Re: Reformed Shopaholics week July 4

Happy Saturday...I am resting today. Saturday is when sydnie and I watch terrible movies..usually on Syfy. The Giver is on now and conversely it is very good. the novel is often taught in 8th grade.

I believe that I mentioned my plan to make each grandchild a blanket for his graduation.  There is a knit a long tomorrow for the pattern I am considering. If I am more mobile, I will go.

There was a bad storm last night in our area in Az. I have not heard from our caretaker so I assume everything is ok.

Linda..I bet dd is glad that the work is finished.is she stiil doing her volunteer job?.  Stay cool and drink lots of water.I will do self check out because I usually only have a few items.Good that yiu got the paypad figured out.

Claudia..I hate detours and there are a ton of them around here. I use a bona mop which was recommended by a floor specialist. I can get around the toilets with it.,Swiffer mops are ok too but not on wood,

enjoy your day.🌻🌻

Re: Reformed Shopaholics week July 4

Good Afternoon!  Hope you were able to finish the mowing today, Claudia.  I can't imagine having to deal with all those detours.  When DH and I used to go up north to doctor's appointments detours were very common.  And, the road construction crews seemed to take way longer than one might expect.  I believe one crew took so long that they were fined for violating the contract.

Enjoy your movie day with Syd, Barbara.  I don't watch SyFy movies -- good or bad.  Just boring to me.  Good luck with the knitting.  Hope you feel well enough to do the knit along.

Interesting about the storm in your area of AZ. Hope no problems with your house.  Also hope my niece-in-law didn't have any issues.  I know she was going to other parts of AZ (including Sedona) before coming down here.

Yes, DD is still doing her volunteer job, but didn't work last Monday since it was a holiday and they were closed.  They have a "boutique" as part of their operation, and she has come up with an idea to attract customers by holding a Christmas open house.  Anyway, she has ideas about decorations, what to serve, and they have put her in charge of the effort.  She is very pleased to be doing something she enjoys.

It is quite hot here again today, but we may have thunderstorms this evening.  As I mentioned on the other thread, I had my mediation Zoom group this morning.  I'm also starting to get things together for my niece-in-laws visit -- like the bedding, etc.

My new office chair should be delivered today, but perhaps not until late.  I suddenly had the great idea that if I have trouble putting it together (hope not), I could ask her to help.

I don't have  Bona mop, but my new steamer seems to work.  Still I usually do the area around the toilet on my hands and knees since it can't make it in the very tight space.

Hope both of you and your husbands have a nice evening and sleep well.

Hugs,

Linda

Re: Reformed Shopaholics week July 4

Barbara, I hope you feel up to attending the knit a long.

Besides the detour I got behind a work truck going 28 mph in a 55 mph zone. Luckily I was able to turn off on an old road. I knew that was 45 mph and I'd get ahead of the work truck. I did but then came upon a one lane work area and had to wait a few minutes. Still it saved me time.

Linda, I'm sure your DD will have fun planning the Christmas open house and boutique. I hope the office chair will be easy to put together.

The flooring for the bathroom is vinyl planks so no steam mop. R's pick is one of those old time rag mops that you squeeze in a wringer bucket. Big and clunky and not easy to use in a small space. If I get down on my hands and knees to clean I'm not getting up easily.

I did mow out front. Tomorrow I hope to trim the forsythia bush. I was surprised to see a large amount of furnishings out on the curb across the street. The house has 2 rental units and this seems to be from the upstairs apartment. A large couch and cushions, mattress, office chairs, shelving plus garbage bags. Hope it gets picked up. Our garbage company will not pick up furniture unless you call ahead and get it on the schedule. There are 3 other companies in town and I don't know what their set up is.

Have a nice evening.
