Requesting a price adjustment

I recently purchased several Sunny Leigh skirts for vacation and (of course!) they went on clearance just after I received them. Q customer service just refunded the difference in price to me, as the price drop occurred within 30 days of purchase.

Maybe all of you already know of this policy and it's in small print somewhere, but I've never noticed it or heard a host mention it, so it wasn't something I watched for with my orders. It's definitely worth it to check back on your purchases from time to time and see if an adjustment is warranted for something you purchased. I stumbled upon this price drop by accident, but I'm going to watch more closely going forward.

It was the right thing for them to do, and I'm happy to have the nearly $60 credited to my account. The Q got this one right!

Yep, it's a good reminder to keep an eye on things. Someone recently reported that HSN will automatically credit you when there's a price drop -- which is very nice.

That is great. It takes some time to check up on your purchases, but it my case, I feel it was well worth the time.

Yes, I believe all of the main shopping channels will do that within 30 days. I've called and gotten refunds from them too. Never an argument from them either.

Nice savings.

Pays to read the fine print any time you buy items at full price and not just at QVC, etc. Lots of chains return sales price savings after the fact - but you do have to read the fine print because there are exceptions most places.

Re: Requesting a price adjustment

I too have gotten price adjustments after seeing things I bought go on clearance after I bought them. And I stumbled upon mine by accident too. I remember that one reduced item was 31 days after I bought mine. Customer service would not give me the difference, which is their right, but I asked anyway.

Re: Requesting a price adjustment

Just fyi, there have been posters who said they called about getting a price adjustment within 30 days and were told that isn't done. They'd have to return the item and repurchase it at the lower price. They said they spoke to supervisors who wouldn't budge. Enough people have posted that I tend to believe it's true.

I've only had a price drop once and CS refunded without a question asked. The price dropped $30.00 the day after I bought the coat.

As an aside, I've never had HSN automatically adjust the price for me. I have always had to call.

I bought my second GILI Roma 2 about 25 days before it was reduced by almost $70. I called CS and was expecting to be turned down (my choice had sold out in the meantime) but they didn't blink and refunded the difference.

Re: Requesting a price adjustment

I have done it a couple of times with ShopHQ/Evine. Each time I called they were super nice and there wasn't a problem. Once I even got almost $800 off of a watch that I bought and was then on sale within 30 days!
