Re: SHOPAHOLICS ONE DAY AT A TIME SUNDAY, June 09th, 2024)

greetings from Grand Forks where it is all of 74 at 5 o'clock in the evening. I cannot imagine winter lol

still hope to be able to get down to Arizona for a little while,

I had to have a come to Jesus meeting with myself today because I was so down about everything that needs to be done that I can't do so talk to Amie's mother-in-law who is becoming a good friend of mine and she kind of called me down and she's going to come down next week,

Sydnie arrives Saturday and hopefully she will be a big help

I ordered some storage pieces from Wayfair my favorite place to shop because they have good quality, good sales and the pieces that I've gotten are very nice

that will settle me down because now I have places to put some things

I cannot get into a rheumatologist for months, so I am going to see my doctor in Minneapolis in August going, and hopefully he can coordinate with my PCP here

sound like a lot of fun today lol sorry

on a brighter note my rather expensive bed arrived and I woke up with very little back pain this morning that is helpful because at least I can do things for a couple of hours

Bernie is so sad that people who are injured have to wait a long time to see a doctor, but you are a strong woman, and in my prayers,

Fresa seems like you have beautiful flowers that will be coming pretty soon. I do miss planting and gardening, but those days are definitely over. I wish they had a community garden here. I may bring that up the meeting next week,

Glenda, hope your infusion went well. I am going to be waiting quite a long time for mine🤬 You and your DH have such fun times

Linda hope your back gets better. I really believe in these oils that I use if you're interested, let me know and I can give you the information.. I was having spasms and rather than take a pain pill. I took two Tylenol and rubbed my pain and aches oil on my lower back, sat with the heating pad and I am good right now. Stress can do a lot of bad things to your body, my biggest issue besides, the pain is not him any appetite lost another 5 pounds.. I need to work on that

the heat in Phoenix is not good. I talk to my friends and they are really suffering so I guess I'd rather be cold up here lol

a wonderful evening I enjoy all of your posts hugs and prayers to all of you

Re: SHOPAHOLICS ONE DAY AT A TIME SUNDAY, June 09th, 2024)

Prayers to all of you with a lot of different problems.  My infusion went good on Monday.   My only side effect is fatigue for a day or two.

Linda L,  we are in the 80's which I don't enjoy.  I am like you.  When I see a "cool car,"

I wave or compliment them.

Fressa, your place must be beautiful. It will nice when it's all done.  I am having problems with one of the tomato plants we put in last week.  We have had a lot of rain and high winds too.

Bird Mama, bruising is not fun and it can last  a long time.  My Dr. said if I got a red stripe down the back of my leg or the swelling got worse to call him.

Sydsgma1, it will be a nice help when Sydney can help you with the move.  We don't travel as much as we used to, but we still enjoy a nice road trip.   I thank God every day that I can get out of bed and walk.

As they say "things come in three's.  We were supposed to get a bad thunderstorm early this morning.  I woke up at 5:30 a.m. & thought it was the garbage trucks.  It was non stop rumbling with a little bit of rain.

1)  I went on my tablet at 8:00 a.m this morning only to see the worst message ever. Some very good friends of ours whom live in the country had their beautiful home struck with lightening early this morning and lost everything.  Thank God they got out alive.  They will have a lot of family & church support, but it has to be gut wrenching to hear the news.

2) I turned on the A/C this morning only to discover that it didn't turn on.  Luckily our 83 y/o neighbor across the street  put  in the last thermostat 4 years ago and it needed to be replaced.  That got done this afternoon.

3)  We had to get a second estimate this morning on the hail damage to our Subaru.  It will cost about $5,100 to get it fixed, but they have a good reputation.  The work hopefully starts next Monday for a week and we will get a rental car.  Our deductible is $500.

We are going on a day trip tomorrow to the "World's Largest Truck Stop" in IA.  We were there a few years ago, but it's a fun place.  Nice restaurant and lots of shops in the area.

I am almost done with washing the windows.   It's going to be too hot for at least  the next 10 days so I am waiting for it to cool off a bit.

Hugs to all of you.

Glenda

Re: SHOPAHOLICS ONE DAY AT A TIME SUNDAY, June 09th, 2024)

Glad to hear from you Barbara.  Praying that things improve for you.  I'm sure visits from Sydnie and Amie's mother-in-law will be nice.  Hope you can gain some weight.  One of my hospice patients has that problem, and I'm always bringing her treats like cookies and crackers, etc.  If you like something like ice cream or pastries, it might be good to have it around.  Perhaps not the healthiest food, but might help with your appetite.

It is so frustrating when you can't see a doctor when you need to do so.  Long story, but my SIL's CPAP machine broke, and he was told he needs to have another sleep study before getting a new one.  It is a very serious issue for him, and the earliest sleep study he could get was for the end of August.

Great to hear from you as well, Glenda.  Sorry about your friend's home burning down, etc., etc.  Sometimes the bad news just keeps on coming.  Hope you have a fun road trip tomorrow and your car will be as good as new after the repairs are made.

Hot again today, but it wasn't too bad on my early morning walk.  After breakfast, I delivered hospice supplies and then worked in the hospice office for a few hours.  After a late lunch, I went to the gym and then back to the hospice office for an hour.  I'm very happy that we have caught up with a huge backlog of filing, etc.  Starting next week, I plan to work fewer days/hours which should help me reduce the stress.

I saw Mary Beth's announcement -- she is retiring but not until next March.  Nice lady.  I met her when I attended a 50/50 show (QVC went to all 50 States) in 1995.  I don't  watch that much of the Q these days, but enjoy her.

Waves to Barbara, Glenda, Fressa, Bernie, Susan, and all of our posters and readers.

Have a nice Friday!

Hugs,

Linda

Re: SHOPAHOLICS ONE DAY AT A TIME SUNDAY, June 09th, 2024)

sydsgma1---Nice to see your post. I was never good at pacing myself when it came to a move. It drove me crazy until it was unpacked. Please pace yourself.(I'm still learning how to do this. LOL) Eventually.,,,it will all get done. So nice that you will have help in the next couple of weeks.

I just started to check out the Wayfair site. I'm glad you've had luck with them. I was searching for birdbaths and outside strorage. We have an At Home store here which is growing on me. I've been happy with the items I found there.

It does seem like the doctor visit is going backwards instead of growing. It can be frustrating when you have an injury or condition. I wish I could drop a few pounds but considering how little I eat I'm amazed that I gain. IMy ststem has issues with processing food so it's always a guesing game of what to eat. I have learned that potato and cheesecake always digest. YIPPEE!  I try to keep a few of those items on hand to h elp with the issue. Hope you get some relief sooner than later.

Glad your new bed is working for you. A good bed, mattress and pillow are so important. IMO  Once in a while we need to treat ourselves.

Re: SHOPAHOLICS ONE DAY AT A TIME SUNDAY, June 09th, 2024)

twinny70---Sorry to hear about your good friends house fire. So tragic but thankful they have some help on the way. In the blink of an eye your life can change. Weather can be so dangerous.

You were fortunate that your neighbor was able to replace the thermostat. A/C is cruitial in these temperature zones. I know our A/C company said they had 2 pages of emergency calls in addition to all the install and regular maintainence appointments.

You have such great road trips. It will be nice when your Subaru is repaired. Insurance just doesn't seem like it's working as well as it should these days. I guess $500 is better than $50 but still...

I got started with the window cleaning here but then go side tracked with other projects. Now...I'll have to start all over again bevause they look like they all need  it. UGH!!

Re: SHOPAHOLICS ONE DAY AT A TIME SUNDAY, June 09th, 2024)

LindaLatte---Good to hear that you are getting a little relief for your pain. Hopefully, with your revised plan of duties you'll see more resluts.

The weather forecast has posted an extreme heat warning starting on Sunday thru the middle of next week. It sounds like some of the weather that others have had this week. Crossing my fingers that the tomatoes and flowers tolerate it.

I tuned in QVC to the last bit of MaryBeth taling about her retirement. She's not leaving until March 2025 because they talked her into staying 6 months longer. Hope she enjoys all those grandchildren. What fun!!!

The final A/C check for the new install went well and was quick. Now, I'll breathe a sigh of relief. Next week I'll schedule the next big item on the list. Fingers crossed that's all there is for this year. These items stress me out with the costs but then so does $5 for butter.
