SHOPAHOLICS: ONE DAY AT A TIME (FRIDAY, JULY 14)

[ Edited ]

Good Morning/Afternoon!  I believe today is the day for Jean's procedure.  I hope that goes okay, and she has a nice lunch after the fasting ordeal.

We had a storm yesterday evening -- rain, but not at much as the previous storm.  Still good to have the rain.  It was cloudy on my walk this morning, but the sun came out by the time I reached home.  The temperatures were lovely -- in the 70's, but we are expecting highs in the mid to upper 90's today.

Great to see you posting, Kathleen.  Fingers crossed that it works out this weekend, and that you find a job you enjoy.

The hospice nurse came early yesterday (2:00), so I ended up spending a longer tie with DH than usual.  He was in a very good mood, and I really enjoyed my time with him and the caregivers.  However, one of the other residents is trying my patience.  Just don't know why she feels the need to talk and complain every minute, or at least the majority of the time.  I am sure it is some sort of mental issue, but wow!  I do feel sorry for her, but sorrier for the caregivers.

What can I say about the programming here -- three days of Christmas in July -- yikes!

I need to pick up some more eye drops for DH today, and I plan to buy some produce on sale.  Should be a quiet and nice day.

Waves to all of our posters and readers, and I hope everyone has a good Friday!

Hugs,

Linda

P.S.  Glad you love your new Kipling bag, Bernie.  I can't explain why, but you inspired me to order the same one.  I didn't need a bag, and  but I just couldn't resist.  I do have a bag that will be donated assuming that I like the bag as much as you do.

Re: SHOPAHOLICS: ONE DAY AT A TIME (FRIDAY, JULY 14)

Good afternoon ladies, hope all is well.

Linda - Thank you for starting us today.  Glad DH seems to being doing well, I know you worry a lot about him.  Glad to hear you received some well needed rain.  I wish we could send you some of ours.  Actually, it is supposed to be a nice week next week (no rain).  I am having a party this Saturday and I am hoping the rain holds off for it.

Meallan - Nice graphic.  You always find such nice and appropriate ones.   One day I will learn to post graphics.  My knowledge of the computer is limited.

I have cleaning to get done today for the party.  I do have all the food ready, I just need to pick up ice and the chicken from the store in the morning.  Pray we don't get rain.

Hope Jean has a successful test today.  Thinking about you.

Not much else to say, I have such an exciting life here.  Hope everyone has a great afternoon.

Bernie..glad you love the bag. As I said, I have 3 and like them very much...the tsv is great because it will hold my electronics and water when I travel. Enjoy.

@LindaLatte  Linda, the bag is roomy and I think you are going to love it.  Might as well get it while there is a discount and free shipping.  My monkey (named Alana - just learned they have their own names) looked orange online however it is the nicest shade of red that compliments the bag even more.  I could have gone either way - red or orange.

I hope that Jean @KonaKat is eating a good meal right about now and that nothing comes of the procedure.

  • Linda L, we have had a few storms too & today it is a fabulous 70°.  It  will be getting hot again on Monday, so I am making the most of it.  I am glad that your DH was doing better yesterday.  I also made a trip to the pharmacist.  My Emla cream was finally located.

Meallen. Nice graphic & I feel truly blessed.

Susan, enjoy your party.  I am sending some nice rain free weather your way.

Bird Mama, I am sending you some 70's.  Enjoy it while it lasts.  I love your new bag too.

After not getting my walk in for about 2 weeks, I mopeded downtown before breakfast & had a good time.  It is so nice & cool in the house that I made a SF banana bread & a batch of chocolate chip cookies.  It has been too hot to bake.  My DH is a Happy Camper!

Jean, I hope that you had a great lunch.

It is kind of a melancholy week for me.  It was 16 years ago this week that I thought that I had carpal tunnel.  My DS advised me to go to a Chiro.  After going down hill very rapidly, he told me to go to a Neurologist ASAP.  My DH & I started on the Adventure of our lives.  The first 3 years were rough, but we are truly counting our blessing's.

We are going out for dinner tonight & then my DH will be playing ball.

Hugs to all of you.

Hi everyone - also sending Jean best wishes for good test results.  twinny - your use of the word melancholy struck a chord with me.  (((hugs))) regarding ongoing health issues.  I'm feeling blue today because my DS will be leaving early tomorrow morning.  He was going to leave today but wasn't quite ready.  I hate the lead-up to someone leaving.  I think it's worse than when they actually go.  The thought of him being so far away just makes me feel kind-of sad.

Other than that, just doing run-of-the-mill stuff around the house.  Take care everyone!  ~  Charlene

CERB, Hugs to you too. I can still remember when our DS left for Boston after finishing 8 years of college. He loves History & is in the perfect place.   It was hard to say good bye for a long time, but became easier when he met his lovely wife & got married. They don't have a family, or that would still be hard.  They both have their dream jobs & Yes, he diagnosed me with CIDP over the telephone 1,300 miles away.  I thank God every day that both of our DC were in the medical field when I needed so much care. I hope that you do something fun this weekend.
