Re: Remember this? Lisa R, Dave King duet "Baby, It's Cold Outside"

Glad you all enjoyed it. {#emotions_dlg.wub}

Would love to have a copy of the CD and yes, I remember there were songs by David V and others as well. Didn't QVC run all of these videos as filler on Christmas Day, way back when?

Dave King was a very elegant, charming man. Wonder what he is up to these days.

It's odd that (as far as I know, I don't watch 24/7) they can't seem to develop and retain a male host who is African American, Latino or otherwise non-WASP. Are there any Asian hosts on the U.S. version of QVC, come to think of it?

This song was also included in a Christmas CD that was sold one year that included multiple hosts singing different Christmas songs. I had a copy but not sure where it disappeared to with the rest of my CDs...

I have this 2-CD set and still listen to it this time of year. Lisa sang ""Tennessee Christmas"" which is one of my favorites. She has an awesome singing voice. Some of the other ones from Dan Wheeler and the duet by David and Marybeth is just beautiful.

The CD was only offered one year and I'm glad I got it!!

Thanks for posting, such a well-done rendition by Dave and Lisa. Q used to put more effort into its Christmas Eve - Christmas Day programming, I enjoyed it. Is Dave still on one of the other shopping channels? I haven't seen him in a while.

How delightful! I don't know Dave King, but he and Lisa did a really nice job with the song. I can't imagine anything this well produced or entertaining on QVC now! I didn't realize Lisa was such a talented singer and performer.

Re: Remember this? Lisa R, Dave King duet "Baby, It's Cold Outside"

I had never seen this. I just started watching QVC a couple of years ago. Thank you so much for posting this. I had never heard of Dave King, what a cute video. He has a really nice voice and I was surprised how nice Lisa's voice sounded. Too bad he could not have been there for her party. I could not view it on the link you posted so I went to You tube and plugged in Dave King and Lisa Robertson and it popped right up. Thank you again. They were a very cute couple in the video. Did they ever date?

"Baby, It's Cold Outside": I haven't heard this song in a while, but it came on the radio today w/ the version sung by Idina Menzel & Michael Buble. Beautiful version but....I had a chance to really listen to the lyrics. In light of all the crazy Cosby stuff...heavens! In this day & time, that song took on a new light!!

I'm sure in the '40's, the line "there's something in my drink" spoke of alcohol & she continually telling him 'no' was flirting, but it almost doesn't stand the test of time. I kinda/sorta cringed when I heard that song!

Thanks for posting this. It's been a long time since I have seen it. Lisa and Dave do a great job.

I love the original with Esther Williams and Ricardo Montabalm from Neptune's Daughter. You can find that on youtube also. It also features Betty Garrett and Red Skelton from the reverse point of view. It is rather old fashioned by today's standards because Ricardo and Betty are kind of pushy about Esther and Red staying, but I like it. I love Esther Williams.
