SHOPAHOLICS: ONE DAY AT A TIME (FRIDAY, NOV. 19)

[ Edited ]

Hello, shopping friends. It is a beautiful sunny day so it is hard to believe it is turning to freezing temperatures.

It is hard to believe that Thanksgiving is next week. For someone who has always been kept busy with work in the past, this Fall has passed quickly. Of course, part of that can be attributed to the  light case of Covid breakthrough. Despite the fatigue, I found a few things to do for a short period of time and alternated that with reading, TV and a coloring app. Next week is Thanksgiving break, so the local Christian school brought me a big Thanksgiving dinner since they celebrated with a dinner yesterday.

I think this is the year of electronic purchases. My cell departed its life so I had to get a new one. My Kindle e-reader is about to die as I can tell by some of its functions and how long a battery charge lasts. I just have to decide between the Oasis which has page turn buttons like my current one or the Paperwhite. I really like the convenience of the page turn buttons as you don't have to move your hand to swipe the page. I already have the new Fitbit Charge 5 ordered from Amazon. I can  justify these purchases as I use them daily.

I do have a set of long sleeved Denim and Co. tops that were a TSV on their way to me. They are replacing some worn colors I have so those can be justified also.

This is a link that might enable you to manage your money more effectively with those dealing with purchases very good. The one which enables you to get a summary of expendituresss at Amazon which is more detailed than hunting it up on the Amazon site is interesting.

Have a great day. If you shop, shop wisely.

Re: SHOPAHOLICS: ONE DAY AT A TIME (FRIDAY, NOV. 19)

Hi Everyone!

It's cooler today and cloudy. We have a few snow flurries but they are melting before making it to the ground. Great weather for me. I do have a few items that I need from the grocery store so I hope to accomplish that this afternoon.

Yesterday I vacuumed the entire house. I usually divide it up between the floors. I just wanted it done before doing errands and more wallpaper. I do have to make a list of what I have in the Christmas gift storage and what is remaing to buy.

The Corky's turkey breast and ham arrived this morning. They look good and the perfect size for us. Boy, what stress that eliminated for our holiday meals. I'll probably make the lasgane for NewYear's. I've been trying to scale it back a bit each year so I'm still on track with one thing. LOL

I noticed on the order status that the status was changed on the KG jeans. One went to waitlist and one went to advanced order. I'll wait and see what shows up at the door. This is like the foot/nail file saga. They had that on air (again) about a month ago and I ordered it (again)  I did receive it this week and the foot file works great. I think it was only a few $ more or the same price. I didn't check it but am pleased with it.

Have a good afternoon/evening.

KomKat--- It looks like those 3pack of D&co tops are on the UPS truck for delivery today for me. I sure hope they fit. Fingers crossed. Hope you like yours.

Thanks for that website info. I read that and it has some good tips to use. I've been extra focused on saving more $ for the increased costs to come and our future years. This helps with those goals.

Glad you like your electronic purchases. We still need to purchase a new computer system for hubby for the office but are waiting for the ships to pull into port. We hopefully can maintain until then. Other household purchases are on hold until stock is avail or prices become a bit more reasonable. (if ever)

@Fressa , Fressa, you are getting speedy service on that D & Co. TSV. I just checked my order status. I otrdfered a little after Midnight/. They got transferred to the UPS shipping origin by the Q and are still being processed by UPS. I guess I'll get them whenever they actually leave the UPS facility.

Re: SHOPAHOLICS: ONE DAY AT A TIME (FRIDAY, NOV. 19)

Good Morning/Afternoon and thanks for getting us started, Jean.  Looks like the link you posted has been removed.  Perhaps you can put it up on your FB page.  Glad it is sunny there. I'm sure you won't enjoy the freezing weather -- keep warm.  Hope you like the D&Co. tops.  Supposedly, my KG jeans have been sent to UPS today.  Hope we get them soon, Freeza.  Nice that you had the Thanksgiving dinner delivery, Jean.

I am considering a new Kindle paperwhite, but not sure that I will treat myself to one.  If so, I need to decide on the GB level.  Decisions, decisions.  I am concerned about my electric toothbrush that seems to need lots of charging lately.  Buying a new toothbrush may be a necessary expenditure.

Good for you getting all that vacuuming done, Freeza.  Glad you are happy with the turkey breast and ham.

I had a rushed morning because I wanted to go to the travel club meeting.  There was a presentation by a couple who went to India and Nepal.  They happened to use the same travel company that I have a credit with due to my canceled England/Scotland tour (Gate 1).  Their trip looked very nice.  But, I have pretty much decided India would be too much for me since I can get catastrophic, etc.

The leader of the group talked about her planned trip to England next month, and it sounded extremely complicated at best.  I'm just not ready to commit to overseas travel yet.

Someone else alerted us to the library giving out free COVID test kits that you can use at home -- one per person.  I took a chance, and was lucky enough to get a kit on my way home.  Nice to have just in case.

I plan to go to the gym soon, and have a Walmart pick-up for a hospice caregiver planned for this afternoon.  Not looking forward to what may be a very crowded pick-up area, but trying to stay calm.

Waves to all of our posters and readers.  Have a nice evening and sleep well.

Hugs,

Linda
