our dgd will not be here.  Kind of makes me sad, but she is doing well in the NAVY. Her new assignment is TUSC (Theatre Undersea Surveillance Center).

She is going to start community college classes next month, so she will be busy.   5 day work one week and two days the next week.

Tomorrow morning my dh has an appt with his new oncology Dr for a first time visit to get to know each other.  Just in case he needs to see him down the road.  Euchre at noon.

On Tuesday, my dh has an appt with the podiatrist.  First time so I hope it is a good one.

On Wednesday, I have my next PT session.   I have been doing the exercises twice a day. It seems like I am doing them off and on all day long when I go to the gym 3-4 days a week.  If my tennis elbow gets better, I will be a happy camper.

The Celebration of Life yesterday was a very nice service.  She was 49 years old and had quite a few problems, so she is now at peace. She would have been 50 years old on 01/03/24. It was nice to see her Mom as we hadn't seen each other for quite a while.

Hugs to all of you.

Glenda

Thanks for keeping us in the loop about Jean @LindaLatte

Given some of the expensive phones that are out there, I'm not surprised that thieves have decided to try to snatch them.  Can't even have a phone, smh.

I'm sorry that you and Thor fell down.  I like poptarts too so I understand what was on Thor's mind.  @Fressa

Re: SHOPAHOLICS ONE DAY AT A TIME (SUNDAY, MARCH 24th)

Hi Everyone!

Today is cold, cloudy and rainy. Big difference from yesterday. It looks like the weather is all over the place from the map on Weather Channel. At least this rain is giving me a good view of what is trying to return and where the bare spots are in a few of the gardens.

I did a quick trip to the supermarket for eggs, creamer, etc. I have to make a second trip for pantry items and produce. Hopefully that will happen tomorrow. I did a few more loads of laundry today and paid a few bills.

twinny70---Crossing my fingers for good reports from both of your medical appointments.

LindaLatte--I purchased a cell hone cross body phone case on QVC in the after Christmas sales. I think it was Aimee Kesingburg but it holds credit cards, and id info and plenty of room for the phone. Thought this might be another option for you to consider if you travel.

Have a good afternoon/evening.

Re: SHOPAHOLICS ONE DAY AT A TIME (SUNDAY, MARCH 24th)

Good Evening!  Hope your and your DH's medical appointments go well, Glenda.

At least you got some of the groceries, Fressa.  Pretty crazy weather in various areas of the country. It was rainy, windy, and cool here yesterday, and windy and cool today.  They are saying that it will warm up again on Thursday.

Although I lived most of my life in Maryland, I rarely went to Baltimore (I lived near DC).  But, the bridge collapse this morning was really awful.  In addition to the loss of life, the bridge was on a heavily used highway and the port was also one of the busiest in the country.

Today was the day my second DGS (who lives in Maryland) was having his pipes replaced.  DD told me that he found that one of them didn't need to be replaced -- at least a little good news.

While I don't have any travel plans, I went ahead and ordered the tether and retractable cord the travel group lady suggested.  Not expensive.  I have a small crossbody phone bag (not fancy) with slots for cards, etc., Fressa.  But, I would need to take the phone out to take pictures, etc.  That is why I decided to order this device.

The senior lunch program was busy, but went pretty well today, and after lunch I had my hair cut.  The gym was pretty crowded by the time I arrived, but not bad at all when I left.

Jean has not posted anything about her procedure on FB, but I will let you know when she does.

Barbara posted on FB that after her latest fall and hospitalization, she and her family have decided it is time to move back closer to them.  Her apartment will be ready next Monday.  She hasn't sold her Arizona house yet, but she knows that will happen.

Waves to Fressa, Glenda, Bernie, Susan, Barbara, and all of our posters and readers.

Hope everyone sleeps well.

Hugs,

Linda

Just read a comment on FB -- Jean is still in the hospital.  Her procedure is on hold, and she is supposed to have a stress test done today.

Re: SHOPAHOLICS ONE DAY AT A TIME (SUNDAY, MARCH 24th)

LindaLatte-- Sorry to hear about Barbara. I will keep her in my prayers. Goo dnews that her apartment will be ready soon. Crossing my fingers that her home sells sooner than later. It's only starting to be the season up here for home sales.

One less pipe to replace is always a good thing. Plumbing is always a big expense. I'm still "sticker shocked" over the $1000's for the gas line we had to replace 6 years ago. UGH!!

Today is partly cloudy and cold. Hopefully we won't have rain today as the ground is still muddy from the prior days. The township has been doing some major work on the water tower for weeks. Hopefully, they are getting close to the end as the noise level is improving.

I did cave and ordered a Dynatrap when it was a TSV. I swear by these for our yard. I'm hoping it will save a few more $ on the electric bill. I'm going to relocate one or two of them considering where we had the 2 in ground hives last season. So far, those areas look "safe" for this season. Crossing my fingers.

Have a good afternoon/evening.
