SHOPAHOLICS ON DAY AT A TIME (SATURDAY, September 14th)

Good Afternoon!  So glad you are driving again, Bernie.  That is a nice purse that you ordered.

It was cool, but a bit humid on my walk this morning.  Not too bad, and I walked a little further than the past few days.  When I was having the dizziness problem, I had cut back.  After my walk, I went to my favorite thrift store to drop off a few things that need a new home.  Then, I started the laundry and had breakfast.  Just regular chores planned for the rest of the day.

DH's older DGD called to thank me for her birthday card and check.  I sent her a personalized card since she turned 21 last month.  She was out of the country for her birthday (internship? in Central America), and now will be headed back to college.  I really appreciate her phone calls.

Free shipping is always a trigger for me, but so far nothing has sparked my interest.  Good thing since I don't need any clothes, shoes, bags, cosmetics, etc.

Waves to Bernie, Fressa, Barbara, Susan, Glenda, and all of our posters and readers.

Have a nice evening and please post if you have a chance.

Hugs,

Linda

Re: SHOPAHOLICS ON DAY AT A TIME (SATURDAY, September 14th)

Hi Everyone!

I'm behind on posting but I've been keeping up with reading everyon's posts. Our weather has been bouncing back and forth between late summer and early Fall. The dogs and I decided it's Fall. Allergies are in full bloom (even with medication.)

Yesterday was bath(shower) day for the dogs. Today is "recover" from bath day. LOL

We are patching the ceiling in the living room today and then another coat of plaster tomorrow or Tuesday. Crossing my fingers this works. This afternoon I'm getting the donation stack ready for pick up. I have lots of bedding and clothes that need a new home. There's no sense in keeping it here if it doesn't fit and we reduced the number of bedrooms.

Believe it or not Friday was the first time I used the order on line and pick up grocery option. Good way to restock the panty and save me some time in the store.( It works better with my allergies and breathing issues. I don't know why it took me so long to try it but it worked well for me. The grocery store expanded their lot so the pick up lot is away from the regular parking. So much easier to get in and out.

The free shipping got the better of me and I ordered 2 sets of L&L pantry containers.  I have more items that I'm buying in bulk and had to use multiple small containers. I was always missing something that I should have put on the list.

Have a good afternon/evening.

Re: SHOPAHOLICS ON DAY AT A TIME (SATURDAY, September 14th)

Good Afternoon!  Sorry about your (and the dogs) allergy issues, Fressa.  I seem to be doing better the past couple of days, but allergies can certainly be a problem.  Hope your house repairs go well.  Good for you in the de-cluttering/donating. I need to do more myself, but motivation can be a problem.

Seems like you will put the L&L containers to good use.  I was almost tempted to order the seasonal pie carrier, but resisted since I already have a pie carrier that I very rarely use.

That is funny about your not doing the grocery pick-up before.  During COVID, I didn't dare go into Walmart, so that was the norm for me.  Since I didn't often buy the minimum amount for free pick-up at the grocery, I never did it there.  But, my DD regularly does grocery pick-ups.  I think that I would save money if I didn't go into Walmart since I am always finding extras to buy.  But, I enjoy seeing new things.  Some of the clothing is pretty nice and reasonably priced, and I like to check things out.  My DD said that she was able to find some jeans there for less than $20 and fit perfectly.

We are expecting a high of 92 degrees with a 50% chance of thunderstorms.  So far, it is mostly sunny and hot.

Church was very enjoyable, and I plan to go to the gym soon.  Hope to do a bunch of cleaning and some cooking later today.

Waves to Fressa, Bernie, Barbara, Susan, Glenda, and all of our posters and readers.

Hope everyone has a nice evening.

Re: SHOPAHOLICS ON DAY AT A TIME (SATURDAY, September 14th)

Good Evening!  We ended up having thunderstorms yesterday evening with some much-needed rain.  It was a little cooler today with a high of 90 degrees.  They are predicting a high of 89 tomorrow and cool in the morning.

I spent most of the day doing hospice activities -- visiting a patient and in the office.

Hope everyone sleeps well.

Re: SHOPAHOLICS ON DAY AT A TIME (SATURDAY, September 14th)

It's been quiet and uneventful in my part of the world Woman Happy   I drove myself to the annual endocrinologist appointment yesterday.  No changes in my RX  - it's been the same low dose since 2013.

I get around the house unaided these days.  I haven't gotten to the point of storing the walkers in the basement yet.  There remains one on every floor, just in case.  I rehomed the medline mobility scooter and crutches - neither felt stable to me or worked for me.

Re: SHOPAHOLICS ON DAY AT A TIME (SATURDAY, September 14th)

Hi Everyone!

Today is cloudy and a bit cool. YIPPEE!!! Hopefully it will remain this way all day. I'm counting the weeks before I can turn the a/c off.

The other day the wind gusts got the better side of the bistro patio umbrella. Fortunately, I had one in storage we could use. That umbrella sheilds the sun from the large family window. I learned from the previous storms that usually one umbrella doesn't make it thru multiple seasons.

Birdmama--So good to hear that you're moving around your home and driving.

LindaLatte---Hospice duties keep you so busy. They are lucky to have you. You certainly keep very busy with all your activities.

Today we are hopefully going to put on the final patch to the living room ceiling. Crossing my fingers that it works and blends in with the the larger area. Hopefully, I'll have time to declutter all the sports equipment in the shed to add to the donation pile.

I hope to start one last round of donations before I start up again with peeling wall paper and paintig. I had to take a long break about half way thru that project. I just have to decide on wall colors for two rooms and then I'm ready.

I did order the sports TSV from a few days ago as a Christmas present for our DIL. I was so confused about the sizing because every host had  different  advice. I sized up by one or two and now I think I should have passed on it. UGH!!!

We learned from a neigbor that another neighbor across our street is selling his home due to a business transfer. I'm hoping that doesn't mean another tax increase but you never know......

Have a good afternoon/evening.

Re: SHOPAHOLICS ON DAY AT A TIME (SATURDAY, September 14th)

Good Evening!  Glad your doctor visit went well, and you were able to drive yourself, Bernie.  Sounds like you are making a lot of progress. But, good idea to keep the walkers around just in case.

Happy your weather is better, Fressa.  It is noticeably cooler here with a high of 88 degrees.  Nice and cool when I took my morning wall.  The cooler morning temperatures are predicted for the rest of the week, but the high temperatures are supposed to be back in the 90's -- upper 90's by Saturday.  The weather forecaster pointed out that we can have 100 degree days in mid-October.

Hope the gift shirts work out okay, Fressa.  I often second-guess a purchase like that, but it works okay at least 50 percent of the time.  Hope the home sale doesn't result in a tax increase.  Last year, our property taxes went up quite a bit due to changes in the rules for schools.  Much to my surprise, the powers that be decided that was an error, so they went down this year -- not that much down, but.....

The senior lunch program went pretty well considering my main partner was out.  Another volunteer was helpful.  The gym was fine, and then I attempted to visit a hospice patient. She is always anxious, can't hear, doesn't remember who I am, etc. She can only tolerate a short visit, but said she loved me when I left.  That made me feel good.

Waves to Fressa, Bernie, Barbara, Susan, Glenda (still praying), and all of our posters and readers.

Hope everyone sleeps well.

Re: SHOPAHOLICS ON DAY AT A TIME (SATURDAY, September 14th)

Hi Everyone!

It's been cloudy alll day with humidity and scattered showers. The forecast was off by 8 hours.  Hopefully, that means the rain will end before bedtime. No big storms in the long range forecast so that would be a nice break in the weather.

I sorted thru the stack of sports equipment and bagged it for the pick up. I was lucky and got a pick up for tomorrow so I hope that happens. I think I'll put the third round of decluttering on hold and start prepping for one of the remaining projects. We're trying to keep up with it all so we have a smaller list for next year.

I did declutter the pots & pans in the kitchen and move the larage heavy SS skillets downstairs to the pantry. There's just the two of us now and I never reach for those large pans because I don't want them scratching the stove.

Temptations always catches my eye.(especially the White Woodlant) but I have enough of the medium to large items. The new winter pattern is very nice but I'm tryin to keep the amunt of dishwear to everyday and Christmas.

Glad to hear that everyone dealing with sickness and injury is making progress and sending prayers for those in need.

Have a good afternoon/evening.

Re: SHOPAHOLICS ON DAY AT A TIME (SATURDAY, September 14th)

Good afternoon.  It is very nice here..I have that wonderful cross breeze

my new dishwasher was installed today and I cannot believe the difference in how quiet it is compared to the very old one   I will be able to use it now,

I haven't been posting very much because my energy level is very low because of the pain and fatigue so I do what I can do. I do get out every day and walk for a while but then I have to come home put my feet up and use my heating pad lol

Fatigue is very hard to explain, but it is like someone hit me with a very heavy blanket, full of bricks,  yikes

Linda, it's nice to hear that your hospice. Patient said that to you. That is such a gift that you give to them or her I should say. Has your grandson moved to Idaho yet. there is a store near me and I have stopped in there but because I'm not into hiking anymore, I didn't really get anything but I'm gonna check out their winter hats,

Fressa. Good to hear you were getting your reorganizing done. I've pretty much gotten rid of my heavy pans because I have no need for them right now my little 3 quart crockpot, arrived, and I will use it over the weekend to make soup because next week is gonna be chillier now fingers crossed that your ceiling will work out

Bernie great news on your ability to be more independent. Sounds like you are very independent. Actually.🤩

Maintaining. My independence is a daily goal for me .

Prayers for Glenda 🙏🙏

hugs 🥰🥰

Re: SHOPAHOLICS ON DAY AT A TIME (SATURDAY, September 14th)

Good Evening!  You are doing very well with your de-cluttering, Fressa.  Like Barbara, I have gotten rid of most of my larger pans.  I still have a few, but I have cut way back.

Our weather was very nice for my morning walk -- low 60's.  It made it up to 90 today, but didn't feel as hot since it was less humid.

My DGS' family is moving at the end of the month, Barbara.  He has started his new job, but the training is not in Utah or Idaho (perhaps Seattle?).  I assume he will help get his wife and babies settled and then go back to training. He is no longer with the company you mention -- now with Old Navy instead.

Sorry you are having so many problems with fatigue. Barbara.  I'm sure it is most frustrating to say the least.  Glad you like your new dishwasher.

We had a hospice volunteer meeting this morning and then I went to the grocery store(s) and Walmart.  There were some sales on items for the food bank, so I purchased several things like oatmeal, peanut butter, beans, canned tomatoes, etc.  Not too exciting, but......

Unfortunately, my friend Bev got the bad news that cancer has spread to her liver.  She has been in a lot of pain, so she is going on morphine and oxycodone (I think she will alternate).  She has an appointment with one doctor on Monday (replacement for the doctor who left), and her oncologist the following Monday.  Her options are chemo or nothing.  Needless to say, she is quite upset and hasn't decided whether she will go with the chemo or not.  I'm sure she would appreciate your good thoughts and prayers.

Waves to Fressa, Barbara, Bernie, Susan, Glenda, and all of our posters and readers.

Hope everyone sleeps well.

Hugs,
