Good morning, shopping friends I must have been exhausted as I slept late this morning, getting a late start on AM Style. I did like the QF Big Deal so it is coming home to me in the black and azalea pink combo. The price is good for a set of two and based upon the experience I have had with a prior set, I chose to buy.
I went to town and got the mail as I expected a check from my niece for her ticket to Puerto Rico next Spring over the break. She works in a department in which there are four people to schedule over the 24 hours, so it is first come first serve on vacation requests so planning early is important especially when a good ticket price is found. It will be three years this Fall since we have been to Puerto Rico.
I did get in the minimum exercise and am heading toward getting in the 10,000 steps or more. This afternoon, I will be making room in the trunk for the donations I plan to take tomorrow, and then fill with items from Lowes.
Now, that we have sun I can get some work done. I plan to hire someone to wash and paint the deck. I last did it 5 years ago and I know based upon how I felt then with the new heart issue that I would rather pay someone than to spend the two or three days required to do it. The Lowes purchase will be a gallon of deck wash and 3 gallon of paint and preservative for the deck. It isn't as exciting as a trip or purchasing clothes but it is something that needs to be done.
Have a great day. If you shop, shop wisely....and take time to post and let us know how you are doing. meallen--we miss your graphics and comments, and there are others as well! Enjoy!!

Jean, we slept in longer than normal Thursday and yesterday. It's extra nice and cool & dark in the guest bedroom. Next week it will be our guest bedroom. I am glad that you got your expected mail and can go to PR with your niece. I am glad that weather is cooperating so that you can get your deck done. Enjoy your new AT clothes.
Bird Mama, where are you??? I think that I hearted you on ams, but when I came back there were 20+ more posts already. Just don't send me your hot weather. I can't get rid of ours quickly enough. If it snowed tomorrow, I would be happy!
I got up at 6:00 & did as little as possible. It was 75° in the house and when it hits 76° the central A.C. kicks in. Now it's very nice in here.
I rode my moped downtown to the post office to mail a sympathy card to my 2nd cousin in CA,s wife. He was born and raised in our town, but moved to FL many years ago to get into the real estate industry. Then it was on to CA where he developed the town that they live in on a mountaintop. We took our 2 dc their in 1992 & they were wonderful hosts to us. He did own the Seattle Seahawks many years ago. He was 91 & a first cousin to my dad. The last time we saw him and his wife was 3 years ago when they came back for their 70th class reunion. It was a fabulous evening and his wife was always so charming and down to earth.
Then I went to the library. No walking for me when it's this hot outdoors. Then I went down to where I ordered the cheese & sausage tray & they don't have purple, so I am just going to leave the decorations royal blue and silver. Yesterday when I ordered the tray I told the lady that the school colors were blue and white. Then my DH told me to email our dd because he thought that they were purple and white. I am color blind and didn't realize that the dgc had been wearing purple all of these years.
Lunch is a ham salad sandwich, chips and Crystal Lite. It's too hot to cook.
Tonight we are going to a benefit 3 small towns away. We don't know the family personally, but they were in a horrific car accident in March and we want to support them.
It's even too hot to hot tub. Late afternoon or before lunch works out best right now.
I am going to have a lazy day.
Hugs to all of you.

Hello ladies, thanks for starting Jean..good for you in getting your steps in every day. I have not seen the big deal yet, I don’t think I have any quacker factory items. I remember when Jean used to have sv with a few tee shirts and a straw beach bag I had purchased several of them. It’s sunny on off today and I am getting alerts for severe storms ,get this fternoon and tomorrow too but promises not to be a wash out weekend.
Not much else going on here.. Yanks and dreaded Red Sox are in London this weekend playing. 2 game series over there..they will be coming on at 1 pm our time and tomorrow at 10am our time so I will be watching. There really isn’t too much interest in American baseball over there but the stadium will be full I guess....I think their baseball is cricket. I think every year different American teams go over there..this year the Yanks and Red Sox. turn. They just had a nice rendition of our National Anthem......then followed by God Save the Queen. Have a. day day everyone ...... Marijane

Hello Jean @KonaKat I was up at 6:45 getting my coffee ready for AM Style and then I saw that another host was on again in her place today. I changed the channel and watched something else for a little while.
Boy did we get some rain yesterday, almost out of the blue. It was coming down pretty heavy for about 15 minutes. It appears that I didn't get to the silver maple trimming early enough this year because I could tell there's something in the second story gutter that is causing some oversplashing in a couple of places.
When it cools off, I'll get on the ladder and clear the gutter. At least this year I have a long extension pole that I can tape some kind of scoop to. I shouldn't have to go as high up this year as I did last year.

Hey @twinny70 I was notified on facebook that a new "Peach and Black" podcast was available so I wandered offline and listened to that for 2 1/2 hours. This podcast has been around 10 years and is produced by 4 guys from Australia. It's Prince (musical artist) related content and they were reviewing the newest album that came out. I love these guys - they are honest about their opinions, good and bad, so I look forward to their podcasts.
You are busy, busy, busy. Be careful in this ungodly heat. Like I said before, summer to me is breezy and mid seventies. Once it hits 80 some degrees and gets humid..... uh no thank you ![]()

Hi Marijane @Genny1 We may or may not get rain this weekend. I think the weather people are saying storms can pop up at any time. I know the sudden downpour of rain took me by surprise yesterday. The way I see it, the grass, shrubs and trees needed it. The ground really drank it in - there wasn't much running off the sidewalks.

The sunburn on my right arm finally started peeling this morning so, like a 5 year, I peeled what I could this morning. I've since taken a nice soak in some Philosophy Unconditional Love and exfoliated. That should end all itching. I'm glad I had some aquaphor in the house. I'm almost out and need to add that to my shopping list for the next time I hit the store.
I think I better put the sunscreen on my bathroom vanity instead of leaving the new bottle under the sink. Out of sight, out of mind.

Good Morning/Afternoon and thanks for getting us started, Jean. I'm sure you needed the extra sleep, and I'm glad you made it up in time to see the QF TSV of interest. Funny thing, I just saw them a minute ago, and I'm seriously considering a purchase. Not sure if I'll indulge or not, but I thought they were pretty reasonably priced for two plus I have had good luck with some QF items including a dress I wore last week.
Hope you and your niece have a fun trip to PR. I remember that you enjoyed the trip three years ago. Time flies.
Probably a wise idea to hire someone to wash and paint the deck. DD will be doing that as well since she needed to wait a while for the new deck to "cure" or something, and she is busy with other house projects, like painting. None of the kids were interested, so I think she is asking them to kick in toward the cost of hiring someone. Wonder if you will find other things at Lowe's that are calling your name. Like Bernie, HD and Lowe's can be very tempting places to shop.
Another hot day here so I went for my walk a bit earlier than normal. It was still okay when I got home, but time to close up the windows. It was already in the 70's when I got up at 5:30 a.m. and headed to 105 or so.
I need to do my regular Saturday chores plus go to Sprouts for produce. There was just not time yesterday afternoon after my trip.
One of my friends who is away from the area until next January (mostly in CA) called this morning, and we had a nice talk. Her energy amazes me given some health issues plus her age (85).
Waves to all of our posters and readers and have a nice day!
Hugs,
Linda

Twinny--Getting up early really helps you to get things done before the heat sets in. You have an amazing amount of energy and really fill the day with activity but it is activity you enjoy! I need your infusion of energy.
Linda--I thought the pricing was very reasonable for the QF Big Deal. In addition, I like the elbow length sleeves. I'm getting too old to do big activities like the big deck redo so I'd rather pay than possibly suffer or have a health backset. I hope DD's deck turns out well.
Marijane--Enjoy the sports being televised from London. There definitely is a difference in preference for sports between the two countries. I don't indulge in QF that has too much glitter but I do remember those summer sets that came in a bag.
Bernie--I am very familiar with "out of sight out of mind." I had a practice of buying things on sale to use when needed but then would forget I had purchased them because I had stored them away. I needed to list purchases on a computer program and refer to it often. Peeling? My finger which was bitten by the cat is peeling, and I've been helping it.
I'm about out of checks which I rarely use but I ordered some to have when needed. Right now, I'm ready for my hour with a book before I do something else.

Marijane, my DH is watching the dreaded Red Sox & Yankees in London. I don't know much about Cricket except it's very popular over there. Enjoy th 🌞🌞🌞. We are supposed to get rain tonight & tomorrow.
Bird Mama, I don't go any higher than 2 steps on a step ladder. I value my life too much & I am a big chicken.d
Before lunch I went to the Outlet Store because it was cool in there. I was up in clothing & shoes when a lady asked me if the shoes she had on in a pale golden color matched the long light lime green long dress with lace insets that she was holding up mstched. I told her yes. The dress & shoes together came to $43. I asked her where she was going & she said to a wedding in Lake Geneva this afternoon. Then she told me that she saw the dress & shoes yesterday & was thinking about it.
I don't go outside after 12:00 because it's too hot for me.
I had a nice time with my bf yesterday. Right Now she has her hands full with her post up dh. My DH had a good visit with her dh and told him that he needs to listen to the caretaker. He goes for a follow-up on Monday for his rotator cuff surgery done last Monday. My friend is afraid that he has messed up the surgery by doing everything that the Ortho Dr told him not to & then some.
The Ortho Dr. wanted him to go to the local nursing home in their hometown for a week or two & he vehemently opposed the idea.
Nothing exciting going on around here today. Next week will be action packed.
