SHOPAHOLICS ONE DAY AT A TIME (MONDAY, MARCH 4th)

Hi! It is still Sunday here, but I thought it was time to start a new thread.

Our weather was nice today.  Hope the weather is okay where you live.

Emily certainly sounds like a very adventuresome young lady, Glenda.  I think it is good that she is trying out new things, but I do worry about motorcycles.  My SIL had quite a bad motorcycle accident years ago when lady literally ran over him.  She said she didn't see him -- yikes.

Your friend certainly bought a lot of new appliances at once.  My refrigerator is not fancy at all, but so far so good.  I did move one of the shelves to better suit me.

Waves to Fressa, Glenda, Bernie, Susan, Barbara, and all of our posters and readers.

On Monday I have a very full schedule with an OLLI class, visiting hospice patients, working in the hospice office, etc.  One of "my" patients had a birthday today, and I will be taking her a card and flowers. Fingers crossed she will be awake when I visit.

Hope everyone has a nice Monday.

Hugs,

Linda

The weather is supposed to be in the 70s here again today!  So far I've purchased 2 pair of NYDJ shorts.  However, they were at an As Is price.  First time I've ever bought anything like this so I hope they're okay.  I can tell you they were half the price as their exact counterpart.

Re: SHOPAHOLICS ONE DAY AT A TIME (MONDAY, MARCH 4th)

Linda L, we have had a lot of nice weather too,  but we are getting a thunderstorm tonight.   We need more rain or snow as we are in a drought.  I have mixed feelings about the motorcycle, but my first cycle was a Harley Davidson.  Her dad & youngest bro both have motorcycles so I told her to get advice from them🤔🤔🤔.  Your schedule is as busy as ever.  It's nice for you to get your patient a card and gift.  My appliances are simple too and I have had good luck with them.  My friend sold two of the appliances, the appliance company took two away for free to resell and junked the other two.

Cheriere,  it was in the 70's here for a couple of days & we are still getting above normal temps right through next week.  I am still waiting to see what we will get for the rest of the month.

LadybugyDG,  I am not a fan of humid hot weather.  I would love to live in a place that didn't get above 60° & sunny. Fall is my favorite time of the year.  Enjoy and all of your goodies.  Once in a while I have to treat myself too.

Yesterday was the first time it was so windy that I didn't feel safe sitting on the front porch in my glider.  The hot tub was out of the question too.

Euchre was fun today even though I didn't have very good cards.

My niece had her 54th birthday on Saturday so she, her dh & gf & her dh rented a tree house.  What fun pics of them.  My mom passed away that date 8 years ago so I tried not to think about that day.

My dh has an appt. with his dermatologist tomorrow morning to check the cancer spot that was removed a few months ago.  At 1.00 I have my first PT appt.  I hope that I don't have to go too many times and can do them at home.

Wednesday is a free day here, so we are planning to get all of our tax things together and go see our tax lady.  I don't want a lot  if $back.  Would like to break even.

We had another big mess in the basement right before lunch. I put in a load of laundry & got into the hot tub.  Got out & went to hang up the laundry & stepped on something that went "crack. ".   Another big fluorescent light blew up.  It's a good thing that we have a cement floor in the laundry room and a good vacuum to suck it up.  Luckily we weren't in the laundry room at the time.  We are puzzled about why it is happening.

Hugs to all of you.

Glenda

Re: SHOPAHOLICS ONE DAY AT A TIME (MONDAY, MARCH 4th)

twinny70----I have those flourescent lights in the under cabinet lighting. They are a "pain" to replace. This last time we noticed that the "pins" on end and the contac metal inside the light housing were a bit "rusted". The hubby cleaned the contacs and that seemed to help. I know that sooner than later we'll have to replace them. I have my eye on those ones that magnetic. The reviews are mixed so hopefully they will improve them by the time I have to  deal with tthat issue. Crossing my fingers that your lights stay in good shape.

Re: SHOPAHOLICS ONE DAY AT A TIME (MONDAY, MARCH 4th)

Hi Everyone!

It's sunny and a decent temp today. (somewhere in the low 50's) What a relief from the rain storms for the last week. I actually have 6 crocus blooming in the front porch garden. You never know with my "camo thumb" what is going to grow. Hopefully, they will last.

We spent the weekend doing all those small chores that seem to consume a day. I did put all the Valentines wreaths, etc. away and put out Spring items. A small Eser tree in the entry and a long basket door arrangement. I'll see how the birds like this style.

I didn't watch much of Fashion weekend because I'm still trying to stick to my budget. I f I don't see it then I'm not tempted works the best for me. We think we'll install a new floor in the workroom this month. Our plan is to do al the smaller rooms in the lower level before we tackle the main space. Still undecided which style and color but have time to decide. Price abd ease of install are the two deciding factors.

I like to keep my appliances as simple as possilbe with maybe one or two extras. Anything beyound that is above my skill set. LOL

Have a good afternoon.

Re: SHOPAHOLICS ONE DAY AT A TIME (MONDAY, MARCH 4th)

Good Evening!  Hope your DH gets good news from his doctor, Glenda.  That is frightening about the fluorescent lights.  Fingers crossed this will not happen again.

You seem to have one house project after another, Fressa.  I ended up ordering some IM big deal pants.  Hope they work out.  I have four pairs of his 24/7 pants that must be at least 7 years old.  I like them for the warmer months since they are mostly cotton and fit well. The black ones have faded, so I wanted to replace them. But, who knows if these will work out.  I had a code which provided free shipping, so I will only need to pay to ship them back if they do not fit.

Unfortunately, my "birthday" hospice patient was sleeping soundly when I visited yesterday.  She had several other bouquets and birthday cards that were not open.  I left a note letting her DD know that I was there for an hour, and wanted to wish her Mom a Happy Birthday.

My other patient who has gangrene in one leg was in very bad shape.  She is on very strong medications and is having trouble staying awake, thinking, eating, swallowing, etc., and is having pain in other areas.  She is also very depressed.  I spent 30 minutes or so with her, but she wasn't up for more.  I told her that I was praying for her and she appreciated it.

Yesterday afternoon I worked in the hospice office.

The senior lunch program was pretty busy today, but there were no problems.  After lunch I went to the gym and then to the UPS store to return an Amazon purchase (leaking hair product).

Waves to Glenda, Fressa, Bernie, Susan, Barbara, and all of our posters and readers.

Sleep well.

Hugs,

Linda

Re: SHOPAHOLICS ONE DAY AT A TIME (MONDAY, MARCH 4th)

LindaLatte---Your days are so full with activity. I wish I had your energy. We're trying to finally get our house updated and scaled back while we still have some energy to do it. I think we are fading fast. LOL The last two weeks I've had water issues in the master bathroom at bedtime. Last week it was the Waterpik quitting so I had water running all over the vanity. Last night it was a cogged sink drain and the sink stopper broke. UGH!! Why is it always at bedtime? At least I had a mini tool kit handy so drain repair was possible. QVC had a Waterpik on sale so I got lucky. The warranty had just expired.

I will keep your hospice patient in my prayers.

Re: SHOPAHOLICS ONE DAY AT A TIME (MONDAY, MARCH 4th)

It's been a somewhat quiet week here.  My eldest great niece turned 13 on Sunday and I stopped in to see her and wish her well.  It felt like summer on Monday and I think we hit 70 degrees or more.  It's been mostly cloudy, dreary and cooler since.

Had a doctor's appointment yesterday, got the required order for the annual mammogram and scheduled that for March 21st (once I got home).

Re: SHOPAHOLICS ONE DAY AT A TIME (MONDAY, MARCH 4th)

Good Evening!  Sorry you had to do late evening repair jobs, Fressa.  Good that you had the tools you needed. Belated happy birthday to your great niece, Bernie.

Our weather has turned much cooler and rainy.  Yesterday it was cloudy and cool, but it made it to the upper 50's.  It was cool in this morning, but made it up into the mid-50's before going down to 43 at the moment.  The rain started around 11 today and has been off and on all day.  Not my kind of weather, but we need the rain which is supposed to continue tomorrow.

The neighborhood ladies had lunch at Denny's yesterday.  Not my favorite restaurant, but the food was okay and the company was nice.  After lunch, I went to two grocery stores and Walmart.  Some of the prices were higher than last week, but there was a sale on grapes.

My IM big deal pants came yesterday, and unfortunately they did not fit me well -- too long and the rise was off.  I had a very nice conversation with a customer service rep, and I will be receiving a petite pair if all goes well.  Fingers crossed they fit much better.  Today I took the other ones to the Post Office -- supposedly, I will not need to pay return shipping.

I went to the gym in the morning and had my origins of the Civil War class this afternoon.  Boy, is that a complicated issue.

On my way into class, an older couple who were walking ahead of me fell down in the courtyard.  The lady fell first, and her husband followed.  A couple other students helped them up, and they didn't seem to be hurt.  But, it was frightening.

Tomorrow I have a Tai Chi Zoom class and then have a lot of hospice work to do.

Waves to Fressa, Bernie, Glenda, Susan, Barbara, and all of our posters and readers.

Hope everyone sleeps well.

Hugs,

Linda
