Re: SHOPAHOLICS: ONE DAY AT A TIME (SATURDAY, AUG 15)

Bernie @Bird mama , I wondered if you would catch the post that I have a new hobby. I do hope it works out. I have read up on suet feeders and suet, so suet looks like a good option to regular bird seed. Yo.ur suggestion of keeping a pedialyte type solution on hand to help with electrolytes is a good one.

Bird Mama, thanks for the suggestion. We will look for it tomorrow while we are out and about getting a drive thru lunch.  Neither of us drink enough water,  but I have been putting a packet of True Lemon and a packet of Splenda into a bottle of water.  It's not very lemony, but I am starting to enjoy it during the day and at mealtimes.  I hope that you get our fabulous weather and it's not humid.

It's always good to have on hand.  Gatorade is good too but I'd be concerned about the sugar in that.  Isn't your husband diabetic Glenda @twinny70

One thing great about these electrolyte solutions is the long shelf life.  The one I have in my cupboard needs to be replaced because I think it expires near the end of next month.  I bought that bottle at least 18 months ago, lol.

Glenda--I  would love to have a BK locally; the closest one, along with other eateries is a little over an hour away. We have our pizza place, and that is it. Your DGS lucked out finding a furnished apartment. The Pedialyte is a good solution to the electrolyte problem.

Bernie--I may be calling on you for bird problem solutions. I just want to help them out, especially in the winter. For example, how do you know when to change suet cakes? I don't want the food to get bad but I know the fat is needed in the winter.

Ooh Jean @KonaKat  I'm not the one to ask about suet cakes.  I've never fed the outdoor birds suet.
