Re: SHOPAHOLICS ONE DAY AT A TIME. (Friday, May 2nd)

good afternoon it is another gorgeous day here. I will turn the AC on this weekend because it's supposed to be in the upper 80s low 90s. Those temps occur periodically in may.

I am recovering from another busy therapy session. He is really working on my strength and I can tell a difference in my speed when I walk and my balance. I feel much more secure when I am out and about I need to take a pain pill, actually only half when I get home.

My youngest DD is not happy with my cruise plans. I think she would like me to stay bundled up in my apartment and not spend any money.😵‍💫 I have a very adventurous spirit. It would like to have a few more adventures before I can't..

I am getting a chuckle out of the coverage for the conclave because the news folks are really talking points and they're at this point aren't any. I hope they all watched conclave before they got into this reporting.

Fressa, your weather should get better but I know there are a lot of storms going on.wehave a nice patio here and some residents put pots of flowers out

LindA...I know neuropathy is an ongoing battle with trying be active. I hope your back pain disappears.

I am going to make a smoothie for my late lunch.

Re: SHOPAHOLICS ONE DAY AT A TIME. (Friday, May 2nd)

Glad your therapy session seemed to help, Barbara.

I wondered how your "kids" would feel about you taking the long cruise, Barbara.  While I can't imagine being away from home for that long, it sounds like quite an exciting adventure.  I hope to find a shorter trip (maybe a couple of weeks or so) to take this year.

I agree completely that you should travel and do as much as you can for as long as possible.  Several friends and my DH who loved to travel could not do so when they got older.  It makes me sad to even think of it.

Re: SHOPAHOLICS ONE DAY AT A TIME. (Friday, May 2nd)

Linda Latte, I have not forgotten you ladies, but I have been busy with health issues.  I had my hysterectomy/colonoscopy surgeries on  August 20th  & it was a long 12 weeks of recovery for me after being in the hospital for 12 days. I have had a lot of support and help, but I had a lot of pain for 12 weeks.  I am excited to get my next surgery on May 13th at the UW Carbone Hospital.  My surgeon will be reconnecting me so that I can get rid of the "bag."  It's been a learning curve for both of us🤔.  She said that I will be in the hospital for three days and need three weeks to recuperate.

I have been getting PT 1-2 times a week for 20 weeks, but the last one was last Wednesday.  I am getting a bit stronger each day, but my hands and feet are still terrible with poly neuropathy.   They say that most of it will go away,  but it takes time.

We have done very little shopping as my happy zone is an hour  away.  We went to a town an hour away yesterday and I bought a nice soft nightgown for less than $6.00 & it had been $59.99. I need clothes that are easy to get off and on.

Our weather has been on the cool side, but we are going to be in the 80's by the weekend.  I am not looking forward to the hot weather.

Blessings to all of you.

So glad to see you posting, Glenda.  Praying your surgery next week goes well.  Kudos on finding such a bargain nightgown.  Good that PT is helping, and I really hope your neuropathy goes away or at least diminishes in time.

If you are up to it, please let us know how your family is doing.

Many hugs!

@sydsgma1   You cruise sounds amazing.  Have a wonderful time! Good for you.  A friend flew to Hawaii, cruised all the islands and relaxed several days on sea days back to LA.  I love sea days!  Enjoy!

Good afternoon..the wind is really blowing. I do not want to close any windows because it is impossible to open them  I have a lightweight kimono on that matches everything.

@lynnie61  thank you. Cruising is my favorite way to travel

Glenda..it is so good to see you posting...I will pray that your surgery goes well  I hope that you can start traveling soon.

i am waiting for my travel agent from Aaa to call. I prefer using them to get everything in Oder.

Re: SHOPAHOLICS ONE DAY AT A TIME. (Friday, May 2nd)

Good Evening!  Hope the wind isn't bothering you, Barbara.  How nice to have a kimono that works with everything.

I have had a pretty quiet day.  The weather was pretty nice on my walk (sunny and cool to start, but warmed up), and the high was in the mid 80's.  It is supposed to make it well into the 90's the next couple of days and may make it to 100 on Sunday.  Good thing I like warm/hot weather.

My back is not hurting as much as yesterday (still hurting, but...), and the gym went well.

I still have not heard back from the Sheriff's Auxiliary, but did receive an encouraging email late today.  Also finally received a text about my Prolia shot.  It is still not pre-approved, but it seems like the nurse practitioner will look into it.

Our gasoline prices are very low, so I decided to fill up today -- could have waited another couple of days, but.....  Then, I went to Sprouts to pick up a couple of things and used a Christmas gift card I received to buy a nice dried flower arrangement.

Waves to Barbara, Glenda, Fressa, Bernie, Susan, and all of our posters and readers.

Hope everyone sleeps well.

Hugs,

Linda

Re: SHOPAHOLICS ONE DAY AT A TIME. (Friday, May 2nd)

Hi Everyone!

Our Internet was down for a day or so. The city/township are still working on the lines from the last big storn. Thiat one was fairly severe  but the lines are also old. I hesitate to think if any regular maintainence was performed on any line or pipe in this city. Oh well....I did cave in and ordered the TSV for today. I think I'll use that top in place of a sweater when I have to grab something to answer the door or run outside to water the planters on the porch.

I haven't check the gas prices in our area yet but figure it will probably be a few more weeks before we see some difference. Grocery prices are improved so that's good. I'm still behind in both of those chores. We both either had some type of flu or a mild case of food posiening for the last couple of days. It feels like we're on the mend today. YIPPEE!!!

Twinny70---I'll keep you in my prayers fpr your surgery and recovery.  Good luck !! So nice to see your updates.

sydsgma1---Happy to hear that your pain is subsiding. Crossing my fingers for you. I think having a travl agent is a good idea. I traveled a good bit when I was working and it really helped make the trips less stressful. Enjoy every minute.

LindaLatte---Glad your lunch programs are going well. Hopefully your pre approval for the Sheriff's Aux. will arrive sooner than later.

Those warm temps would be too much for me but I know many enjoy them.

My  bf is still trying to sell her house in SC and still looking for a new location in the  upper north east. She can't ake the heat and her hubby can't take the cold---so it's tricky.

Have a nice afternoon/evening!

Barbara @sydsgma1  life is short and it comes at you fast.  As long as you feel comfortable that your needs will be met on the cruise, go for it.

Glenda @twinny70   So great to see you.  You have certainly 'been through it' and I will keep you in my prayers on the 13th.
