Good morning, shopping friends. We actually have sunshine today, a welcomed deviation from all the rainy days.
The TSV is lovely but it is not my style, so the style and price are not meeting my criteria. I quit buying expensive bags a long time ago. I'm watching the jewelry show now but am not buying. I'm awaiting the white gold tsv, so that is enough for this retired person.
I've been going through papers and deciding what needs to go. I need to get back into the decluttering mode as a few days skipped results in a challenge to be faced again.
Have a great day. If you shop, shop wisely.

Hello Jean @KonaKat
The TSV is no interest to me either. I don't eat or wear
Since we could get rain tomorrow and I won't feel like cutting grass later in the week, I decided to get out there, see how damp it was or wasn't and started mowing. The front yard is done. I decided to hand trim the evergreen shrub nearest the back of the house and then attacked the forsythia gone wild
I'm taking a little break before I hit the backyard. I've already walked the yard and picked up a bucket of walnuts. I'm sure I will come across new ones as I mow.

Bernie--Faux leather works for me right now. How could anyone look at that lamb and still buy a lamb leather handbag? You have so much energy. I need to do some outside stuff but right now I have a headache as well as an overall miserable feeling. The lack of sleep last week hasn't helped. I work in elementary school tomorrow, so hopefully I feel better. I think I'm heading for the bed and some reading right now.

Hi Kona Hi Birdmama,
I too wont buy lamb leather. Lambs are so sweet and docile. I dont buy leather handbags either. Actually I dont eat red meat and rarely eat pork or chicken.
I just finished de-cluttering my room and all I need to do is paint and my little room I rent will be complete. I finally have set it up to where I love it now.
As for the weather its not going to be a sunny warm California day. We wont even get to 80' which bums me out. I love summer and like it hot. Weather man said expect 79' the whole week.
My son started 7th grade today. Im sad, my baby is growing up so fast! I remember 41 years ago starting Jr. High and I hated it! He is looking forward to it, so as Martha Stewart would say, thats a good thing. I will hear about his day later on and post tomorrow.
Enjoy your day ladies!
Felicia

Jean, enjoy the 🌞🌞🌞 today. No TSV for me either. Yes, lambs are so cute. Enjoy your tsv when it arrives. I hope that you are feeling better soon.
Bird Mama, I am sending rain your way. We had planned to go into the hot tub after lunch, but it started to rain before lunch. No sunshine until Wednesday.
Felicia, we are in the 70's today and I am loving it. I am a fall/ winter person. I love to paint, but only inside. No exterior painting for me. I hope that your 7th grade son has some fun stories to tell you. Our 3 dgc start after Labor Day, but they didn't get out until June 10th.
We had a fun time at the pool party on Saturday. All of my DH's brothers were able to come. Our 2 grands had fun while Christopher played his first soccer game of the season.
I am still playing catch up from vacation.I did 4 loads of laundry yesterday and they dried nicely. I washed the floors this morning and made bar b que . We are having friends in for supper tomorrow night & playing cards in the afternoon.
I had my mammogram this morning and hope that I get a good report.
Lots of things are going on this week. Most importantly is my infusion on Friday. It is also cars on the square that night. We will go if it isn't too hot for me.
Hugs to all of you.

Hello everyone, Jean - thanks for starting the thread today. No TSV for me either, though I did give in and buy the same Susan Graver top you have in the confetti print. Hope it's a keeper! bernie - cute photo of the lamb, and smart of you to anticipate the best times to garden. Felicia - wow, to have a son going into 7th grade. Back when we called in junior high school, rather than middle school, I have to admit, those were my least favorite years of school. Hope your son adjusts well and enjoys it better than we did! twinny - glad to hear that the pool party was fun. It does take a while to catch up on things after a vacation, doesn't it? Hope that you have good results from your mammogram and that the upcoming infusion goes well.
Well...I hesitate to say it, but I'm in the minority here in regards to lambs. My mother grew up on a farm where they grew citrus, some cotton, and had about 30 head of sheep. They ate lamb all the time, so she cooked lamb for us quite a bit when I was growing up. It was normal for us. Then when my DD was in FFA she had a couple of lamb projects. Lambs are cute when they're newborns, but once they're older than about 2 months, they're kind-of big and stupid. Goats on the other hand, are brilliant, wonderful critters!!! JMO, lol.
Another blistering hot day here again. I am still working on scanning photos and trying to get caught up on some reading. Dinner tonight is some ham slices, potato salad, and tomatoes from the garden.
Waves to all ~ Charlene

Good Afternoon and thanks for getting us started, Jean. Glad you have some sunshine for a change, but sorry you aren't feeling well. No TSV for me either. Mostly due to the price and style, but also because I don't need a new leather purse. I have started to enjoy the other variety -- Lug and Kipling instead. Really don't need one, but that hasn't stopped "wanty".
Hi Bernie, glad you are getting yard work done. That was a cute lamb picture.
Good that you are getting things you like done at your place, Felicia, Like you, I don't have fond memories of 7th grade or what was called junior high at the time. Glad your son is happy to be going to school. We have your hot weather in Arizona for sure. I think it is supposed to make it to 100 degrees again today. Not unusual for this time of the year here. I'm a warm/hot weather fan as well.
Getting things back to normal after a trip certainly seems to take a while, twinny. Hope your mammogram results are good, and your infusion really helps.
Wish I could have some of your tomatoes from the garden, Charlene. Yum! I have never cared that much for lamb, but I know many people do like it. Funny that you enjoy goats so much. I only had one real encounter with goats, and they were not at all friendly. But, one of my neighbors is also an owner of goats and loves them.
My handyman was supposed to be installing my new screen door this morning, but the truck he was using to pick up the door had a bad battery. So, we postponed the installation until Wednesday.
I took my walk and had my "strong bones" class this morning. Then I had a call from the funeral home that my DH's ashes and death certificates were ready. I have never used Uber, but I had their app on my phone. Long story short, I got an Uber ride up there, and the driver also brought me home. The funeral home is quite a distance from here, and I am not really familiar with the area. So, I decided to use a service instead. While it was certainly not inexpensive, it was about a good solution for me.
I finally got back to my grout cleaning project yesterday, and I'm very happy with my progress. Still plenty to do since most of our floors are tile, but....
Waves to all of our posters and readers. Hope everyone has a nice evening!
Hugs,
Linda

I bear no judgement on people who consume lamb Charlene @cerb. There are people who have chickens and turkeys that don't make it to old age and you know, there are pigs and cattle.
I'm just not much of a meat eater - never was. I used to eat chicken or turkey every once in awhile until Grayson the pigeon joined my family in 2009. I don't know, I never looked at chicken the same way again - maybe it was a size thing or the strutting and the head bobbin'.
I never did understand the cornish hen or squirrel/squab thing either - but you know, it's what we grow up with.

Felicia @hsawaknow I went to Catholic school so we were in one school from kindergarten until 8th grade. I never really had the middle school thing - just the trauma of high school

Linda @LindaLatte I am so glad that you had a positive Uber experience, especially considering why you needed to use Uber.
My grandparents and most aunts and uncles were buried in a cemetery. My Dad was cremated and that bothered me because he wanted to be put into a crypt. I didn't make the decision.
My mother wanted to be cremated and buried with her dog. I promised her I would do that for her when the dog passed in 1987 and made good on that promise about 9 months after she passed in 2010. My sister had the ashes so I needed to wait until she was ready. Yes, I did it on the down low
My husband wanted to be cremated and I remember being anxious "to get him home". I don't know why but it gave me such comfort.
