CERB, I did read your post last night & am sorry that Davis is still missing. It sounds like the birthday party was fun.
Bird Mama, I am glad that your 11 modules of training are behind you. You got a fabulous deal on your latest purchase. I love a great deal too.
Gayle. We had a cold Saturday, but it is in the 60's & sunny today. My kind of weather. I can't imagine that much of rain at one time. We are supposed to be in the 70's & dry for a week.
Lunch is calling my name. DH is outside digging up a lot of white stones. I think that they killed our 4 wigiela (sp?) bushes. We will be busy replacing them real soon.

Hi girls! It's a beautiful day out; no plans to go anywhere, apart from taking the dogs for a drive and maybe getting the refrigerator cleaned out. I'm exhausted from the school work; classes start again today, but all I'm doing today is checking in. I forgot I have to call the new mortgage company; they're closing for the day in a short time, so I'll leave it for tomorrow - I'm too tired to do anything "serious."
Yesterday evening we took a ride to Walmart; I got the new floodlights and as a reward for finishing that class got myself a couple of coloring books that I loved. I had originall planned on getting a sub for dinner, but the Subway in Walmart was closed, so I ended up with a spicy chicken sandwich from Wendy's. Fast food has gotten ridiculously expensive - for a dollar or two more you can get a meal at a "real" restaurant, not have to carry your own food, or clean up after yourself....not to mention the food is better. Oh well...for me fast food is a rarity anyway.
Hope you have a good day in the city, Jean. When I'm further along in getting my finances together I'd like to get the Amazon Visa and also the Prime store card, since the latter gives you 5% back on purchases.
Sorry that David hasn't returned, Charlene, but don't give up - I've had cats come home after being missing for a long time.
Wow, Essie - 104! I love talking to really old people, as they have so many fascinating stories to tell, especially since the world has been chaning so rapidly the last few years. Many years ago I used to visit with a client on my own time; she used to make excuses to call, and I could tell she was very lonely, so I paid a visit and we became friends. Anyway, her family knew Lizzie Borden, and I heard all the details of why she was guilty....albeit many times!
Hang in there, twinny - soon all of this will be behind you; I'm sure you'll be glad to have it done with.
That's a huge amount of rain, Gayle - what part of the country are you in?
Some all-natural flea killer that I ordered from Amazon came today; it smells really nice, like cloves. The reviews are very good (4 1/2 stars), so hopefully it'll work; the trick is getting the cats sprayed without their drawing blood! The dogs aren't a problem, although Autumn must be really tasty - no matter what I use on her, the fleas come back; I'm hoping the Seresto collar (which should arrive tomorrow) does the trick.
Well, I need a break before I tackle the refrigerator; I'm going to make a pot of Sloppy Joes for this week's dinners. Hi to everyone - have a blessed day!

Good Afternoon/Evening! Sorry to be late in posting, but it has been another full and pretty stressful day. Glad you were able to get out today, Jean, and it is nice and sunny. I really like the TSV, and I'm doing my best to resist. If it just had a straight hem, I know that I would have purchased it already -- probably the pink or the lighter blue. It is difficult for me to even think of buying clothes at the moment, but I'm sure that will pass.
Sorry about your friend's Mom, Essie, but hopefully she had a good as well as long life. Too bad you had to make the return, but better that than keep something you don't like. This thread has really helped motivate me to do the same.
Glad your stomach bug has passed Rosa. Hope you love the top when it comes. Your outfit idea sounds great. It is funny how long it can take to figure out what the best look is for you. At least it was funny in my case. I found that skirts just below the knee, full-length or ankle pants, and pedal pushers just below the knee are best. Capris can work if they are not too long. But, Bermuda shorts, crops, and maxi skirts really don't look that great on me.
Those peep toe booties are very cute, snicks. I am totally into sandals at this point (very warm here), along with my fitness shoes. Don't know when I would wear booties, but probably not until November or December. Sorry about your lack of sleep. It is so hard to do without sleep. I don't sleep well at all myself, but probably better than you do.
That is cute about the balloon, Charlene. Sounds like the birthday went as well as could be expected under the circumstances. Sorry your son was so late, etc. Really hope Davis will return. I have heard so many stories about long lost pets who make it home safely. Fingers crossed.
That is a cute shrug, Bernie. You certainly have been a busy lady. I talked to DD, and she was able to find several things for DGD at that sale. Win, win.
Glad your DH is better, Gayle. That is a tremendous amount of rain. Happy you are okay. I am trying to adopt your attitude about clothes. I'm working on it, but my closets are still too full despite quite a lot of "thinning out."
Your life has been incredibly hectic, twinny. It sounds like your niece is getting a wonderful house, and I think your Mom is busy smiling in Heaven knowing that the house will stay in the family. You have done such a wonderful job. Hope your doctor's visit goes well.
Good luck with your new classes, Arlene. My middle DGS finished the spring semester at the community college last week, but he will not be taking summer classes. He has several Army assignments for the summer -- his weapons training this weekend (starts on Thursday), special PT training in June (two weeks), and two weeks of Reserves in July. It is possible he will have more training in August as well. On Wednesday, oldest DGS will be going to see a career counselor at the college where he just graduated. Working part-time at Macy's isn't very lucrative.
Waves to Kathleen, Susan, Marijane, LindaR, pinky ann, Barbara, Karen, and all of our posters and readers.
Just FYI -- Kendall -- our former poster Nancy's older DD --just graduated from college, and her younger DD is headed off to college in the Fall. Time flies!
DH was up a couple of times last night, and he had several accidents yesterday. But, no falls, thank goodness. His caregiver came this morning, and she suggested getting him a wheelchair. So, when the hospice nurse came to change his bandage and check up on him, I asked for one. Much to my surprise, the medical equipment company called -- to deliver a walker, and the nurse asked them to bring a wheelchair. I didn't take the walker since it was just like the one I have, but I did accept the wheelchair. Then I attempted to take DH out for a walk with me pushing the wheelchair. That was almost a disaster. I think there is technique involved, and I just could not push him up curbs, etc. It got so bad that I cut the walk very short, and had him walk into the house. I think part of the problem is that he weighs so much more than I do (75 -80 pounds more), and I just don't know what I'm doing.
I definitely need to get out of the house, and I'm glad he will be going to the "club" tomorrow so that I can do so.
Hope everyone has a nice evening and sleeps well.
Hugs,
Linda
