Good Morning! Hope you had a nice birthday yesterday, Bernie. Happy you had such a good time with your brothers, Barbara. It always takes me a while to get back in the groove after a trip. Please try to pace yourself
I have read that some are experiencing early Fall weather, at least in the mornings, these days. It will be quite a while before I need to wear a jacket or sweatshirt on my walks. But, it is a bit cooler here with a high of 92 degrees today.
I didn't realize that it was free shipping day until I saw a little AM Style this morning. Hope I don't find anything I really want to buy since I have been doing quite a bit of spending lately -- mostly practical things plus gifts, etc., but...... I certainly don't need any Fall clothing or accessories. Hope any of you who order like what you receive.
My hospice patient was much better yesterday and she and her roommate enjoyed their mechanical cats after I figured out how to turn them on. That was fun. I spent most of the rest of the day in the hospice office and doing supply deliveries.
Not sure if I mentioned it, but my caregivers friend Barbara's husband died on Thursday afternoon. Thanks for all your good thoughts and prayers for her.
Waves to Bernie, Fressa, Barbara, Susan, Glenda (hope you will be able to post soon), and all of our posters and readers.
Have a nice evening and please post if you have a chance.
Hugs,
Linda

Hi Everyone!
Today is sunny and hot. I guess the heat wave predicted for next week is early. We have a break from the wind gusts so that's good.
LindaLatte---Sorry to hear about Bev's husband passing.
Free shipping day was a surprise. I only had 2 small items in my save list so I was happy with that news.
I picked up a new supply of batteries and put them in the window candles. Some of them are so old that they could barely light. I thought I had a few replacements in the storage room but I didn't. What a surprise when I saw the TSV! I think when I purchased mine it was a set of 6 but 4 (2 sets) will be fine for the main rooms of the house. I'll used the older ones for the windows that face the back and sides. I was so tempted to try a new color but didnt want to order 3 sets.
We spent yesterday taking the measurements for the flooring in the lower level. Lots of decisions to make but trying to pace ourselves. The months are going faster than we are in the project world. LOL Trying to decide which "to do" can be done in the winter and which one is "now". We're both running out of energy.
We had 2 doe and 3 fawns in our side yards all weekend. So nice to see. The fawns are so little and the does look young so I hope they make it thru this winter. The groundhogs had another family.I'm trying not to think about the size of that family.
Have a good afternoon./evening.

Good Afternoon! Sorry the heat came earlier than expected to your area, Fressa. I thought of you when I saw the TSV since you had mentioned the candles. Hope you like the new ones -- sounds like you have the perfect place for them plus the necessary batteries.
Unfortunately, there are no proper windowsills in this house. I tried using some window candles years ago, ad they kept falling down. Oh well....
Good luck with your flooring project.
My oldest DGS and wife plus my two great grandchildren are moving to Idaho since he has a new job there. His wife posted pictures of their road trip to check out their new area. Hopefully, it will be a good move for them.
I don't have any exciting plans for the day, but hope to do some more decluttering, cleaning, etc. as well as go to the gym.
Waves to Fressa, Bernie, Barbara, Susan, Glenda, and all of our posters and readers.
Hope everyone sleeps well.
Hugs,
Linda

God Bless your caregiver friend Barbara during this time @LindaLatte It's lovely that your hospice patient and roommate have their cats to interact with. The technology on these mechanical cats and dogs has improved over the years and I'm sure that having these 'pets' is a comfort.

@Fressa I miss having a groundhog on my property. I used to call each groundhog 'Gerry' since I wasn't sure if it was female or male. My groundhogs used to drink out of the water bowl on the patio after they ate. I think my former neighbor poisoned the last one when it decided to move house from my property to hers. I never had a family - just a single groundhog for over 20 years.
I don't know if the doe left a fawn in the school field behind my house this summer - my privacy fence blocks the view.

Birdmama---Years ago we discovered that the first groundhog family was residing in the rock walll on the other side of the house. Once we started to tend that side garden and installed solar lights it moved to the other side yard next to the woods. I thought it was a bit more quiet there (away from the neighbor's pool and teens) I don't know too much about them.
Last night we saw our first fawn (buck) with the 2 young doe. I've read that doe will take on other young fawns if something happens to the mother. This is the largest fawn gruop we've seen with 2 doe and 4 babies. Hopefully they will grow fast enough to survive the winter. I'm not sure what that rate is. I only know that supposily they have to lose their spots before winter arrives to have a chance.
I don't know why some people have to be so nasty when it comes to wildlife. Most of the land was wilderness and then houses started to appear. At least around here it was farmland and woods.

LindaLatte---Last night I decided to order anoter set of those window candles. I did a recount of the "original" ones I had in the window and thought that if one wore out the others probably would do so soon. Hopefully, I'll be able to use the oldest one in the smaller size side windows. ( I know I always over think these decisions.)
My hubby's family is from Idaho. I really like it there. We had hoped to move back there when we both retire but both our son and grandson are here. I still miss it especially since I can breathe so much better out west.

Good Evening! Sorry it is so late.
I heard from Jean, and she is working hard and making progress with her knee recovery.
I remember ground hogs when I lived in Maryland, but I don't think I have seen them in Arizona. However, we have lots of wildlife like javelina, rattlesnakes, and mountain lions here.
Really hope you like the new candles, Fressa. Interesting about your experience in Idaho. My DD said that my DGS and his wife found a very nice house to rent and liked the area very much.
The weather wasn't bad on my walk this morning, and I did a little more weeding in the alley behind my house. It is amazing how fast the weeds grow after we have rain.
My hospice patient was an avid tennis player, teacher, and coach, so we watched the US Open together this morning. We also played with her mechanical cat and her roommate played with hers.
I spent most of the rest of the day in the hospice office.
Waves to Bernie, Fressa, Barbara, Susan (how is your Mom doing?), Glenda, and all of our posters and readers.
Hugs,
Linda

Hi to all of you. I have not had time to keep up with you.
My surgery last Tuesday was a rough one. The surgery started are 7:30 a.m. & was supposed to be 3 1/2 hours, but it was 5 hours. The surgeon did an exploratory surgery & scooped out a lot of gunk. Did a complete hysterectoy. There was no cancer there. She went lower down and found cancer in my colon. She was able to remove it all in one piece and said that the surgery went great.
I was very sore on Wednesday, felt good on Thursday. On Friday, I had severe nausea on a scale of 1-10, it was a 10 for 4 days. I have a bag attached for 6-8 weeks then my surgeon hopes to reconnect everything. It has to be emptied 3-4 times a day changed twice a week. My DH has learned how to do it. I am getting SSM Health Care twice a week for two weeks at my home.
Last night at midnight I had a tube put down my throat and it has to be in for at least 24 hours. The Dr .is coming up to see me a at midnight to see if it comes out tonight or stays in another 24 hours. I am so hungry for a SF raspberry popsicle and a fruit cup.
Yesterday I was wheelchair bound all day. Bathroom, chair and back to bed. Today I am doing a lot better. I have walked three times, done my 1# dumb bells three times and I have done my edema exercises three times.
My dh has been up here with me for 9 days. He has been at Best Western Motel 6 nights and it is 4 blocks away with a shuttle bus. He went back home this morning and is coming back up tomorrow morning. Then he has to go back home in the afternoon as he has to get his ears cleaned at 3:00. He has a lot of things to get caught up with.
Keep praying for both of us.
Glenda

Thanks so much for posting, Glenda. I continue to pray for you and your DH.
What can I say about what you are going through? Very happy the doctor was able to find and get rid of the cancer. But, it certainly sounds like a very rough operation and then your extreme nausea for days, having to deal with the bag, having a tube down your throat, etc. sounds almost like torture. I am glad you were able to get around better today, and hope you will be able to eat something soon.
Your husband is certainly a keeper. It is wonderful that he has been with you and will be able to help you when you go home. And, I am sure the home health care will be a blessing.
Please know that we are all thinking about you, and sending our love and prayers.
Hugs,
Linda
