Good morning, shopping friends. The Siberian Express has resulted in plunging temperatures as well as snow on the ground. It could have waited as I have to go to the city and into an adjoining state for an appointment with the back neurosurgeon and then a physical therapy appointment. I am almost tempted to cancel but this appointment is one that takes a long time to get rescheduled if cancelled.
I didn't order the WEN TSV as I'm well supplied with the cleanser. I did, however, order A284391 the Light Body Treatment and EDP set as well as A289117 the EDP Sampler set. Yes, I got the notice on the settlement but I'm not responding as I have had no problems.
Remember the McDonald's lawsuit that resulted in all those warnings on cups? A week before that lady had spilled her coffee, I did the same thing. It never dawned upon me that I should sue. I knew the coffee was hot but took a chance, spilled it and was burned. It never once dawned upon me to sue a company because I took a chance and got "burned." With any product, if I see something developing, I don't continue to use it. Duh!!!
This has been a season of my being good to myself with buying. Part of it is a result of "feel good" spending while dealing with the PT, etc. Even today, when I fork over the money for the co-pay for the specialist, I'll be thinking of what I could buy with it. The spending brakes have to be applied now.
Since there is snow on the ground, I need extra time to travel to the appointment in the other state 60+ miles away, so I need to get out the door. Needless to say, snow is not my favorite weather condition when crooked roads are involved
Have a good day. If you shop, shop wisely.

Snicks---I totally agree with you about individual responsibility. Oh, I know when to put on the spending brakes. I seem to do mine in spurts as needed. The TSV is a great value but I don't need it as I have a supply from previous offerings. I'm not one that keeps a huge supply of bottles. I also agree that Linda is having a great trip and one very deserved.
I am now out the door. Have a great day

Good Morning ladies..
First off..has anybody touched base with Funkyhulagirl? I often read/enjoyed her daily updates. lol
That said I had to comment on the McDonald's lawsuit.
I know somebody who actually worked on the initial litigation. So I have followed and researched the outcome myself as an interest.
The lady was 79-years old, suffered severe burns, and spent eight-days in the hospital, had skin grafts, lost twenty-pounds along with being in medical treatment almost two-years after.
She only contacted McDonalds to pay for her medical bills at the time a bit under $11,000 and all they would offer was $800... Also up to that point they had on record that the attorney could find over 700 complaints of how hot the coffee was with varying degrees of reports of burns and had setteled some claims for half million bucks, so this wasn't their first rodeo.
McDonalds at the time wanted the coffee to be around 180/190 degrees so that it would stay hot for commuters. Industry standards vary but they all still serve coffee in those temps. The difference is today the cups are more thermal and you have guards you can place on them.
Yes, we all know coffee is hot..especially when driving. But to me if you sustain such serious medical injury from the hot coffee..they should of stepped up and did the right thing. The jury found McDonalds 80% responsible. By their own testimony if anybody actually swallowed the coffee that hot - they could sustain very serious injury. Investigation noted that coffee that hot could burn the skin severely in seconds.
I found this case very fascinating and followed the details. Not just the sensationalized details the media likes to report lol..but the facts that warranted settlements.
Hope everybody has a great day!

Morning, Thanx @KonaKat for the start, please drive safely, weather conditions are worsening all over, I'll get out soon as it has started to snow, wasn't supposed to happen till tomorrow.
@Snicks1 I agree with both of you, c'mon folks take responsilbility for your own actions, I've done many stupid things in my lifetime but never sued because of the results.
That's about it, have to get moving to beat the weather, see ya later

Hi everyone! - Jean - please stay safe as you travel in the snow, and hope that you get all your errands done. In regards to shopping - I definitely find that stress can trigger flare-ups of shopping too much, or eating too much, for me. As long as it's just a little indulgence and I get back on track, it's not such a big deal. I'm still learning how to be aware and present when I'm dealing with stress, and although it's a process, I think I've made good improvement. Snicks - what kind of dog do you have? I'd want to stay inside too, lol. Essie - I think it's nice that you had the repair work done to your DD's Blazer. A stitch in time saves nine. Linda - It sounds like you're enjoying your trip to Prescott. Glad to hear DH is doing alright.
Tuesday was a fun day for me. My DH and I drove to a nearby town and went through their antique stores. My DH bought a few things for me as Christmas gifts. We bought a gold colored sugar and creamer set by Pickard, which are a perfect match to an antique vase of mine that had belonged to a great aunt. The other rather odd piece we bought, is an old brass figural candleholder, with 2 palm trees and a camel. It's half ugly and half cool-looking, lol. It reminds us of our county fair, which also happens to be the national date festival, because of the date palm trees that grow there. My DH and I had our first date there, and my DH and DD both showed their livestock at that fair. Looking at that candleholder brings back good memories. We also had a nice lunch nearby, and then did some Christmas gift shopping. (Still have quite a few more gifts to purchase.) Long day, but pleasant.
Yesterday was another potluck with my Bible study group, and the last time we meet until after the new year. Today I am going to wrap some Christmas gifts and watch corny Hallmark Christmas movies. I've been dealing with headaches again, so I'm planning on pacing myself.
Hoping you all have a pleasant day - waves to all ~ Charlene

My dog is part Jack Russell, part Beagle, they call them Jack-A-Be's,(sp). She's so funny, makes me laugh so often. Thanks for asking about her.

@CouponQueen--Thanks for the details on the McDonald's lawsuit. I was not aware of the specific details and it sounds as if the woman was justified especially when she was seeking recovery for medical bills, etc. In regards to your inquiry regarding FHG, she and I are friends on Facebook. She is ok but said she was just taking a break from posting here. I think she is just evaluating the future. Many who once posted here have not for a period of time but touch base on Facebook.
@Berlybaby--I will let Funky Hula Girl know that she is missed. Thank you for commenting.
@cerb--Charelene, it sounds as if you had a wonderful day. You deserve a day out like that which great discoveries and be made and just relaxing for a day designed just for you and DH.
@meallen616--Another great graphic! Online shopping at this time of year is the best.
@spix--Always good to see you posting. Have a great day!
I am home from the city, the doctor's appointment and physical therapy. I don't go back to the neuro back person for six months. There was a definite possibility that I would have to have surgery but it appears that the PT is helping to correct the problem. He is one who does not like to operate unless absolutely necessary.
I had planned to go to WalMart but was tired when I got out of PT and decided I was in no mood to try to find a parking place and then fight the crowds. Because of traffic at this time of the year, it took me over twice the time to get from the doctor's office to the PT place. It normally only takes 20 minutes but today it took 40 minutes. This is the reason I like to avoid that place during the "Jolly, Ho Ho" season; traffic and crowds are not my cup of tea when I want to get things done quickly.
