Birdmama---Thank you for sharing your story about Rita. We went thru a similar situation with our "Greta". (long coat GSD fawn color). We went for her annual exam at 8years old and the vet said she had terminal cancer fast spreading across her chest and upper legs. She said 2-3 weeks at best which would maybe make it to Christmas. I would check her every day until it was time. My hubby misses her every day. She was his "special" one.
