SHOPAHOLICS: ONE DAY AT A TIME ((FRIDAY, AUG. 7)

Good afteroon, shopping friends. I am debating the TSV jacket, but did order the SG pants that were on sale. I already have a pair so I know they work well for me.

I was up at the usual 5am, and after breakfast, started going through things to see what needed to go. I confess to finding in a travel folder, a receipt for a hotel room in Hawaii for 2015 as well as one for a hotel where I stayed near the airport in my state before catching the early morning flight. I obviously haven't looked at that folder for  years, and it had slipped down under some other folders. I am a collector of memories just in case it is ever needed, but rarely is.

If I go for the TSV, I have to admit to liking the snake print  but for cost effectiveness, the wine and the black would get more wearings. I'm just debating the size. Yes, I read the "click here" measurements but that isn't always true for me.

I am tired as I've been going through things all day, and have a pile of things on the floor to organize back, as well as a trash bag full of shredded material, etc. Later this evening,  I plan to finish picking up the hedge trimmings that are currently hiding behind the hedges. It was just too hot the days I trimmed to do the whole job.

Have a great day. If you shop, shop wisely. If you venture out, do so safely. How is your day? Take a minute and let us know!! Enjoy!!

Re: SHOPAHOLICS: ONE DAY AT A TIME ((FRIDAY, AUG. 7)

Good afternoon ladies, hope all is well.

Jean - Thank you for starting us today.  I ordered the Blue and Black in the TSV.  After looking at a few of my blazers, I realized the elbows are starting to go.  These are Denim and Company Blazers from many years ago.   Take it easy cleaning up your yard.  DH and I were out cutting grass a little bit ago and it was hot.  It did not seem so hot when we werer having coffee on the deck, but it was.

Not much going on here today, just washing clothes and did the grocery shopping this morning.  I do need to get some clothes out the dryer, have a good afternoon everyone.

Re: SHOPAHOLICS: ONE DAY AT A TIME ((FRIDAY, AUG. 7)

Jean, I like to get up earlier this time of the year, but not much before 6:00 a.m.   Our weather has been in the 70's all week, but we will be in the low-mid 80's starting this afternoon & lasting for about 10 days.  I like animal prints & the jacket is very pretty.   I have a folder that I like to keep motel/campground receipts in just in case we want to go back again.

Yesterday, I had a dental appointment to see how the healing process is going.  It's going  well, so on my next appointment in three weeks, the dentist is going to  start the process of making a crown.  After the crown is put in, he will make the impression for the partial.  I am a work in progress,  but 3 more appts & I will be done.  My dentist is very nice, so I am glad for that.  I have had the fear of going to the dentist since I was a little kid.

Linda L, I was thinking about you yesterday.  We did our grocery shopping in the morning and my DH wanted me to buy a few extra ripe 🍌🍌🍌 for banana bread.  I only made one though.  Prayers that your dgd gets a diagnosis from the neurologist soon.

I walked this morning and then did a little bit of looking at things put out on the Square for our yearly Maxwell Street Days.  Nothing interested me which was a good thing.  It used to be so much fun when we were young kids and would always be looking for "stiff slips" to wear under our Poodle skirts.

We had a nice time in the hot tub before a  light lunch as we are meeting our eldest dgs and his Dad for a fish fry about 30 minutes from here.  It's a carryout only restaurant, so we will be safe distancing at a nearby park.

Hugs to all of you.

Susan, enjoy your new jackets.  My DH just got done mowing the lawn and is heading to the city garage with yard waste.  We did our grocery shopping yesterday morning and then I hung out two big loads of laundry.  I picked a lot of tomatoes a couple of days ago.  I cooked and froze two quarts, but we ate most of them.  They are my favorite things to eat in the summertime.  Peaches, plums, nectarines & watermelon too.

Re: SHOPAHOLICS: ONE DAY AT A TIME ((FRIDAY, AUG. 7)

Hi Everyone!

It's hot and sunny today and more the same in the forecast. I think it's too hot for weeding the gardens for me. I may attempt one corner at a time over the weekend but that will be after I install the fence webbing for the hosta and hedges. It looks strong so I hope it works as a deterent for the deer buffet.

Today was a paperwork day. I have to file for a copy of my birth certificate because the original was lost in a fire. I have a birth registration but that doesn't count for the Read I D requirements. Who knew? I waited hours for my number to be called and then was informed I needed to file for a copy of birth and also have my divorce papers, etc. I hope I have the forms correct. It always makes me a little nervous and hesitate with such personal information on line but I can't go to the location. Fingers crossed.

I did pick up prescriptions and accomplish some heavy grocery shopping yesterday. I'll have a few more prescriptons coming due in the next week but I'm hoping just to pick them up and not need any groceries. The same sections were still sparse--soup, rice, paper products, cleaning products and some frozen. I saw an article that said Lysol wipes and cleaners would not be fully stocked until 2021.Not sure if that is true but it sure sounds odd.

This week wasn't one of my most productive with projects or regular household chores. Vet appointments, prescription pickup and doctors consumed the time. One more week and I can get back on track. Once in awhile I think it's good to slow it down a bit. I'm a "work in progress" with that task. LOL

Stay safe & comfy

Have a good afternoon/evening.

Re: SHOPAHOLICS: ONE DAY AT A TIME ((FRIDAY, AUG. 7)

[ Edited ]

Good Afternoon/Evening and thanks for getting us started, Jean.  That is an early wake-up time for you.  Currently, I am getting up around 5:20 -- mostly so that I can take my walk before it is just too hot.  Another hot and dry day here, and another day I am happy that I have my new AC.

I have not been ordering from the Q lately since I usually order clothing, and I already have so much.  But, I have been looking for a navy blazer (petite, washable, and packable) for more than a year.  When I saw the TSV was coming up today, I pre-ordered it.  Hope I like it, and it fits well.  While it is certainly not needed at this point, I find a blazer a great addition for travel and even for going out to lunch in restaurants with strong AC.

Try not to overdo in the yard.

Hi Susan, I guess we will be sort of twins regarding the blazer.  Glad you got your grocery shopping done.

Glad your dental appointment went well yesterday, twinny.  Have fun with your SIL and DGS at the fish fry.  I have to say I love fried cod, but I am really trying to reduce my cholesterol.  Maybe in a few weeks I will give myself permission (as my late husband used to say) to indulge at Culver's.  I have never been to the newish Culver's locally, but did go once at another location, and yum.

Sorry you had all that trouble getting your birth certificate, Fressa.  I don't have my Real ID yet, but hope to get it late this year or early next year.  I have a passport which I think will work, but I'm not flying anywhere so it doesn't really matter at this time.  Sorry it is hot there.

Nor sure if I shared it yesterday, but my middle nephew, Steve, who is undergoing chemo developed pneumonia and was rushed to the hospital on Wednesday.  He does not have the virus (thank goodness), and fortunately, they were able to get his fever down, etc.  He will be able to go home tomorrow.

My poor DGD still doesn't know what is causing her issues.  Today she was told to have more tests (outpatient at the hospital) and see three more specialists.  Fortunately, she was able to get appointments with two specialists next week, but no luck with the third so far, and she has not been able to set an appointment for the testing yet.  DD said that she was working since she is running low on leave, etc.

I did my hospice work this morning, and then had my Zoom class on Anglo Saxon history.  I heard from my "work" buddy that her Mom's house and car has sold, and she is happily living in an assisted living home in California.  I know that is a big relief.

Waves to all of our posters and readers.  Hope everyone has a nice evening and sleeps well.

Hugs,

Linda

ETA -- Just learned that my nephew David passed away today.  May he rest in peace.

Thanks, Susan.  He was in hospice, but I am shocked at how quickly he passed.
