SHOPAHOLICS: ONE DAY AT A TIME (MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 6th)

Good Morning and Happy Labor Day!  It is sunny and warm here with a high of 95 expected.  Warmer temperatures are supposed to arrive later this week, but it was pretty nice on my walk this morning.  I was surprised by a pretty strong thunderstorm yesterday afternoon/early evening.  It was predicted, but storms had been predicted for several days but did not materialize.  I noticed that a big branch had fallen off my next door neighbor's Palo Verde tree.  I remember when she had that tree planted, and it seemed to be doing great until now.

Other than a Walmart pick-up nothing exciting planned here.  Exercise, some cooking, and cleaning are the "highlights".  I noticed that many items, including the TSV, are on "advanced order" today.  I guess it is better to know that upfront rather than find it after you place the order, but I don't enjoy having to wait.  Fortunately, nothing is shouting my name, and I don't need new clothing or shoes.  Hope any of you order are happy with the items you receive.

Hope everyone is having a nice day, and your weather is okay.  Please post if you have a chance.

Hugs,

Linda

Re: SHOPAHOLICS: ONE DAY AT A TIME (MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 6th)

Hello all and Happy Labor Day,

I'm partially in shock and am trying to process a gamut of emotions as I type this.  I took my beloved Francis to an emergency veterinary hospital this morning and I had to give Francis back to God.  That's all I can say coherently at this time.

There are many elements: wind, fire, water
But none quite like the element of surprise

Linda--Thank you for starting the thread. I h hoave a theory about the advanced orders. Basically, instead of having an expected number of items in stock when the item is sold, the Q is protecting itself financially by waiting to see how many orders are being placed. By doing so, it won't have excess on hand of the item.

Bernie--I am so sorry about Francis. You did your best but sometimes, our best efforts are not enough when nature decides otherwise.,

Labor Day is just another day. I overslept, did some things around the house and have just finished paying bills. I did watch the Denim & Co. show. The old me might have ordered something for Fall but I already have too many clothes. With me no longer working part time, I really have to evaluate my expenditures.

Birdmama---I am so sorry for your loss of Freancis. I will keep you both in my thoughts and prayers. Some times the sweetest of creatures have the shortest amount of time on this earth.

KomKat---I did watch some of the D&co program and almost put a few items in the card. Fortunately I had started to declutter/organize the sandals and winter clothing  so I had a vivid reminder that I did not need another anything to wear. I still enjyoy the window shopping as much as the "real" shopping so I count that as a "good thing".

LindaLatte---I was hoping to make a run to the card shop but decided to finish all the solar installation. The hubby requested that the ones on the side of the house facing the main woods be moved in different spots for easier mowing. I was out early in the am  and got them moved to the shed areas, etc. Our driveway lights are now complete. It will look like a runway at night but at least we'll be able to see in the winter time. LOL

Re: SHOPAHOLICS: ONE DAY AT A TIME (MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 6th)

Hi Everyone!

We've had an odd mis of weather today from hot and sunny to cloudy and a cool breeze. The ground is so wet in some areas you can see the water trickling thru the marble chips. The weeds are out of control from all the rain but I'll tackle that on the weekend.

We had the two fawns and mama doe on our hillside for most of the morning. Whatever we have growing at the end of our parking pad must be a favorite treat for them. I have wild mint, clover and another flowering vine. So calming to see these creatures.

The kids popped over yesterday to celebrate my belated birthday. It was nice to see them and more pictures of our grandson's home and how far he's painted and refinished the wooden stairs. He has the main level sompleted and now he will start on the second floor. He's determined to have it all done before he moves in.

I enjoyed the D &Co show this morning and saw some pretty items. It's nice to see the wider variety of sizes and styles. One day at a time I'm sticking to not purchasing any more clothing, etc. untill the decluttering is complete. That's my ongoing goal. We'll see how it goes.

HAPPY LABOR DAY!!!

Have a good afternoon/evening.

Same to all of you.  Happy Labor Day.  Didn't do too much today.  But I enjoyed opening up my QVC bags.  Very happy with what I bought.  But like a few of you, I have been buying too much.  I have to stop.  I ran out of hangers.  LOL.  TSV today went quick.  I have enough pants.  Did not buy thank goodness. Enjoy the rest of your day.
