Good morning, shopping friends. I'm not working today; the large amount of rain has caused flooding of highways and side roads in our area. The Interstate is covered at one point.
I saw the TSV presented this morning. Let's just say I saw someone shaped somewhat like me wearing it, and she did not need her bottom emphasized. It is things like this that is helping me not to buy right now.
Right now, I am watching the Brooke Sheilds show after doing some odds and ends around the house. I see they are presenting a asymmetric hem sleeveless top. Definitely not my style. The fact it is sleeveless automatically eliminates it from consideration.
I guess I should get motivated and get more things done around the house, but rainy days are not exactly motivating. They are, however, good at causing aches and pains in the joints.
Have a great day. If you shop, shop wisely.

Just checked order status to see what I ordered in May of 2017. May wasn't th at bad last year, but I hope to restrict myself to $100 fun money spending on the Q. I am really doing well on April of this year compared to last year.

Hello Jean @KonaKat, it finally stopped raining here. We had a somewhat gentle rain for two days and the backyard was starting to pool in certain areas. Thank goodness the earth was just warm enough to absorb the water, albeit slowly. It's still gloomy looking out there.
Sorry to read about the flooding in your area. It sounds like you are doing pretty well as far as the spending is going.
I've been sitting on a new prescription for eyeglasses since the end of January. I really dislike shopping for eyeglasses, lol. I was puttering around on the computer and checked into Visionworks since I have an AARP coupon. Yikes, the reviews are bad for that place. Lenscrafters made my last glasses a long time ago so I will probably go with them this time, once I get myself off dead center and actually go there ![]()
I like plastic frames, plastic lenses, traditional bi-focals and am not a money maker for any eyeglass place so I know going in I will be saying, oh no thank you.

Bernie--I also need to visit the optometrist as I haven't been there for a long time. I do the Varilux lenses as well as the transition lenses. I happen to like the frames I have, so I hope to con them into using the same frames. You were fortunate to have a gentle rain.

Good Afternoon, and thanks for getting us started, Jean. No TSV for me either. I found that peplum tops emphasize parts of my body that I don't want emphasized. I hope any who order it enjoy it very much.
Sorry about your weather. I saw several areas are having flooding, and others are buried in snow. It is very dry here (low humidity), warm/hot, and the winds are kicking up. So, they are a bit afraid of fires. So far, so good, and I prefer this weather over cold/storms/flooding.
I'm sure you will do well in May shopping. While I may do okay in spending for me, I'm pretty sure it will be an expensive month since I plan to visit DD and family and attend two of the boy's graduation (from Community College). I will be staying at motels rather than with DD since there are no spare rooms, so there will be additional costs. Still, it will be money well spent for me.
Good luck with the eyeglasses, Bernie. It can be difficult to find an optometrist who doesn't want to "sell" you on things you don't want, but I know you will be strong. I have vision insurance (I pay extra) which allows a new pair of glasses every year, and I have been getting new glasses yearly for a while. I still end up paying for extra services -- special exams, special lenses, etc., but it isn't too bad.
DH was in a very good mood yesterday, and pretty good today after he woke up. He was asleep for the first part of my visit, but then was wide awake and smiling during lunch. After lunch, his eyes were closing again. I found out that his previous hospice nurse (now working at a different hospice) came by to see him since she was helping a different patient.
I also found some additional details about DGS' accident. The other driver was going pretty fast, and the impact spun his car around and it hit the curb with such impact that one of the axles fell off. DGS had to crawl out the other side of the car. The other driver is claiming it is DGS' fault despite several witnesses plus a police report blaming him (distracted driving, etc., etc.) While I'm sure it will work out, it is so nasty to go through this process. DGS did get a rental car, but DD said he is driving incredibly slowly. This was the second T-bone accident in less than two months, and I think he is traumatized.
Headed out to pick up my taxes right after lunch. Since the accountant's office will be busy, I have decided to take a book.
Waves to all of our posters and readers. Hope everyone has a nice evening.
Hugs,
Linda

Linda--Visiting familly is a justified expense. I also stayed in hotel, etc. when I visited family. Sometimes, I don't sleep well at night so I like to be able to get up if needed. I am glad that DH was in a much better mood and also smiling. It is understandable that DGS would feel traumatized after two incidents.
We now have snow flurries, quite a difference from the record high of 89 two days ago. I was reading and missed the Bob Mackie show, likely a good thing as I like many of his items.

The rain started spritzing again after I posted the rain moved out of here. I've seen an occasional flake.
I looked at the items recently on air and that new knit Bob Mackie jacket is certainly tempting.
