Rant! Why No Waitlist/Susan Graver!

[ Edited ]

I've been shopping with QVC for over 25 years, maybe more. It use to be when something was sold out there was always a waitlist. Rarely, did I go on waitlist and not eventually get what I ordered. Recently my waitlist order for a Susan Graver scarf was cancelled by QVC due to not being able to get more. Now they have a blouse on the home page as new but is already sold out in  size and color that I want with NO WAITLIST!  I find this happens frequently with Susan Graver clothing! Just needed to vent. It's very frustrating to me!

Amen!Amen!  I just received a notice from Zappos telling me they have new inventory in an item that was out of stock. QVC!!!  Please give us a way to do this. I am tired of continuously checking for LOGO, D&C, etc inventory.

I also get angry when they have shows and most items have only half or less of the sizes in inventory!  LOGO and D&C often have only about half of sizes in colors. Months go by with little change to replenish.

Glad you brought this up.  I had a relative who worked as a fashion buyer all her life.  Part of this business is determining what will sell and how much will be bought.  I would have hoped QVC would know by now what will be big sellers and order accordingly.  Along with frustrating customers, they are missing making more sales.  It doesn't make sense to me.

This is what I have deduced from my experience over the past five or six years with Q. You go on waitlist and will receive your waitlisted item if and when a return comes back from an original purchaser. They set limits on how many people will be waitlisted, and when that criterion is met, there will be no availability to waitlist.

Keep checking back for your item, including as is. You would be surprised at how many items that "sell out" reappear.

Some here complain about seeing the same items over and over, and some complain about NOT seeing the same items over and over. LOL From my observation, a lot of retailers I shop with have reduced their inventories. Frustrating when you really like something. Of course when it comes to clothing, I've not seen anything lately that I have to have. Most of it I don't want.

Huh?  What am I missing.  There's no waitlist because they aren't ordering of the item and they don't expect that there will be many returns.  So, they opted to avoid disappoining shoppers.  I think that's a good thing!   A very honest thing.

Re: Rant! Why No Waitlist/Susan Graver!

Things have changed.  QVC seems to avoid having a lot of inventory on hand.  Waitlist are limited or non-existant.  They also don't reorder things as fast as they used to do.  Now it may easily take a year for it to reappear whereas in olden days, you could expect to see it again the same season.

It seems like they order way too many XXS, XS, and S sizes.  Some late night clearance shows are nothing but small sizes.  They need to order more average and large sizes as they're losing money on lost sales.

What you are missing is that if an item is being offered, then there should be enough to meet demand. If not, then there should be a wait list in order to meet that demand. As a long time customer of QVC I can tell you, that used to be one of the main things that set them apart from the other shopping channels  - being able to waitlist and actually receive most items. As far as, avoiding disappointing shoppers, I'm just as disappointed when items are introduced to me and at the same time are not available!

I doubt Susan, or any of the other designers, have that much say in how many are ordered or maufactured.  It is the Q's fault for not ordering enough to meet the demand. I understand your frustration.  I think we all get irritated when we see something we love, whether it be online or in a brick and mortar store, but it isn't available in our size.
