Good morning, shopping friends. I was up slightly before 5am, and have been using the time to organize a few things with breaks. I got the results from the MRI posted online before my referring doctor had time to get them. I need to "see" an orthopedic but we all know that isn't much of a reality now. His office said he would review the information and the office would contact me with recommendations.
The governor will be having his daily press conference at Noon. So far, we have 217 confirrmed cases, with 2 deaths. Our state's peak is expected to be the last of April or beginning of May depending upon how people follow the guidelines. It will be a long month.
The lawn person contacted me and will start doing my lawn the week after Easter. I have already taken the money fors each mowing and put it in separate envelopes. When he comes to do the lawn, I will put the envelope out on the deck for him to collect his money.
The price of groceries is escalating. The last eggs I bought were $1,75; they are now over $4. I noticed when I last bought instant oatmeal, my breakfast go to, the price had increased. The local supermarket is no longer putting an ad in the local paper as the suppliers are not guaranteeing the sale price that the supermarket passes on to its customers.
I haven't bought any clothing or anything from the Q since buying the Denim & Co. jacket. There is no "fun" buying now as the increasing prices on required things such as food puts a limit on it. The only thing that has decreased in price is the price of gasoline, but we can't take advantage of it to go anywhere except for meds or groceries or an essential job.
Have a great day. If you shop, shop wisely.

Hello Ladies, sounds like you have gotten a lot accomplished Jean so far today. It is a strange day here....it pours rain then the sun try's to come out etc...very Windy too and chilly. I can hear the wind howling thru the trees out back. Our lawn people were here last Sat. For the spi g clean up.....they said we are about a month ahead of time as for things growing etc.
I think we have 51 cases in our town and 4 have died....I don't know how many in total in Ct. although they re saying our state will be the next hot spot . I did run out Wednesday and the store was just about empty...I saw people walking around with t p. And paper towels in their carts but I didn't need any.
Susan glad your DH is home and hope he is doing better and also Laverne.
Twinny good luck on your infusion on Monday. Stay safe everyone....Marijane

Jean, it sounds like you are busy getting a few things done around the house. It will be interesting to see what the recommendations for the mri are. I hope that my DH doesn't have to mow the lawn before next month. Probably will be sooner though. I don't know when our state is supposed to peak, but it will be a long month here too. My DH got me 2 dozen eggs for 99¢ each yesterday & a 5# bag of flour for $1.15. Both from Aldi's. My bf in a neighboring town can't find flour right now and she paid over $3.00 for a dozen eggs.
Marijane. It sounds like you are getting all kinds of weather. It was nice, sunny and in the low 60's yesterday. Today it's cloudy, going to rain this afternoon and evening, but still in the low 60's. It sounds like you are getting ready for spring lawn care. I don't know how many cases we have in our state. It scares me to watch too much on the TV anymore. Thanks for your good wishes for my infusion on Monday.
Nananana59, we miss our 3 teenage gdc too & it makes me sad. They live 1 1/4 hours away. We were hoping to have an Easter egg hunt, but that won't happen anytime soon. The good thing is that they are taking things seriously and hunkering down at home. We do email back and forth so we do know what they are doing. The 2 HS ones are more bored with doing online classes. Our dgs in college has more homework to do, but isn't happy about not being able to finish the semester.
I am going to have an easy 3 day weekend. It's a cloudy day so I don't want to sew. We are soon going to Culver's drive thru to get lunch. It's supposed to be nice and 🌞🌞🌞 tomorrow. Maybe I can sit on the front porch with a good book.
Hugs to all of you.

@nana59My heart breaks for you. It is such a difficult time; we can only hope that this will end and that you will have a joyful time reuniting. In the meantime, the pain persists.
@Genny1Marijane--You are really having odd weather and the lawns, etc are reflecting it. I haven't been to the store for almost a week but it was well stocked but with higher prices. I confess that I did get a package of tp. I really hope your state doesn't become a hot spot.
Twinny--I do hope you can enjoy your book as well as the lunch. I know yoiu miss your family but texting, calls, etc. can help but aren't the same as seeing and talking to them in person.
Hot spots? The Eastern Panhandle of our state is near Washington, D.C. Apparently, several cases have suddenly developed in the area near D.C. I could do some more work but I'm feeling an urge to read.

Hi Everyone!
It's sunny, cool and windy here. Not too bad. High pollen counts yesterday, today and tomorrow. My migraines are bad but that's normal for this time of year. I plan on distracting myself by doing some checkbook and paperwork balancing and maybe a storage project in the work room.
The doctor's office is rescheduling all appointments starting witht he month of June just to get everyone back on the books. The doctor's schedule will remain open until the dates are confrimed by the government. I received confrimation that the end dates on my prescriptions will be extended (if needed) under our current guidelines. That was my #1 concern.
I did order the spray hand sanitizer from QVC this am. I just ordered one set to have on hand for when we handle delieveries from the mail, Ups, groceries or take outs. I was trying to review what routines we have and if we needed to pay more attention to something. There's quite a bit of information floating each day but I try to focus on the specifics in my area. I find it keeps me calmer. At least, that's my system for us.
I have a few plant orders to arrive but do not have the gardens ready...yet. At the last minute I cancelled two orders because I saw shoots appearing in two planters that remained bare last year. ( I told you I have a camo gardening thumb) ha ha!! It's always a surprise to see some thing flower. We are still have temp drops into the 30/40's at night so that still isn't planting weather here. I'm hoping I still have some time to get the outside in shape.
I haven't see too much Qvc but I do have my eye on an Issac sweater. I think it might work as a nice topper for a dressy occasion. I'm not crazy about the price so I'm going to think about it for a day. I'll probably kick myself later because that's how I missed out on the Linea jacket that I had my eye on. It's always a gamble but I am really trying not to purchase any wants but just needs. (the exception being if the price is too good to ignore.....)LOL
Stay safe and comfy. Have a good afternoon/eveing.

Good afternoon everyone
My JCP order was delivered yesterday and it's good that no one was recording the gyrations I was going through in the attached garage to get the package open ![]()
I'm so pleased with my purse. It's a warmer taupe color and the flowers really pop!
My sister will be swinging by after work to pick up a few things that I bought for her grocery wise. I will put them on the porch and only see her through the glass in the storm door so I understand how you feel @nana59

Good Afternoon and thanks for getting us started, Jean. Hope you don't have to wait too long to get pain relief. At least you got the MRI results.
Yesterday, I was able to pick up a homemade mask, and the lady who made it had put them on her windowsill and a rock under which you could put a contribution. She is one busy person. But, is running out of elastic, and having some trouble (and expense) getting more.
Our local hospital (small and opened in 2015), which went bankrupt a few years ago is warning that they may close for good unless they can handle virus cases. No one is having voluntary surgery, and most are afraid to go to the ER. The State will need to decide if they can become a center for virus patients. Yikes!
This morning, I attended a "birthday party" for a former co-worker via Zoom. It was good to see some people I had not seen for 10 years or more, but there were some technical problems. They may try to get groups together in the future.
After the "party" I went to Sprouts and Wal Mart. The bad news is that I lost one of my hearing aids. I think putting on the mask, plus sunglasses on top of regular glasses was just too difficult. I discovered this after I was walking to Wal Mart. I didn't make it too far in the parking lot when I realized what had happened. I searched the parking lot and went back to Sprouts (first store) and searched -- also left my name in case someone finds it, but.... Really upsetting. Since I had lost one on my trip to DC last spring, they told me that if I lost one again, my warranty would not cover the cost. As is was, I had to pay $300 for a replacement.
I will keep looking, but I am seriously considering doing without one hearing aid until my insurance will pay for new ones (August, I think). It may be August or even later before I get back into regular volunteering, meetings, etc., and I can go back to turning up the TV and radio high. Still, I'm pretty stressed.
I noticed that the price of eggs had increased at Sprouts, but were not bad at Wal Mart. But, both stores were lacking in toilet paper, cleaners, etc., and extremely low in beans, flour, soup, pasta, etc., etc. Glad that I am okay with of those things for the time being.
Hope your DH is home and doing okay, Susan.
Your area certainly seems like a "hot spot" for the virus at the moment, Marijane. Sorry your weather has been weird.
Waves to twinny, Bernie, Fressa, and all of our posters and readers. I have to believe that this will pass, and we can go back to seeing our friends and loved ones in person.
Have a nice evening and continue to stay safe.
Hugs,
Linda
