How exciting about your trip, Susan. Glad your DH was able to get an appointment with the dentist. I hope you do not have travel delays, etc. Listening to the news makes me nervous.
I have been considering taking a small ship cruise next summer/early Fall, and took a chance to put down a deposit for a trip for next August. Definitely not inexpensive, but one of the ladies at the Sheriff's Auxiliary had nothing but good to say about the outfit -- American Cruise Lines after a recent tour with her husband.
Anyway, the trip is called New England Islands and starts and ends in Providence, RI. I have never been to RI, and it sounds like a fun trip. I had looked at trips on-line earlier, but when I looked again all the single balconies on trips of interest were sold out. This was the last single balcony room on the cruise. Really hope that it works out.
I had a very interesting OLLI class on Mexican history this morning. And, then went to a grocery store (disappointed that several specials were not available, but...) and Walmart. i am looking at my closets again and have found some more clothing to donate.
Waves to Susan, Fressa, Bernie, Glenda, and our birthday girl, Barbara.
Hugs,
Linda

Hi Linda, I've never been on a cruise and I think if I did take a cruise it would be one of those offered on the American Cruise Lines. I see commercials for it now and then and what appeals to me is that they travel waterways where you can still see land, lol. I don't think that I could handle being on a ship out in the middle of an ocean. In that respect I am a true 'earth sign'.
Not much going on in my part of the world. I went food shopping earlier in the week and will hit up the local home depot for a jug of Damp Rid replacement flakes (?) and some mesh strainers for the laundry utility tub today.

Good Morning/Afternoon! They are still predicting rain and possible flooding here, but not until tonight or tomorrow. Several events have been canceled due to the storm predictions, and they have set up sandbag stations. Hope we get some rain, but not enough to cause problems.
The annual firehouse pancake breakfast was this morning, and I enjoyed it as usual. I saw a few of my neighbors in the Fire Corps (volunteers with the Fire Department) as well as a couple of Sheriff's Auxiliary volunteers.
My walk was a bit different, and there was not much time to do anything before one of my OLLI Zoom classes started. I work at the Sheriff's Auxiliary this afternoon.
Funny thing, Bernie, when I told my daughter about the cruise, she said that she had considered them as well. Not sure if it was due to not going out in the ocean or just that it was in the U.S. and to places she wanted to visit. She is definitely not into traveling like me. Neither is my DGD. But, I think at least two of my DGS really enjoy travel.
I have only had one cruise on a big ship, and I decided that I would not go on another. I didn't care for the large number of people, emphasis on drinking, gambling, etc., plus I managed to get seasick for the first few days.
But, my friends and acquaintances who have gone on these small ships have convinced me to give them a try.

Hope everyone has a nice evening.

greetings from rehab another day a little more progress, but it is slow and sometimes I get really frustrated. However, as I said, the staff is outstanding and pretty much give me anything I want or need except for a margarita lol
I've been keeping up on your post just haven't had the energy to respond, but I forgot I have talk to text and that makes it much easier.
Bernie things always seem to be changing and not in a way that is always good. I try to go with the flow and not stress stressed out about stuff that I have no control over
Linda I love your cruise plan. It sounds like a fun thing to do. You know me, though I like big cruises on the big ocean with lots of waves. Fortunately, I do not get seasick

I have fond memories of more than one cruise with very high seas 30 feet or more. You could get room service but we headed our way down to the dining room. We were one of a few tables, but we were served like royalty.
F Fresa, you are always so busy with all your projects. My grand Forks kids are gonna have to help me decorate this year.
my sweet daughter-in-law does a really great job for me and she loves to decorate. Hopefully, I'll be home in time for Thanksgiving hopefully sooner
greetings to all as I said, I am progressing slowly prayers more than welcome😇😀

Barbara @sydsgma1 it's so good to see your post. I continue to pray for you daily and I look forward to the day when you are well enough to be released home.

I echo what Bernie said, Barbara. Wonderful to see you posting. I continue to pray for your complete recovery, and hope you are able to go home as soon as possible.
We have been bracing for a lot of rain and possible flooding here, but so far nothing. It wasn't too hot on my walk, and the predicted high is in the mid-80's. It is pretty humid. For some reason, I have been having allergy-type symptoms lately, so the air filters are going strong.
I managed to drop donations off at my favorite thrift store this morning. Laundry is in process and I have things ready for my weekly financial review. Still making decisions about what to take on my trip, but I am making progress.

Hope everyone has a nice evening.

Good evening ladies, hope all is well.
Linda - I know what you mean about the allergies, I have been using my nasal spray very frequently. When I don't use it I end up with a sinus headache and I just hate those things. I do hope you get some rain ( in small amounts at a time), I know if you get too much at one time there is flooding. How is the new GGC doing?
Barbara - Glad you are on the mend, wishing you a speedy recovery.
Trying to get organized for our trip, I keep editing clothes so I don't have as much to take. I put the airline app on my phone tonight and of course ended up calling them for help about that. Had a very nice rep walk me thru it, but, I just hate it. I remember getting on a plane with a book and a camera and the world was good. We have a trip planned for next year to London, but after that I am just doing car trips. No apps needed.
I hope everyone has a great evening.

Good Morning! We have had some rain in my area, but not a large amount. In contrast, areas of Tucson and other parts of the area had so much rain that water rescues were needed. Rain is predicted again today (particularly this morning), but starting tomorrow it should be sunny and cooler.
I sympathize with you Susan. The first time I was forced to use one of the airline apps, I was so upset. And, my trip to Canada (during COVID) was horrible. I had a lot of trouble uploading the necessary information -- like my passport. It was a little better when I went to England and Scotland, but I know there are more requirements now.
It is hard to believe we existed without our smartphones, etc. The days of a book and camera seem long ago.
Good luck editing the clothes for your trip. That is always a challenge for me. I have already changed my mind several times on my upcoming trip to Idaho.
I have not heard anything much about my new GGS for a while, but he was doing great the last I heard.
We have a Sheriff's Auxiliary meeting this morning and I work in the afternoon. Lots going on this week.
Waves to Susan, Bernie, Barbara, Fressa, Glenda, and all of our posters and readers.
Hope everyone has a nice day.
Hugs,
Linda
P.S. I ordered the TSV in black. Hope they work out for me.

Hi Everyone!
Fall has arrived! We put the cover on the AC unit and set the thermostat for heat. It's been cloudy, cool and some rain. I put some pumpkins in the entry and I think that's it for the Fall decor. I scaled back this year because I still have hopes of peeling and painting. I did start another donation pile in the spare room which got me motivated.
I can't seem to keep up with what season the Q is promoting. They all seem to melt together. I did order some candy. I really do love chocolate! I will keep my fingers crosed for those that are traveling. Hoping everyone has easy travels.
So far the fawns are still around and now there are two groundhogs brave enough to venture the front yard. That makes me nervous. I'm crossing my fingers that the cooler temps will tempt them to stay in the woods.
Have good afternoon/evening.
