Hi Everyone!

It's overcast and cold today with the "last" snow storm predicted for this weekend. I swear it's because I actaully have flower stems popping up in the gardens. Something ate all the crocus down to the root for breakfast today. It's the one bulb I didn't order. 

Prayers and thoughts to Jean, Beverly, Barb, Declan and all  those in need for some good news and feeling better.

We filled up the Subaru Legacy the other day. $60 with a $4.20 per gallon price. We were listed as on of the top states for the highest prices for gas and food. They forgot to add prescription prices in there but I think that applies to every  state. 

I haven't done the grocery shopping for this week but I did pick up one of the pricey prescriptions. The tech told me that the "coupon" companies are now operating on a month to month pricing instead of quarterly or yearly. Today, I hope I have some idea while I'm pushing the Dyson with how to adjust the budget for that "surprise". 

If anyone is interested--HSN has a self watering garden trellis "all in one planter" on sale today for $69. It will hold 3 tomato plants or a flat of flowers. It's also on wheels. I've been looking at these for years now and this one had good reviews. The planters I had for the tomatoes fell apart this week so it was a good solution for our needs. As soon as I saw the wheels I was sold.

One of the old established restaurants in the city (famous for their corned beef sandwich) closed today. The hubby made two trips in the past two weeks to get us the sandwiches for the last time. It's always sad when these old established family businesses have to close. The bakery closed last year because none of the adult children wanted the hours and the business. We were lucky to have so many of these in our city but sadly no more. I was lucky to have two days where I had good tummy days and could eat. WOO-HOO!!! 

Our taxes are done and e-filed. Now I can put those files away in the cabinet  and move on to some other project.

Good Evening and thanks for getting us started, Fressa.  Hope the snow doesn't kill the plants that are coming up.  You, Glenda, and several others would have been very unhappy to be here today since we had our first 90 degree high day of the year.  It is about a week early.  As you probably know, I am fine with the warmer/hot weather.  The house is still cool enough that the heat came on this morning (it was only in the 40's when I got up).  

Gasoline was higher than $4.20 when I purchased it last -- I think about $4.32.  I think it was down to $4.23 the last time I looked.  DD said it was less than $4.00 in Maryland.  Still quite expensive to fill up her SUV. 

Sorry about one of your favorite restaurants going out of business.  I think a lot of small businesses, including restaurants, have closed in the past couple of years.  

I checked on my co-pay for Prolia since I had been given two different prices the last time I checked (new specialty pharmacy).  One price was double what I paid last time, but it turns out that it will be the same as 2021.  Not cheap, but.....  I am very fortunate to need only one regular Rx.

Finished up my hospice mailings this morning, and went to the gym this afternoon.  After talking to DD, I decided that with their probable move this spring, I will not try to visit until the Fall.  Hopefully, they will have moved to South Carolina and be settled by the time I visit.  This May, it will be three years since I have seen them in person.  Way too long.

P.S. I was interested in IM's TSV, but decided against them since I prefer capris, pedal pushers, or longer pants.  Somehow crops don't look very good on me (in my opinion).  Also, I don't need any more pants (I have to keep repeating this to myself.)

Hey Fressa @Fressa   I filled my gas tank earlier in the week.  I was between 1/4 and 1/2 tank (Nissan Altima).  I went with Regular Unleaded and I think it was $4.12.  Total cost $47.25.

LindaLatte---I think crop pants are an a variety of lengths and that's depending ong your leg length. Depending on the material used and if there's a slit in the leg opening it's always a guessing game. The only ones I ever liked were from the "old" Sports Savvy line. I prefer the capries and leggings for me. I also get the support for my knees. (since I'm not 20 anymore. LOL)

Birdmama---We were alternating our car use between the two Subarus just so we could run the engines for each. That was fine while gas was reasonable. Now it's not. Our new routine is he takes his Legacy to make his lunch runs and we use the Crosstrek for the errands and Home Depot supplies. That seems to be spacing out the gas fill ups a bit better. We were lucky that we switched all the lawn machines over to the battery operated versions this year. We always went thru a few gallons every other week with the yardwork.  Every dollar adds up.
