Re: SHOPAHOLICS: ONE DAY AT A TIME (MONDAY, MAY 14)

I forgot to mention - I had an interesting experience this morning when I was requesting my annual free credit report from the 3 credit agencies.  I can't even remember the last time I did this - I should do it annually.

TransUnion went through like a shot.

It took 2 attempts to get Equifax.

Never could get the report online from Experian and I have no desire to write in for it.

@twinny70  You've probably mentioned being color blind before and I missed it.  Are you totally color blind or is it just certain colors that give you trouble?

Good morning Jean, and thank you for starting us.  I can see how a condo would be a great option for you. When I really like an item I have it altered, but have found wonderful inexpensives alterers the past few years of moving moving moving. I also need to put the brakes on ordering.  Right now am looking into certificate programs of various types, and poring over this personality/business assesment information I've been given.  My first "coaching" phone call will happen tomorrow and I'm eager to hear her perspective.

Oh Charlene!  I always worry about that with my car since it has 228,000 miles on it now.  It's in good shape but I remember when Jean came I was afraid to commit to driving because it might ruin her trip if I broke down!!  lol I worry a bit too much about making others happy.  I ended up with Steve's DD and Gson that weekend as they made an impromptu visit to see UW, where he will be going to school this fall.

I'm glad you were able to help her out though and she made her flight ok.  And had a nice Mother's Day.  I love KFC!!!

Re: SHOPAHOLICS: ONE DAY AT A TIME (MONDAY, MAY 14)

I spent 40 minutes out in 90 degree temps trimming boxwood as it was the first chance I have had to do it while feeling good. The boxwood is half done and there are all kinds of trimmings to be picked up plus fine-tuning the trimming before I tackle the other boxwood. Something tells me that I needed a break, so I came in and cooled down while finishing season 2 of Bosch. We have a severe thunderstorm warning out now and the sky is getting dark. So much for taking care of the mess from the boxwood trimming.

I just spent 2 hours sorting keys in the basement.  Seriously - my husband had a padlock and gun lock collection (lol) plus there were a couple of storage chests with locks and tool chests that were locked with padlocks.

I felt it was time to sort through over 100 keys that he apparently collected through his lifetime, lol.  Lucky I get a sense of humor is all I'm saying.

I found a key for every lock dammit and was able to determine which keys were house keys (not mine).  I pitched those and kept easily 50 smaller padlock or chest keys in a sandwich baggie just in case I run into something padlocked when I go through the garage addition that he took over.

Good Afternoon!  Thanks for getting us started, Jean.  The thread is busy today!  Glad you got at least part of your trimming done before the storm.  I have been going back and forth over the TSV, and I think that is probably a sign that it should be a "no". I have three jean jackets already -- one that is quite old (more than 10 years) one from Chico's (orange with beautiful embossing on the back), a D&Co. one in bright pink (not as old as the Chico's one, but several years old), and an IM one I got from eBay a couple of years ago (medium/dark denim).  I keep telling myself that three is more than enough for my needs since our weather is often too hot for a jacket, and I'm not sure about the crop part.  On the other hand, I am short and maybe a cropped jacket would look great.  Decisions/decisions.  I wonder why I get myself in these silly internal debates over "things" than I really don't need.

Waves to Marijane, Bernie, Barbara, twinny, Charlene, Kathleen, and all of our posters and readers.

It has been a pretty busy day for me.  Walking, strong bones class, and then visiting DH.  I have a bookclub meeting later this afternoon (The Tea Girl of Hummingbird Lane: A Novel" by Lisa See), and then I'll need to write up my notes/report on the meeting.

Strong bones was interesting -- only three of us in attendance, and I was the "leader".  One of the ladies is going to Greece for three months, and I was very interested in her stories.  Her Dad was born in the U.S., but his parents were Greek and never learned English.  The same for her Mom.  She learned Greek before she learned English, and still keeps in touch with her relatives over there.  She told some charming stories about going to church early in the morning and buying fresh Spanakopita on the way home (inexpensive and delicious.)  Her husband is from Texas, and doesn't know Greek.  Fortunately, the young relatives know English and want to practice.  She also told a funny story about when she first met his parents in Texas.  They asked were her Father was from -- happy when she said Athens, but thought it was Athens, Texas or Athens, Georgia rather than Greece.  LOL

Very happy your DD was okay and made her flight, Charlene.  I know trucks can be quite expensive, so I'm sorry she may be forced to buy one earlier than expected.

Good for you with the painting, twinny.  I'm sure you do a good job.

Hope you find a certificate and area that is a good fit, Kathleen.

Sorry some of you are having storms and other bad weather.  It is sunny and hot here, but "only" in the lower 90's.

DH was in pretty good shape -- sleepy, but smiling.

Have a nice evening everyone, and sleep well.

Hugs,

Linda

Re: SHOPAHOLICS: ONE DAY AT A TIME (MONDAY, MAY 14)

Today is a challenge as I am a "jacket-holic." Probably if one had been in khaki or a little longer, they would have been sending one to me. Unless worn in AC, etc., it would not have been worn much in summer just Linda said.

I did make a purchase today. I get my HVAC filters from DiscountFilters.com. I got an email with a discount. Since it was nearing the time to order another 18 month supply, I indulged.  The purchase wet on the spreadsheet. I've been good about doing that so far this month.

Our local medical clinic has a portal now, so I went to check if my last cholesterol tests were posted. They weren't so I emailed the doctor for them. He replied that he  had posted them. The test for that was done in June of last year. For some reason, I missed the six month test in December. The HDL level was very good and Total was at top of normal range. This is quite a difference from the past few years. I think the results were a fluke. I have an appointment in June with the primary so I'll be  having another series of tests done in June.
