QF is called QF, it isn't called Jeanne Bice Classics Collection and even if it were, Jeanne was pretty much known for QF. Joan was Joan and with all due respect to Jeanne and Joan and David, having a second banana hawking her goods is simply not going to work for many loyal fans and customers. They can continue with the line if they choose to, but it seems they're going to need to find someone pretty compelling to be the on-air rep. Unless Joan's on-air assistant somehow very much comes into his own, he simply doesn't make for compelling viewing or shopping. I'm sure he's a nice guy, and he filled in nicely for Joan on occasion, but as a permanent replacement, well, no, I just don't think so.

As for a tribute show. It would be nice but like others I can't see them doing it in the absence of selling her products and yes, it would be limited to videotape they have, but they certainly have enough fabulous moments to put together a real tribute. Her promos alone, from years past when they used to actually try to make them entertaining, would probably fill quite a bit of time...

Also, outside of the QVC "family," almost none of the tributes to her even mention her success here. That surprises me, but does not dismay me. Her world was extremely varied and she lived well, succeeded well in many aspects of that life. In fact, just an hour ago, my BIL, a Jewish man just a bit older than Joan, brought up her death. When I mentioned a photo tribute to her that I saw last night right before midnight, he said "Oh, I forgot about that part of her life."

I'm headed in a few days to the funeral of one of my best friends. She died this week, too. She was also 81, also a widow, also leaves, among others, a daughter Melissa's age, etc. As well as I knew her, as much as we talked over the years, I expect to hear stories this week I've never heard before. I expect to see people I wasn't even aware had known her. And I also know from my initial talk with her oldest son that life in the family is already going on - because it has to, because it should, because it will.

One of the most amazing and wonderful aspects of Joan was her energy and her ability to move successfully from one aspect of her life to another. We and QVC honor her best by living and giving, rather than by sitting and crying.

They could have done nothing, but they chose to do something. They've posted tributes, discussed it on air, and the hosts I follow on Facebook have all posted their own personal tributes.

But you're like that busy-body neighbor who complains when a widow seems too happy. too friendly, or isn't wearing black long enough for your liking.

It's not about you. People die every day and everyone left has to move on. QVC knows many people cared about Joan, but they also know that many people did not care for her and won't miss her appearances. QVC has to deal with both kinds of customers as well as new customers who don't even know that QVC had a close relationship with Joan Rivers.

It's not up to QVC to hold your hand through this or build a memorial. QVC does not need to wear a black armband and the people who truly miss Joan, the people who knew her and worked with her personally, need to be able to move on and do their jobs.

WOW Cynnablue where do you get off being so nasty!! Who and please show me where somebody said they need qvc to hold their hand!!?? I'm sorry but you need to back off, QVC made millions a day and they owe us a tribute to Joan that shows they appreciate her and her fans. My god your not a nice person at all!!

I couldn't have said it better. I'm very very disappointed how QVC decided to tribute Joan. Generic and she deserves wayyyyyyyyy better. I'm hoping they read this and give Joan her due respects!!! Joan was always the underdog in life and I was hoping QVC would have went all out for her with something really special. I also may add that yes Johnny Carson was good but JOAN WAS BETTER!

Something tells me that no matter what they did, you wouldn't think it was enough.

I think the tributes they did online and on-air were more than enough and absolutely appropriate.

I don't know if Cynnablue is nice but she is certainly not "not nice" and seems perfectly rational to me.

I think that Joan would absolutely agree with Cynnablue. You can grieve - in your own way in your own time. But at some point you have to move on. Some of us do it sooner than others. There is NOTHING wrong with that. And you can absolutely NOT dictate how anyone else deals with death.

If YOU want a big lavish tribute to Joan then YOU foot the bill and do it. QVC is free to do whatever they feel is appropriate (I think what they've done so are is MORE than appropriate). If you don't like it, you are free to not be a QVC customer or a member of the QVC Community boards.
