Re: SHOPAHOLICS: ONE DAY AT A TIME (EASTER SUNDAY, 4/5)

LL, I didn't know that your college girl's basketball team was also in the final 4. Good luck to them too. Susan, good luck as you are finishing up your paint job. Cerb, yes it is maddening to be in your situation. I also have my battles with my mom concerning her eye sight & going up & down the basement steps as she sees very poorly yet & has no fear of falling. I just have to bite my tongue at times & pray for the best. Snickster, happy Easter to you too. Bird Mama, cute lambs. Hope you have a nice lunch too.

Re: SHOPAHOLICS: ONE DAY AT A TIME (EASTER SUNDAY, 4/5)

Hi girls!

Happy Resurrection Day, and Happy Passover! {#emotions_dlg.thumbup}

It's a bit cloudy today, and the temps are cooler than they have been, but I have no plans to do anything special so it really doesn't matter. I got big ham bones for the dogs from Amazon as a special treat - they were an add-on item and $2.24 each, which is less than half what a comparable size would cost in Publix or Tractor Supply; I was surprised at how large they are. Remember when you'd get bones from the butcher for free? Now they're usually $4.99 - $9.99, and some even more. {#emotions_dlg.crying} I forgot to pick up chicken livers for the kitties' extra treat; I'll give them double food for dinner.

Jean, I agree the Big Island is the best one to live on, as it's large enough to be able to take a long drive and has so many different climate zones. I can only imagine how built-up it's gotten since I left; last time I talked to a particular friend from there she was telling me about all the new construction.

Bird, that lamb "card" looks oddly familiar...I remember those from when I was a little girl.

I don't much care for robes; when I do wear one it's a shorter one. A few years ago I got some zipper front terry jacket-style robes from JCP and like those, as they don't get in the way - in fact, I have one on right now, as it's a bit cool.

Well, I guess I should give some thought as to what I'm going to make to eat today. I bought some burgers in Aldi, defrosted a cube steak, and also have two kinds of shrimp. My energy level is low; these wild fluctuations in temperature are really doing me in.

Have a blessed day, everyone!

Re: SHOPAHOLICS: ONE DAY AT A TIME (EASTER SUNDAY, 4/5)

Good evening, everyone! It was a beautiful day to be out and about. Lunch at the Outback was excellent, and we spent 2-1/2 hours there talking and eating. We have out special little place we usually use, and if the place is super busy, we watch for the need to release the table. Regardless, because of the time we spend, the server always gets adequately rewarded. I'm not saying we eat there often, but they know us well.

Susan--I go down for pre-admission testing on a Tuesday in June. They will put us up in the Medical Center Inn for the night as I have to check in at 5:30am for the procedure that begins at 7am. I'm expected to be in the hospital for two nights, coming home on Friday. We may stay elsewhere on Tuesday night as I don't want to listen to trains all night. The back side of the Inn faces railroad tracks on a hill behind it.

Bird--Love the lambs. I hope your visit with family was super enjoyable. I have a feeling you spoil the nieces.

Charlene--I hope the family visit went well. I grew up in a small family, so when we went to huge family reunions with all the chatter, noise, etc., it was also uncomfortable after a period of time.

Linda--Your comment about not wearing robes often except when going out to get the mail, etc. probably reflects what most people around here do. I remember years ago when I was in college, we would put our coats on over our pjs to go for breakfast when we had a late class.

Arlene--I really don't like robes either. I just wear them when I have to. The weekend was made brighter by your thoughtful gifts. Cube steak sounds fabulous. I used to fix it often. Be careful; the dogs might also like it!
