Good Afternoon! Hope everyone is having a nice Saturday. So far, I have been going at a slow, but steady pace. Nice not to have any errands/activities, etc. that would require me to be more efficient.
I watched some of AM Style, but found nothing of interest. I did enjoy seeing pictures of some of the models when they were children.
The rain stopped, so I went for a walk this morning, and the weather was quite nice -- partially sunny and in the mid-40's.
I received an email from the travel company that I planned to use for a tour of Italy next Fall. When I made my reservation, they didn't have any flight information. But, they sent me an email with my options == either make my way to New York and then fly to Paris and Venice or fly from Arizona to Los Angeles, to Paris, and then to Venice.
I called to see if they could arrange for me to go a day early to New York, spend the night at a hotel near the airport, and then fly from there. No dice. I would need to make all those arrangements on my own.
After thinking about it for a while, I decided to cancel the trip. I will lose my $300 deposit, but I am willing to do so. While I am sorry not to be making the trip, the flights to and from England were very, very hard on me, and these would be considerably longer. Hopefully, I will find a closer place to travel.
Waves to Bernie, Fressa, Glenda, Susan, Barbara, and all of our posters and readers.
Have a nice evening and sleep well.
Hugs,
Linda

@LindaLatte I focused on your travel plans. Don't know how old you are but I think you were wise to cancel. We have done many, many overseas trips always in business class. But now in our mid 70s even that upgrade cannot make up for the 8 to 10 hour flights!! Flying 3 1/2 hours from Chicago to Vegas is about my limit! So yes there are plenty of things to do closer to home in the US and Canada.
Bon voyage wherever your travels may take you!

LindaLatte---Glad you were able to get your walk today. We also had a fllip in the weather and rain is here. It's now in the forecast thru Christmas. Boo!! The temps are in the high 40's and rising to the 50's. I know it could always be worse but I do miss the cold and snow---not the ice.
I think you were wise to cancel your trip. That's a very long time to be on the plane. (assuming it does take off and land on time which is always the question) I can't fly anymore with the restrictions and my health issues but I remember when I didi. I'm sure you'll find another nice trip in a few months. Good Luck.
Tonight we hope to have the bathroom floor installed. Tomorrow it's the potty and all the trim. We're still looking at a skinny cabinet/rack for the towels. I'm hoping to catch a sale. Crossing my fingers on that. The floor really update the entire bathroom. It's going to be nice when its done.
I have a lasagne in the oven for dinner. I only started the wraping late this aftrnoon. I'm hoping it goes faster tomorrow. At least I have all the tags, paper and gift bags organzed and gifts. I have birthday gifts in the mix.
I saw most of AM Stule and was tempted by that 3 piece OTO Rene outfit but didn't order it. I enjoyed seeing the pictures of the models and crew when they were young.
Have a good evening.

Good Afternoon! Hope your bathroom project and your wrapping is going well Fressa.
I decided to send the Amazon gift cards, transfer money, etc. to my family today rather than wait until tomorrow. Sometimes there can be snafus and I didn't see any harm in sending things a day early.
Church was nice this morning, and one lady made some special holiday bread for the entire congregation. That will be my dessert tonight.
I am in the same age range as you, Fressa. Hate to admit that things seem to get more difficult as I age. While I was never a fan of long flights, transferring planes, etc., etc., it has become even more unpleasant the older I get. I thought maybe I should ponder canceling the tour for a few days, but decided just to go ahead. I'm at peace with my decision.
It was very chilly this morning, so I did a Leslie Sansone workout rather than take a walk. I plan to take a walk this afternoon.
Don't know if any of you considered ordering the Sheertex tights they sold here -- supposedly no runs, snags, etc. due to the fabric. I saw that they were available on the company website at a lower price and ordered a pair. Really bummed that both legs got snags this morning -- first time I wore them. They were above the knee, so my skirt covered them. But, I knew that the snags were there. So, I do not recommend them.
I need to work on the neighborhood newsletter today plus do some ironing, etc., but I will be watching Christmas programs (maybe old movies) this evening.
Wishing all of you a very Merry Christmas!
Hugs,
Linda

I tidied the house and wrapped the gifts. The weather is a little crazy - it's mild and the fog that rolled in mid morning is even thicker now at 3:30 in the afternoon.
If you're travelling to see friends and family, please take care tonight. For those who observe Christmas Eve from a religious perspective, may you have a peaceful and joyful evening.

For those who observe Christmas Eve from a secular perspective.

Linda L, although it was a bit foggy yesterday, it was mild & in the 50's. It's still in the 50's which is way over what it should be this time of the year. I think it was a good idea to cancel your trip. I am not fond of having to change planes. I like 3 hour or less non stop the best.
We had a good time with our Christmas lunch yesterday & the food was a hit. The pizza & broasted chicken were very good. I just made 2 batches of Snicker doodles & they went quickly. We have 4 of the SF orange drop cookies left for us. We played BINGO, Scattergories and FLIPPO which was new to all of them except us so it was fun too. We had a lot of BINGO prizes so it was extra fun. We had 4 young ones in the 20's & they wanted food, pop, Dawn dish soap, etc. None of them had to get back home early so we had leftovers later in the afternoon. Oops! When I opened the fridge door I realized that I forgot to put the potato salad & Cole slaw out so we had to with the leftovers.
Fressa, I was disappointed not to have a White Christmas, but it was good travel weather for our 2 dgs's & their Dad. Eldest dgs liked his hand held mixer with attachments and $$$. He is liking to learn how to cook which I have never liked🤔😐😑. Youngest dgs liked his jogging pants as they have a gym and the $$ too. Our dgd got a check as I didn't want to send her a pkg. As of Wednesday she had not gotten it so I hope she has it by now. She is busy getting ready to move to Virginia Beach, VA in February for 3 years on land.
Our gas prices are $3.75 this morning & they were $3.85 yesterday.
Church was nice and we had lunch at the DQ. Just a few leftovers for supper tonight.
I am doing nothing today as I am in rest up mode. i am going to put a rack of ribs in the oven tomorrow for lunch. They came from one of our grocery stores & they are quick & yummy. I get my first infusion with my new port on Tuesday afternoon so I am praying that it goes well. We will be doing a bit of shopping in the morning and lunch.
Hugs to all of you.
Glenda

Bird Mama, thanks for your cute pictures. We had light fog most of yesterday too and it's a lot worse now than it was this morning. It's supposed to be sunny and colder at the end of the week which I am an fine with.
