Hi Everyone!
MERRY CHRISTMAS! HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
Hope everyone is safe from the weather. It's still very cold, snowing and icy with wind gusts. I'm thinking today will be a bit better since the ice melt on the driveway is thawing some icy spots and the birds and deer are around.
I did watch some of the Q last night and the clearance sales were pretty decent. I wish they would have had a few of those before the holidays but less of a temptation for me now. (that's a good thing)
I did notice that the new lazer stick lighter that I ordered works great for the Slatkin candles. The wicks are a bit different than years ago and this lighter works better for them. No more burning the fingers or clicking that other gadget until you're finger turns red.
Stay safe and warm.

Good Afternoon and Merry Christmas! Thanks for getting us started, Fressa. It was in the mid 30's when I got up, but they are predicting a high of 70 degrees today. I know most of the country is very cold, and hope everyone stays safe and warm.
Church was nice this morning, and I just got off the phone with DD and my SIL. He kept the space heater on last night, and the pipes didn't freeze. It should get warmer later in the week.
My oldest DGS, his wife, and tiny dog were supposed to fly from Utah to Maryland today to visit with her family before flying down to visit DD and the rest of the family in SC on New Year's Eve. He and his wife had cleaned out the refrigerator in anticipation of going away. As of yesterday, their flights were fine, but last night they were canceled. The only alternative given was for December 28th. I don't know if they will go then or not, but it was a huge disappointment. Due to the lack of food in the house, they decided to go out for Chinese and then to a movie. Yikes.
On the positive side, youngest DGS worked all day yesterday and planned to work today. But, his boss said that they will get paid extra but have the day off. So, he will be joining the family for Christmas.
DD gave me a cute red teapot, several types of tea, and some gingerbread cookies for Christmas. So, I had one of the teas this morning -- very nice.
I didn't order the lighters offered here since it was a set of two, but I ordered something similar from Amazon which I have been using to light my candles. I agree with you, Fressa -- they work better than the regular lighters.
Waves to all of our posters and readers. Hope you enjoy this special day.
Hugs,
Linda

Fressa, we were very lucky to get 3" of light fluffy snow as we had a wind advisory for a few days ending at 10 yesterday morning. It's cold but sunny so the hot tub was nice. I haven't watched much of the Q other than a few minutes here and there so I haven't been enticed to buy anything.
Linda L, I am not a tea drinker like my Mom was & my mil is, but my mil has a few beautiful China tea sets that were made in the UK a long time ago. That's too bad about your dgs, his wife and little dog having travel problems. Good news about your other dgs working yesterday and getting paid more for it. I hope that Jean is doing better.
I was sorry to hear about Nick Chavez (sp)? passing away. I had a few of his products and liked them.
Church was good this morning and so were the bar b cue ribs that we had for lunch.
We got some very nice things for Christmas from our family member's. Slippers for me and a nice jacket for my dh. Of course a couple of decks of cards which I request every year. One from Dublin and the other one was from Amsterdam. Gift cards for eating out at some nice restaurants. Can't forget about the different bags of flavored coffee for me and cashews for my dh from our dgc. They have good taste.
I didn't like the insulated cups that I bought for my dh, so I am taking them back and letting him choose what he wants. I will be looking for a new blender at the same time. One of these days we will venture out of town again.
We are supposed to get an inch of snow tomorrow night. Then several days of 40's & rain. Yuck as the snow will melt and it will be hard on tourism.
I just found out that our nephew whom has been a meteorologist in Paducah for quite a while took a good job in Ohio. Two hours closer to home, but I am sure he will miss my niece and her family as they got together a lot.
Hugs to all of you.
Glenda

Merry Christmas ladies, hope all is well.
Fressa - Thank you for starting us today. I am trying not to buy anything from the Q, I did send a couple things back. I just decided I really did not them. My resolution for next year is to quit buying "stuff" I really do not need.
Bernie - We have a whole house genterator and we love it. We had one at our old house and we did use it a couple times. Around our area the power lines are under ground, so that does help with power outages.
Linda - I envy your temperatures, we were minus 10 at least (I quit looking early in the day). I have to admit we have not had this bad of temps for a long time, so I guess I will just suck it up and deal with it.
We are having our open house for DH's side tomorrow, wish me luck. I think I am ready for 2023, I am hoping for a better year.
Off to catch some news. Hope everyone had a great day!!
