Good Morning/Afternoon! Another hot day here, with a high of 98 degrees expected. It is difficult for me to get into the Fall mood with these temperatures. And, I certainly don't need any new shoes, clothes, etc.
I heard from Jean that her orthopedic doctor wasn't happy with the number of degrees in the bend of the knee as it isn't straight. She will be working on it and returns to the doctor in three weeks.
Glad you are finding ways to get around and do more, Bernie. What a long and difficult journey. Good thing you are resourceful and determined.
I needed a new water pik as well, Barbara. But, I ordered mine from Amazon. Glad you were able to walk for so long and are happy with your new crown.
Waves to Fressa, Susan, Glenda, and all of our posters and readers.
Not sure if I mentioned it, but I am getting the new COVID vaccine today. That is the only "exciting" thing I have planned. Laundry is going and I am doing my regular Saturday chores.
Hope everyone has a nice evening. Please post if you have a chance.
Hugs,
Linda

Linda @LindaLatte I can't imagine 98 degrees at this time of year. God Bless Ya.
Fall and winter are my favorite seasons for clothing and accessories. Since I tend to build an outfit from the shoes up it's hard for me to get excited when closed in shoes aggravate my right foot. As it is, I will probably need to buy a new pair of larger and wider winter boots to make it through the season.
These knee doctors expect the extraordinary regarding range of motion when it comes to the knee. I say this as someone who went through knee surgery almost 40 years ago. You would think that they would be patient with their older patients and understand that range of motion will come, just not as fast as it would for a 20 to 30 year old.

Hi Everyone!
It's sunny but a bit cool. The forecast predicts hot temps by lunch. Fall is arriving in "baby steps" but I'll take any amount of a cool breeze. I did get a few Fall decorations and pumpkins on the front porch and ifront part of the house. I'm not sure if I'll do more because it depends if I actually get to the painting project.
LindaLatte----Thanks for the update on Jean. I still believe that any progress forward is always a good thing.
Good luck with your covid shot.
Today we're doing some outside chores and trying to make decisions on where to purchas the dogs prescriptions. Chewy has the better price but I've been having issues with them not filling the prescriptions for as many refills as the vet prescribes. What a mess.
I have the next donation stack in the corner of the spare room. I just need to make my list, bag it and make the appointment. I did declutter and reorganize the under sink cabinets in the kitchen and two bathrooms. I was hoping to gain some space but that didn't amount to anything. At least the bottles, etc. are in storage cubes so it will be easier to access whatever I need.
Have a good afternoon/evening.

Good Afternoon/Evening! Another hot day here (high of 98 degrees predicted) and it is expected to reach 100 degrees the next few days. The only positive weather news is that it should be cooler in the mornings again. It was pretty hot today.
Jean mentioned that the physical therapist had a plan that would help her improve faster, but she was going with her own (slower) plan instead. I'm sure glad I haven't had to have a knee operation, at least so far.
Fall shopping used to be a fun time for me. I guess it started when my parents were able to buy me a new outfit in the Fall rather than wear my older cousin's hand-me-downs. So much fun. Shoes were usually a problem since I had short and narrow feet, but I enjoyed new school shoes for sure. Sorry this year Fall shopping won't be much fun for you Bernie.
Good luck with deciding on where to buy your dogs medicine, Fressa. Those sorts of things can be very complicated. Last week, I went through quite a mess with getting my doctor's pre-approval for Prolia in November. Long story short, I think it may be in process, but it has required at least six phone calls to the doctor's office plus one to the specialty pharmacy. Also, I went to the doctor's office with the information. They told me that they had received the same letter, and were in process of getting approval. Exhausting.
I managed to do more chores than usual yesterday, which makes me happy. My arm is still sore from the COVID shot, but not many other issues. I am sneezing quite a bit and have a runny nose, but I think that is just due to seasonal allergies.
Waves to Bernie, Fressa, Barbara, Susan. Glenda (hope you can post soon, continue to pray for you), and all of our posters and readers.
Hope everyone sleeps well.
Hugs,
Linda

good morning everyone it is another lovely day in beautiful North Dakota. I know these days are gonna be a few and for between in the near future so I am enjoying my windows open and going to sit outside and read later this afternoon
I'm go going to have to rest more today because all of my moving and twisting and turning is really bothering my back. I will take a walk eventually and go outside for a while
I've been invited to a couple of informal groups who meet and chat, so I'm taking everyone up on their offer. It is a good way to get to meet people
Linda your heat report does not seem to be going the right way 🥵 I am still contemplating trying to get a place for a month in my old community. I need to make some calls later this week .
this is my laugh of the day. My dentist suggested getting a water flossers which I went out and purchased after my appointment last week. It had to charge for day so the first time I actually tried. It was Saturday. First time I did not realize what was involved and ended up springing my whole bathroom with water which I had to clean up
I reread the directions and figured out how to do it I think but it provides a very nice face wash if I don't do it correctly lol😂🤩
I am so sorry to hear t that Jean is having such a tough recovery. getting that knee band is so important especially the older you are and it does take time . is too bad. She can't get rehab in a facility. I know she was in one before I have a friend whose mother did not do her exercises and is now confined to a wheelchair because she has no bend in her knee. J Jean has the fortitude to overcome this.
I continue to pray for Glenda. she also has a difficult recovery. 🙏🙏

Birdmama----You'll so right about some doctors and common sense. Most of them seem to be in the "one size/plan" fits all patients no matter the age of the patiet or what part is broen. I find it frustrating and annoying.
Good luck!

LindaLatte--Thanks for the update on Jean. I hope she takes her own advice and progresses at her own pace.
Your weather sounds too hot for me. I'm a winter person so clearly I'm living in the wrong state. LOL The forecast this week a bit of a heat wave. (for us) The nights are predicted to be a bit cool so hopefully I'll get a break with the a/c and fans for the dogs running 24/7.
I had called the vet pharmacy on Saturday to discuss the dogs prescriptions and checked prices at Chewy as well. I advised the vet pharmacy regarding the prescrption refill date "issue" for any future refill problems. Crossing my fingers that all goes well. At the worse, the dogs should have medication thru the year so that's good. Crossing my finges and toes.
Hope you are feeling some relief from the allergies. Mine are going crazy even with medication so they m;ust be worse than usual this year. UGH!! Hope your arm pain is improving.

sydsgma1--
So nice to see your post. What a nice option to have the informal groups. It's good to have a few choicea.
I sprayed myself when I purchased the first WaterPik. I've never been good with mechanics so between the settings and the brush/floss it was a "learning curve". LOL

Sorry I am so late in posting. It was a busy hospice day, and then I spent time trying to deal with several notifications I received about my social security number and date of birth being on the "dark web". They had some old information, including a different address, phone number, etc., but I am trying to make sure that I don't have any problems. Reaching all three credit bureaus is proving difficult. but I'll keep trying.
Also received a phishing email and text message plus a fake "friend" request on Facebook today. Some of these are pretty easy to spot, but others not so much.
Hope you took it easy today, Barbara. It would be nice to get together if you do make it back to AZ. I have used a water flosser for years. The dentist I went to in Mexico recommended it since I have some crowns that make flossing by hand difficult. I still manage to spray the room sometimes when I forget to aim the flosser into my mouth before turning it on. It was cooler this morning, but the temperatures are higher than normal. Glad you are enjoying the nice weather in North Dakota.
Sounds like you have a solution to your dog prescription problem, Fressa. It is a shame that it takes a while to arrange things. Hope your weather cools down soon.
Waves to Bernie, Susan, Glenda (hope you are improving), and all of our posters and readers.
Hope you slept/sleep well.
Hugs,
Linda

Linda
you may have been caught in a phishing scheme with your ss number. You might want to call ss or go to an office.
yikes. 🥰
