God morning. After a hot humid day yesterday and some storms, today is quite lovely. So I turned the ac off and have the house open.
i am done packing...just need to put my clothes in and syds. M has not started yet.lol
it looks rainy while we are out there. I am sure we will have a good time regardless of the weather.
Linda..I hope dh had a good night. I felt sorry for the 97 year old man without ac.is dds family feeling better???
Coaudia..that art fair sounded lovely. Hope r did not have any more issues.

Sorry, I did not see your post when I started our thread, Barbara. This is what I posted --
Good Morning/Afternoon! Glad you had such a good time at the art show, Claudia. I think you made a wise decision not to offer or ask if R needed help with the glasses. You have done way more than your fair share, and you should not feel any guilt.
Hope your day is off to a good start, Barbara. Will V be taking care of Pepper while you are gone? Have a wonderful trip. DH's DD said that the girls enjoyed their camps (one week) -- the older one went to a science camp for girls (she was selected from her school), and the younger one was at horse camp. Her DH is going on a trip to Bali? today -- some sort of music gathering. I just figured out that he will celebrate his birthday when he is there (49). I think he will be gone for two or three weeks, and then the others (DH's DD and the girls) will be going to Germany for two weeks or so. Busy family.
DH has made a couple of messes and wet the bed last night. But, at least I was able to sleep much better last night. It is cloudy again today, and there is a chance of rain. But, no rain yet. Also, no rain yesterday.
I'm still going through papers and shredding, and I hope to get to the grocery store for a few things today. Also, doing my ironing. Not too exciting.
Hope both of you have a nice day!
Hugs,
Linda
P.S. I don't usually talk to DD on the weekends, so I don't know how they are doing. Better, I hope. Also hope there is not too much rain when you are in VA Beach.

Linda..not to worry...if I could cut and copy I would have deleted the other thread.
Sorry you you had a clean up job again but that seems to be your normal.
v will be caring for Pepper. She is completely housebroken and settling down each week. She is going to miss Sydnie a lot..in the morning she goes by the gate and whines until Syd gets up.
i think we will have a good time...as I said m is worried about the solo competiton but it is so subjective
have a good evening.

I'm sure you will have a good time, Barbara. I'm sure Sydnie will do very well. She'll probably miss Pepper as much as Pepper misses her. I remember my parents cutting a vacation short because Eileen kept crying. She missed our Beagle who happened to be named Pepper.
It was over 90 degrees here. I mowed only because rain is expected tomorrow. R came home but will need to go pack things up tomorrow if we don't have to go to Erie. First thing we need to find out is if the x-ray results were faxed to the VA clinic.
I was at the BK picking up supper when R called my cellphone to find out where I was. It is somehow connected to the car and goes on speaker. I was just opening my card case to get my debit card out. I was so startled I lost my grip on the case and it slid down under the seat. It's a good thing I had enough cash on me to pay. Now I need to go to the atm so I can pay for the mini pies.
DH's daughter and family certainly are busy, Linda. It's a shame DH's accidents are a daily occurrence.
R said mice got in the camper. The mattresses will need replaced before I consider staying in the camper.

I'm sure you will have a good time in VA Beach, Barbara. Glad V is able to help with Pepper. Although kennels can be nice, it is easier to keep pets at home, and much less expensive.
I would want to replace the mattresses after the mice attack, Claudia. Yuck. I have managed to lose cards in the car under similar circumstances -- very frustrating. I remember one of my friends lost her "Golden Age" pass in the vents at the front. I think getting the card out would be very pricey.
DH didn't make too many messes yesterday -- mostly contained in his underwear, but hes sure didn't sleep well. He kept getting up every hour or so, and I ended up giving him an anti-anxiety pill around 3:30 in the morning. That seened to help, and I was able to take my walk while he napped on the couch. It is very nice this morning -- cooler and cloudy after the heavy storms we had yesterday. But, it is expected to reach the high 90's or so today.
The caregiver found that one of DH's hands was swollen, and she was calling the nurse. But, I have not heard from her. The social worker came, and she showed me some pictures of the damage to her condo complex, etc. A palm tree fell into the pool -- pretty wild.
DD said they are slightly better, but not great. My SIL has tooth pain, so they will be going to the dentist later today. It is always something.
Hope both of you have a nice day!
Hugs,
Linda

Poor DD, Linda. It's always something. I'm sure she wishes everything thing to go smoothly for a long time. I'm sorry DH was up so much during the night. Did you ever get an answer about the hand swelling?
It's in the 90's today. I went to a Silpada jewelry show at the home of a former co-worker. Saw about 5 people I worked with. It was great to see people. How spoiled I am though. She didn't have ac and it was so hot and muggy. I ended up ordering a reversible pendant. Turquoise on one side black on the other.
Barbara, I hope your flight went well and Sydnie can have some beach time.
R didn't get down today to pack up the camper so will do it tomorrow. I am not volunteering to help.

Greetings from Virginia beach. I am so glad we booked a place o the ocean. M and Syd are swimming and I am sitting under cover in their outside restaurant. We are able to stay here until the 5th rather than change hotels. We are on the top floor so will have a good view f the the fireworks.
Sydnie dances her solo to,or row. Her other coach is coming here to wor with her at 1.
Linda..hope you had a better night with dh. Poor dd always seems to have something to deal with.
Claudia..yikes to the mice in the mattress. I have dropped cards in between the car seats . Usually Syd can get them for me.
have a great day.

That is a lovely picture of Sydnie. The best of wishes for her solo tomorrow.
Today is an achy day. The mowing plus all the walking on uneven ground at the show caught up with me. The humidity didn't help either.
Linda, I just saw the news about the terrorist attack in Turkey. Will that affect DH's son and family travel plans?
06-28-2016 08:41 PM
I surely hope DH's son and family were not at that airport, Claudia. I think they might have been there a few days ago. Then, they were going to other parts of Turkey. I know that his son was only planning to be away for two weeks, and I am sure that he will be flying back from Istanbul. Hopefully, things will be settled by then. Yikes!
Meanwhile, his SIL is in Bali for three weeks, and apparently things are pretty wild in California with the girls out of school and his DD working (she works all night some nights, etc.) She has some grandparents to help, but apparently things did not go as planned yesterday which was disappointing for the girls.
My SIL had an abscess which the dentist drained. That helped a lot, but he will probably need at least one root canal now. DD and the others are feeling better, but I don't think everyone is over the sinus problems.
Sorry that you are achy today, Claudia. Please try to take it easy for a while. I don't think I could handle a place that did not have AC. I think everyone around here has AC -- sort of a necessity in this area. But, I do remember the days when AC was not common in Maryland, and it was very hot. And, DH's DD's house does not have AC. I can't get used to the idea any more. Spoiled for sure. Hope you like your purchase.
Looks like you are having a great time in VA Beach, Barbara. I hope Syd's solo goes okay, and M doesn't stress too much about it.
The nurse didn't call until late yesterday, and she said she thought maybe DH was in pain but could not articulate it. She said to try some Tylenol at bedtime, and he slept much better. That certainly made me happy. I don't think he has any swollen parts today, thank goodness.
Hope both of you sleep well.
Hugs,
Linda

70's and overcast here. I'll take it. I grocery shopped this morning and did a few errands. Right now I could take a nap but I still have things to get done.
I hope Sydnie's solo goes well, Barbara
Linda, how is DH' s hand?
I think the nap is going to win.
