The way it's styled on the model on Net A Porter vs the way it looks on Rihanna, no comparison. Love her shoes and bag with the dress too. Proving she can actually look amazing even in what can look like a burlap sack.

It doesn't look like a burlap sack to me. I don't know what it is. It looks like cashmere.

Anyway -- that color is gorgeous on Rihanna's skin color. Also, she has lots of curves to fill out the dress and give it more shape.  I agree about the styling. Those sleeves just hanging in the top pictures make it look like a monk's robe.

I had a dress cut almost exactly the same in the late 70's or early 80's.  I loved that dress!  Oh, and I looked just as FABU as Rihanna in it!  *snort*

Rihanna is very blessed to have a runway model style body that can actually pull this off unlike the picture of the person above Rihanna who does not making the piece look sloppy.  You must have the right body shape for an unstructured piece like this or it comes off wrong.  The color also fits Rihanna as she is a warm season and can wear this neutral color.  A win for Rihanna all around.
