SHOPAHOLICS: ONE DAY AT A TIME (SATURDAY, FEB. 18)

Good morning, shopping friends. It is a beautiful sunny day and I feel much better. I've been tackling the files, paperwork, etc. It is amazing the things I keep just in case it is needed.

I do like the TSV but I'm in no rush to order. I'm in a no-shopping for wants mood right now, and right now the TSV falls into the "want" category. I did check my QVC account and found three easy pays that could easily rolled up and paid off. I think I'll be switching to an item must be $75 or more before I let the Q put it on easy pay by taking the easy way out of submitting the "buy now" button or whatever it is but instead take the long check out process for all purchases.

I do have the Alegria sandals featured on AM Style. I bought them last year when a TSV. I definitely don't need to replace them as they are still a great shoe.

Have a great day. If you shop, shop wisely.

Re: SHOPAHOLICS: ONE DAY AT A TIME (SATURDAY, FEB. 18)

Good Morning Jean @KonaKat.  It's a gloriously sunny day in my next of the woods.  Supposed to reach a high temp of 60 degrees.  Weird weather for sure.

I need to make a trip to my local Pet Supplies Plus for some Hagen pigeon food for Grayson.  I have a new bag that hasn't been opened yet, however I like to have 3 on hand, just in case, he he.

I'll probably stop in at a nearby Kmart - check out what they have while looking for a couple of bottles of Cheer free liquid.  I think my sister said Target starting selling it and while there is a Target closer to me, I like to throw business Kmart's way.  Kmart is a part of my childhood and I sure would be sad to see it go bankrupt and close.

Other than that, later on, around 6pm, I'm meeting eldest niece and her family at a restaurant for dinner.  Wanted to treat her and her husband since they just had birthdays.  My middle sister's going to - I want to see the little ones :-)

Bernie--Grayson will appreciate your getting him his food.We do take care of our precious pets. I stopped at the vet when in the city on Wednesday to get Midnight's special diet dry food. We have two K-Marts in the city and we are surprised; the one which always looked the busiest is the one that is closing. I've had good luck with both K-Mart and Sears for some items I need so I hate to see them disappear.

meallen--Thanks for the appropriate graphic. We did have Monday off for President's Day but because we have to make up some snow days, we will be working on that day.

I just checked my credit card statement for March 2016 for the card I pay in full to see its balance then. My goal is to have a lower balance for March 2017. I just checked my real FICO scores for all three major credit bureaus; one is over 800 and the other two are nearing it.

Jean, I am glad that you are feeling better.  It is sunny & will be in the 60's again.  I don't need the TSV, but if it was a knit pedal pusher, I would be tempted.  I have 2 pairs that are a lot like the Sport Savvy & they pack so nice.

Meallen, I like the graphic as always.

Bird Mama, our weather is weird too as we should be in the 30's.  Grayson will be happy with his treats.  We don't have a K Mart very close to us & I miss them too.  I hope that you have a nice outing tonight with your niece & her family.  Yes, the little ones are fun.

I woke up early this morning because I was thirsty from our dinner out last night.  There were 30 of us & the food was very good.  DH & I had their fish fry.

DH, put my clothesline outside this morning & I have 3 loads blowing in the breeze.  I have never hung outside before March 1st.

I am soon taking my moped & meeting some friends for lunch & getting my walk in either before or after lunch.  It feels like a nice April day.

Nothing much else going on around here which is sometimes a good thing.

Hugs to all of you.

Re: SHOPAHOLICS: ONE DAY AT A TIME (SATURDAY, FEB. 18)

I enjoyed my trip through Kmart.  My friend Ruth (who passed last year) and I used to talk about how hard it was to find tanks in classic colors like red, navy, beige.

She and I liked to have staples that look like this (not so tight though, lol) in our closet because it's like working in a meat locker at BCBSM in the summer yet stifling hot outside when we go to our cars to drive home.  These kind of tanks covered bra straps and could be worn under sweaters, blazers. We could ditch the sweaters and jackets when we got in the car.

It had been years since we found any in the colors we wanted from Kohl's or Kmart.

So today, after I bought a box of girl scout cookies (as I entered the store) I went browsing the tops.  Sometimes I get my casual/play tops from Kmart.

Low and behold as I was just crusing the aisles looking for nothing it particular, I came across a table that had tanks like featured above.  I saw red, navy and beige and whispered under my breath, Ruthie wouldn't you know, they finally brought our colors in :-)

It didn't make me sad, I smiled as I picked up a red one, beige one and navy one $3.99 a piece.  They're not cheaply made or thin either.

Ruth's special needs son worked at a Kmart before his particular store closed.  Ruth and I knew Kmart inventory like the back of our hands, lol.

This is why I love Kmart - there is a memory around every corner.

Twinny--I started weariing the QF crop pants and capris, the ones with subtle bling on them. They are so comfyand pack well. The capris are A222997 and the crops which I prefer are A214655 and are now on clearance. Why is beyond me as these are fabulouis. The only bling is the heart on the pocket. I didn't realize these were on clearance until I went to find the item number. I was planning to buy some more of these later. Oh well, I may have to reconsider this.

Enjoy your outing with friends. I remember years ago hanging clothes on the clothes line, and then sometimes having to rush to take clothes down when a rain surprised us.

Bernie--You made a great find at K--Mart. I have bought tops there especially if of a design, etc. that I would consider ok for lasting just a season. I have also found tops of very good quality that lasted more than one season. The access to my favorite K-Mart was washed out in the WV floods last Summer when it washed away the bridge to the shopping plaza so I haven't been to one for almost a year.

@KonaKat

Jean I'm not trying to spend your money, however if there is an item at the Q that you love and it's on clearance, get it while you can.  I don't know why some brands eliminate the great items.  I know women who are still grieving the loss of their favorite Denim & Co jeans.

Re: SHOPAHOLICS: ONE DAY AT A TIME (SATURDAY, FEB. 18)

Bernie---I loved these crops and also buy the full length pants like them. There is only  one color left in my size. I saw in the reviews that some were requesting Angel to bring them back. $21+ is better than $49+ but I'm sure that the replacement style won't measure up. These looked very tailored and expensive, and the small heart on the pocket was usually hidden if you wore a lose top over the crops. I do have some QF crops that have a little bling on the legs but they do not begin to measure up to these.

Well, I did my part. Angel and I are friends on FB so I sent her a message regarding the discontinuation of these crops and requested they would be brought back. She did reply and said that she would ask. I know that it will never happen but at least I tried.  Now, I'm concerned that they will discontinue the long pants that are so great. I'd better check those out.
