Good morning friends! I am having a hard time getting started today. I'm kind of aimless and haven't a clear idea of what I want to do or accomplish. Still getting used to my days being so unstructured.
No real shopping on my radar. I got my shower curtain liner from Amazon so hope to put that up today with the new shower curtain. I never did make it to the laundry so that is getting more important.
I'm thinking a meat loaf tonight, unless I make it into burgers for DH to grill. Mmmmmmm!
What is everyone up to today?

Hello Ladies, thanks for starting Kathleen, I'm having a hard time too,,,,doing some laundry, vacuuming ....trying to get some summer things put away..but it's been hot and summer like all week and expected to last a few more days...not that I'm complaining about that! I was going to run over at the store but don't feel like it. take out pizza is for tonight.
Thinking of you Twinny and hope your infusion goes well.....also have a nice vacation the next few weeks. I know you said you can read on your tablet but not write. one of my kids pointed out and I think Arlene mentioned it too that the Fire will be sold on Amazon for $49.00 at the end of Sept. I have been reading about it but I am such a teck dunce I 'm wondering if I could even figure out how to use/set it up. I use an iPad Air now for everything ,very seldom use my Apple desk computer... i don't read or play games on the iPad...so I wonder if it would be worth it for me.
Not much else going on here, I should finish something that I start around here but I think the pool is calling me....I keep telling myself my days are being numbered for that.
Have a nice day everyone.....Marijane

Good Morning/Afternoon! Thanks for getting us started Kathleen. Try to be kind to yourself -- you have gone through many, many changes in the past year or so. And, change can be very difficult. I can't say that I'm my most focused today either -- wonder if something is in the air?
I have been doing quite a bit of "house" shopping lately, but at least some has been needed given the new cabinets, etc. I plan to buy another cabinet storage container and more shelf liner soon (maybe today). I went to the storage room yesterday, and brought home some of my Fall decorations plus a couple of things to take to the thrift shop. One is a nice rug (but one we aren't using), and the other is a large suitcase belonging to DH. He has not used the suitcase since we moved here, and I don't think it will ever be used. If he travels, he can take a smaller suitcase.
Hi Marijane -- enjoy the pool today. I have not been going to the pool much at all this summer. Fortunately, we will have quite a bit more warm/hot weather. There are people around here (including my 80 something neighbor) who swim year-round since the pool is heated. I'm not a fan of swimming when it is cold outside -- just the getting in and out of the pool causes me to shiver if it is too chilly out.
Waves to Jean (working today), Arlene, twinny (good luck with your infusion), Bernie, snicks, Rosa (my SIL is still happy with her guy as well), Susan, Charlene, LindaR, Karen, Gayle, pinky ann, and all or our posters and readers.
The caregivers group had a speaker yesterday who took up much of the meeting time. He was excellent -- there is a relatively new program in our area that is a sort of mobile "urgent care" service from the fire department. Four days a week, they have a nurse practitioner who can help with many of the issues handled in urgent care places -- she can do blood work, take x-rays, etc. And, you can even make an appointment for her to come to your home if you have some issues. They have approval from Medicare and some insurance companies to provide the service. The speaker came up with the idea, and he said the first person had UTIs all the time - the nurse practitioner could help her in her home, and she did not need to go to the emergency room, etc. The difference in cost is considerable. Anyway, I'm very happy that we have that resource, and I hope that they may be able to hire another NP to help on other days/times.
DH and I had a nice walk this morning, and we will be going to the gym today. I also plan to go to the grocery store. Tomorrow morning is the "hunger walk" I'm doing to help benefit the local food bank. This is my first "walk", and I hope it goes well.
Have a nice day everyone!
Hugs,
Linda
P.S. Why is Amazon making the Fire so inexpensive -- are they coming out with a new model?

Hello Ladies,
Just back from shopping. I had a 10 dollar coupon for JCP. I found a Liz Claiborne tank marked down 70% and with the coupon I paid a whopping 21 cents. I had another 5 dollar coupon at another store and was able to buy some nice hand lotion and only had to pay an extra dollar. This was totally guilt free shopping.
I haven't been online in awhile. I had to have my computer worked on. It was kind of nice to not be connected so much.
Not much new here. Tomorrow night we are dining over at a relatives home so that should be a good time.
I hope everyone has a good weekend.

Hi girls! It's been a busy day; I got the toothbrushes and toothpaste mailed off to the troops, then took a drive out to Jasper to get reimbursement for the postage, as well as postage from some packages I mailed earlier in the month. On the way home I stopped at Walmart to return a clock radio that's a piece of junk - the clock, radio, and CD player work, but the alarm doesn't, so who needs that? (I'm so sorry I took my old clock radio to the thrift shop!) Between the "old" postage and the refund I had enough for a vacuum cleaner; its reviews on the Walmart website were very good, and it's supposedly great for picking up pet hair. I'm thinking maybe I'll sell my older one; it was expensive, but doesn't suck as well as it used to - even if I get $25 for it, it'll be something...
I'm waiting to hear from Victor, as I have cupcakes for him, then I'm going to have a dog-free few hours - I need to get a few things at Aldi and stop by Lowe's; I mentioned the other day, I think, that Angelica broke her tieout chain, but I can still use it if I get one of those spring hooks that has two ends - one to attach to her collar, and one to the chain. I might stop at Popeye's for dinner, as they're having their $5 special, then I have to put the vacuum cleaner together, vacuum...and do homework. It's getting hot out again, if I catch up today I can spend a few hours in the pool tomorrow and Sunday.
Marijane, the Kindle is very easy to use, there's really nothing to set up, and it has a feature called "Mayday" on it, even on the new $49 version. It's really neat - you just press a button, and a tiny screen with a tech person from Amazon pops up and they answer your questions. They can access your device if necessary (with your permission), and show you what you have to do to solve any problems you might have. They'll actually use a pointer you can see to show you where to go, what to do, etc. I just used it to change my default email on my Kindle. As for the price, LindaL, it's like anything else electronic or technological - it comes down as the technology becomes more common. My first computer was around $4,000, and didn't do even 5% of what this $200 laptop does. Remember when hand-held calculators came out? There were around $100 and now you can get one in Dollar Tree! BTW, this is a brand new model; they're coming out with, I think, three new ones.
I don't shop at JCP anymore, except when I get a $10 off a purchase of $10 or more coupon, in which case I stick as close to $10 as I can; I guess I should check that email...
LindaL, have fun at the bazaar, and twinny, will the party be a large one?
Well, I'd better get moving; I have to remember Aldi doesn't stay open as late as other stores.
Have a blessed evening, everyone!

Marijane, I hope you enjoy your pool today after all that cleaning. I have beeen missing pizza so I got a deep dish slice today at the food court. It was heaven!
Linda we haven't used the pool either - amazingly. I used the hot tub 2x so far but haven't even jumped in the pool. I'm not sure why. DH works longer hours here, always home after 5. So glad to hear you have another option for care if needed!
Twinny I hope your infusion went well and that you feel a lot better asap. Just read that it did, hope the nose bleeds stay gone. DD had that problem because of her allergies as well. Have a wonderful vacation!!
Linda that is too bad about Lisa - I read the other thread as well.
Gayle, way to go on the shopping! Whoohoooo! My girls have told me that if other shopped the way I do they would have to close the stores. ha ha!
I ended up going walking at the Galleria. I tell myself I have to walk a mile then I can buy something. Walked 6 miles (working on a 7th) and had a good time. Only bought pizza for lunch, just nothing spoke to me. Tried on some $100 jeans that were very fine but not fine enough. lol Now worn out at home. DH had a big lunch again so is not hungry. I'm not sure if I will just heat up leftovers or cook a frozen meal in a bag.

Hey girls, glad to see everyone is maintaining. I'm glad the doctor addressed the nose bleed Twinny - they shouldn't pop up out of the blue like that. Watch, Murphy's law will make your nose get boogery, just as you were told you can't blow it ;-)
