Re: SHOPAHOLICS: ONE DAY AT A TIME (SATURDAY, 1/3)

Twinny the DQ in town is just a walk up window, parking is in the back....I don't think they serve anything but ice cream etc. No food and they close during the winter. We have never been to an all inclusive place for a vacation.

Snowing pretty hard now....that wasn't suppose to happen according to the weatherman this morning!

Re: SHOPAHOLICS: ONE DAY AT A TIME (SATURDAY, 1/3)

Sorry, I came back and then lost my post. DH's daughter and family came for a while this morning, and now they have left for the park up north. Too cold for us, but they will be coming here for dinner. They leave tomorrow, and I think they will come by for another visit in the morning.

Thanks for all your good wishes and prayers for me and DH. He seems better today -- one day at a time for sure.

I managed to take down most of my Christmas decorations and put them in the storage room yesterday. And, today I was able to change the sheets, etc., and do laundry. Not sure that I will get to my usually financial stuff today, but tomorrow is another day.

It is pretty cold for us -- only in the 20's when we woke up, but it should reach the high 40's or low 50's today, and even up into the low 70's later in the week. I know we were spoiled since last year it never got that cold. Good thing I didn't get rid of my sweaters and warmer clothes. I did consider that idea, but ended up keeping several things that I have been using lately.

Hope everyone has a nice evening!

Hugs,

Linda

Re: SHOPAHOLICS: ONE DAY AT A TIME (SATURDAY, 1/3)

They closed the DQ in our town last summer, but I didn't go there since I am not a big ice cream eater. I don't think they served food, but I have been to those restaurants on trips and enjoyed them.

Sorry about the snow Marijane -- I think you aren't a big fan of snow. On the other hand, I guess snow is necessary if your town relies on it for tourists. Our local mountain didn't open their snow lifts or anything last year due to lack of snow. So, they are thrilled to have snow and business already this year.

It is time to crash with the Kindle. I see they are pitching the 21 Day Fix from Beach Body. There is no difference in the price.

Re: SHOPAHOLICS: ONE DAY AT A TIME (SATURDAY, 1/3)

Hi girls! Well, it's another nasty, rainy day, and I couldn't go out and do anything even if I wanted to - I'm having a bad attack of sciatica. It scared the heck out of me last night; all of a sudden my lower right behind and down my leg was in a major pain, centered mostly around my knee, and I couldn't even walk without holding onto something and just shuffling my feet. I had a heck of a time getting in and out of the shower, and couldn't put my PJ pants on without sitting on the edge of the tub...but then had trouble getting up again. It was really frightening! I've been taking Advil, and am about 80% better today - at least I can walk. and although it's painful still, it's not excruciating. I've had problems with this a couple of times before and it does pass after a few days, but this is the first time the pain was focused in my knee...and my good one at that. The worst part is some things must get done - like scooping litter boxes and feeding the critters - and I don't have anyone to help so I have to muddle along no matter how much it hurts.

I wouldn't even think of driving in this condition, but thanks to you lovely ladies, I'm now craving and Orange Julius from Dairy Queen. {#emotions_dlg.crying} We don't have one in my town (there's not much of anything here), but there are two in Chattanooga, which isn't far. Funny thing about that city is there are two of almost everything - one on each side of the river; many people are loathe to go from one side to the other, so it's really a city divided.

I use Lacura face cream from Aldi, and one day decided to look up reviews on it. It's only $3.99, but to my amazement was rated better than creams costing $200 or more! {#emotions_dlg.ohmy} I've learned over the years that more expensive doesn't necessarily equate with better; often you pay for the fancy packaging and/or the prestige of a name. As for clothing prices, I think we've gotten spoiled since most clothing is now made in China and other countries in the East or Central America where people are paid slave wages so the clothing is cheap. I remember not batting an eye when I'd pay $40 or more for a blouse when I first started working, and that was many years ago. Back then most clothing was made in the US, and of course we didn't have nearly the amount that we do not. Of course, it was also better made and lasted for years.

Oh, I'd love to take a trip to someplace warm and tropical! It's many years since I've been to the Caribbean.

I'd love to go back to bed and read, but I suspect that this attack was brought on by sitting in bed in a slumped down position. Don't know what I'm going to do today; I don't want to just sit, but don't feel up to doing anything that requires movement. Oh, the joys of getting older!

Have a blessed day, everyone!
