I was digging through some storage boxes looking for some of my summer camisoles.*  (It's good stuff I put away when I gained a bit of weight  - that I could wear again when I lost it.  i lost the weight last year - so time to take the box out.)

Back to the topic .....

UNITS....  I think it was JCP's brand.

It was a line similar to Chico's Travelers and Renee's City Knits, and several other acetate/spandex fabrics that were popular quite a few years ago.   I had a lot of clothes in the acetate/spandex fabric, from just about every store that sold them.

I found a black maxi length tank dress ... the exact same style they are selling today.  AND IT FITS ME!

(I only wear black dresses - they can be accessorized to wear just about anywhere!)

=============================================

*  Found the camisoles .  5 black and 5 white.

I think there were independent Units stores in Wisconsin in the 1980's.

@Desert Lily     I remember an independent "Units" store at Santa Monica Place Mall back then, too.   di

@ALRATIBA   I still have about 4 pair of the acetate/spandex capri pants in beautiful prints that were sold on HSN, the Slinky brand.

Every year when I switch out to spring/summer clothes I look at these pants and just can't purge them, old as they are.  They still fit and I like them.  I did purge the other Slinky brand that I had, but love these printed capris.

That is the only acetate I had ever bought.

Like you, I also store some of my favorites that are a size too small as I tend to quickly loose weight when I have a health issue and it just as quickly comes back but at least I have something to wear in between size changes.

@ALRATIBA @Desertdi

There was an independent store in Dadeland Mall, Miami, Fl. Around 1990??

I bought dresses, pants, tops, and that cowl neck waist belt. Very comfortable easy care clothing.  Came in petite size. Perfect for my teaching job.

Would be in style today. Glad you saved yours. @ALRATIBA

@Zaimee

There's a 15 year time frame .....

I would have purchased these sometime after 1995 .... after I moved back to NYC - and before 2010 when I retired.

I had a Units suit that I loved  black with white pin stripes.  Can't remember where I got it.

From Chico's ... their Travelers line ... I sill have and wear six jackets.  Bought them at an outlet in Las Vegas.

Their prints are timeless, and jackets are jackets.

I got such a great deal.

It was 2009, I was out in Las Vegas with my brother and SIL ... we spent more time shopping all the outlets than we did in the casinos.

My SIL and I had to buy another piece of luggage take everything home.

UNITS was its own company but was sold in many stores like JCP. I think I had several pieces but the fabric was not as high quality as Travelers or Citiknits. UNITS would get very stiff after it was washed. I may still have a Citiknits tank somewhere in my archives.
