SHOPAHOLICS ONE DAY AT A TIME (SATURDAY, JUNE 25th)

Good Afternoon/Evening!  It is 99 degrees and sunny here.  It was okay on my early morning walk, but already starting to get a bit hotter than I would like.

Good idea to get a second opinion on your spinal stenosis diagnosis, Glenda.  Hope there is a way to reduce the pain without surgery, etc.  I have never had an MRI, but I remember that my Mom couldn't stand the MRI, and they allowed her to get out.  They gave her a Valium when we returned, and I decided I would just ask for a Valium if I ever had an MRI.

I haven't been watching the Christmas programming here, which is probably a good thing.  I can be tempted by lights, so I'm trying to avoid buying more.

My laundry is done, and I did an exercise DVD before lunch.  Next is a little cooking and then my weekly financial review.

Waves to all of our posters and readers.  Hope everyone sleeps well.  Please post if you have a chance.

Hugs,

Linda

Re: SHOPAHOLICS ONE DAY AT A TIME (SATURDAY, JUNE 25th)

greetings...Our weather in the Valley of the Sun has been a bit warmer than LindAs. Yesterday is ws 110...today is 107. My oldest dad is here to visit her dad and she said even though, the temp is high..it does not feel as hot as in Mn.

Glenda..I am so sorry you have spinal stenosis.my dh has had it for 30 years. He has managed with pt and non narcotic meds. It is tough.

He remains bed bound...I am so happy to have his confusion gone.He is helping Syd with her pre calc course.

Bernie. Redoing siding is pricey. I will tell you it cost our insurance company big bucks to get our rambler done after a hail storm 4 years ago.

fressa..Happy belated anniversary.

stay cool.🥵🥵

Re: SHOPAHOLICS ONE DAY AT A TIME (SATURDAY, JUNE 25th)

Linda L, the first time I had an MRI was about 19 years ago at the Mayo Clinic.  My boss at the time told me to get a valium tablet and I did.  I was in la la land.  My next MRI was about 8 years ago and I did it without the valium tablet.  It was fine as my head was OUTSIDE!  This time the first thing to go in was my head.  I did a lot of praying that I wouldn't be claustrophobic!  When they said it will be 4 minutes, I started counting a thousand one, a thousand two etc.  I was so glad when I came out for a couple of minutes before I went back in.

Sydsgma 1, it's good to see you posting again.  I am glad that you have family with you and your dh.  I am praying for the best &  I have a great rheumatologist in my hometown clinic and my neurologist at the UW Clinic is excellent and he is a good friend of my rheumatologist.   My dh sees a brain neurosurgeon once a year at the UW Clinic, so I hope I am in good hands.  Plus I have a lot of faith that our ds will explain things to me before I have my consultation whenever that is.

It has rained off and on all day and we need it.  It's been in the wonderful upper 60's today.  It's supposed to be sunny and 73° tomorrow.  Then a few days of low 70's-80's right thru July 4th.  That's good as we are having a luncheon here on the 4th for our ds and ddil.

Hugs and prayers to all of you.

Re: SHOPAHOLICS ONE DAY AT A TIME (SATURDAY, JUNE 25th)

If Minnesota is anything like Michigan, the humidity is killer Barbara @sydsgma1

After a couple of nights with breezy low temps that made it preferable to open some windows, the A/C has been running 24/7.

I forgot to mention two things that happened on Thursday.  Wouldn't you know, like 20 minutes before my appointment with the J 6th committee (rofl) I discovered my sewer drain burped up some water near utility tub in the laundry area of my basement.  There wasn't much on the floor but it still gave me the creeps and I cloroxed the heck out of it.

I don't have frequent back ups of the sewer drain (I'm knocking wood) and the couple that I have experienced over 20 years left a mark.  One required a plumber and I solved the other one with a fantastic product available at home depot (no, they don't pay me) called

Instant Power Drain Cleaners #1801I'm pretty sure other hardware stores sell it, I just get mine at Home Depot because it's closer.  I removed the lid (that's probably not what it's called) of the clean-out and water was moving, just slower than I would have preferred.  I always have a bottle of this ^^^ stuff in the basement however it works best overnight when you are not running water.

I tuned in to the program I wanted to watch via PBS online and paused the proceeding every time I heard the tea kettle whistle.  I ran several tea kettles of hot water in the drain over the course of a couple of hours and then treated the line right before I went to bed.  Love this product $12 and a drain clean as a whistle by 6 am on Friday.

On the bright side, my JCP order came on the same day as the plumbing issue.  I love the olive embroidered jacket that I bought.  As usual JCP did not let me down.
