REFORMED SHoPAH0LICS. Week of March 6

Good morning...church was very long this morning. I actually left early because I simply could not sit any more. I was going to do the floors today but it is breezy and the house is open so will do it tomorrow. Decided to tackle the oven instead...it is not too bad but there are spills that need attention.

Mothing on the agenda today. Maybe we will go for a ride and check out the wild flowers.

Sydnie got all of the equipment she needs for Pepper. The breeder said that pepper and one of her litter mates are very attached. He goes to his family on the 19th S do the other puppies, so Pepper will be alone. It will be easier for her to adjust to our home being away from the other puppies.

Claudia, sorry R is not feeling well. Good that Adan got off but sounds like you have a bit of a mess to clean up.

Linda, hope your day is going well.

I will check back later.

Re: REFORMED SHoPAH0LICS. Week of March 6

Good Afternoon/Evening.  Hope you are doing okay Barbara.  Our church was a little longer than normal, but that is often the case the first Sunday of the month because we have communion.  I noticed that the people handing out communion bread used hand sanitizer before doing so.  That was a complaint that the hospice nurse (who also goes to my church) had.  I guess he convinced them that flu season is not the time to take risks from germs.

DH slept pretty well last night, but I'm feeling a bit tired at the moment.  It might be a good idea to take a short nap so that I can stay awake for the last Downton Abbey show.

He did well at the gym today, and I did all my machines except for one that was broken.  I made some chicken soup for dinner (last of the COSTCO rotisserie chicken.)  It is pretty windy here, and I don't know if I'll take a walk or not.

Sorry R is sick, Claudia.  I hope he was able to get some help at urgent care.  Also hope you were able to straighten things out after Adam left.

Have a nice evening!

Hugs,

Linda

Re: REFORMED SHoPAH0LICS. Week of March 6

We left at 9 for the urgent care and got home after 4. I am pretty tired. R has bronchitis and was given an inhaler plus a prescription for his cough. I managed to clean up the yard and carry the garbage bags to the curb. I don't dare put out more than 6 bags. It will take some time to go through what Adam left. He stopped in Ohio last night and according to Whit may drive till he gets there tonight.

Mama cat is looking for the two "Littles" he took even though she still has 3 left.

I doubt I'll be able to stay up for Downton Abbey tonight.

After the he urgent care we stopped at Cracker Barrel for lunch. I drove both ways and R mentioned his hip bothered him.

Using his cellphone he tried to stop fb notifications going to his inbox and accidentally closed his fb  account. I think once home he fixed it. Last night he pretty much drove me crazy asking for things but has settled down now.

I'm glad DH had a good night,Linda. A short nap is probably a good idea.

By, I am sure Pepper will quickly bond with Sydnie. Sorry you had to get up and leave church a bit early.

Re: REFORMED SHoPAH0LICS. Week of March 6

What a long time you spent going to urgent care, Claudia.  Glad R has some medicine now.  I'm trying to restrain my "trashing" as well.  I'm really trying to get rid of stuff -- donation or trash, so if I can't get rid of everything this week, I will keep it until next week.

Interesting about Momma cat.  Hope that Adam makes it okay.  I remember when I left our home after my ex and I split -- there was an unbelievable amount of "stuff" to be trashed or donated.  Good reason not to keep so many extras.

I couldn't nap, but I did try to do so.  Fingers crossed that I don't nod off.  I am sure that they will have the episode on the computer sooner or later.

Sleep well.

Re: REFORMED SHoPAH0LICS. Week of March 6

Keep in mind Linda, I took him to the Erie VA urgent care- a 60 mile drive one way. I decided against the local hospital as the last time we were there they said he had colitis and it was his hip.

Adam stopped in Missouri about midnight last night. Whit had called an hour or so previous to say they were having a really bad storm. After that I didn't sleep very well.

Re: REFORMED SHoPAH0LICS. Week of March 6

Sorry that you didn't sleep well, Claudia.  Hope Whit's area wasn't too badly affected by the storms, and Adam makes it there okay today.  I e-mailed DH's DD, and they had lots of snow in the mountains of CA, and the road to the lodge or inn where they were staying was blocked off for several hours since a tree fell into the road.  Park rangers need to escort people out of the park.  They are leaving today, so I hope they make it okay.

I would be nervous about taking DH to a place that mis-diagnosed him as well.  Our local urgent care has a bad record in that department, but I may try a different urgent care in the area if I need to go there.  For DH, I can just call hospice.  He didn't sleep too well last night, and neither did I.  Mostly not his fault, but he was up several times.

He is out of his sleeping medicine again, but the I called the nurse and it should be delivered this afternoon.

His caregiver came this morning -- she had the flu.  She was very ill, but the medicine really helped.  Expensive, but.....  DD said that she is better as well, and busy cleaning and disinfecting everything.

I really enjoyed the final episode of Downton Abbey -- happy ending.  You might try PBS.org to see if it is available for viewing yet.  I don't like watching shows on the computer, but I have done so sometimes when I am desperate.

Hope you are doing okay today, Barbara, and both of you have a nice day.

Hugs,

Linda

Back from my massage and running errands. This afternoon will be spent doing laundry and washing all of the tile floor. That I will take my time doing.

It it is fairly cool here today but still berry lovely. Not warm enough for the pool.

claudia, sorry that r is sick. Hope Adam makes it safely. Where whit is really has bad storms. Hope you can rest up a bit today.

my legs are tingling...a side effect of the prednisone.."one I have not had before. Yikes.

Linda did not watch the final episode but it is recorded so I have it. I heard somewhere that it is coming back next year.  Sorry dh did not have a good night.  We are going to Big Bear on our trip back down here this fall and hope we do not hit snow.

Enjoy your day.

Re: REFORMED SHoPAH0LICS. Week of March 6

Today was a card playing morning...I really enjoy the people I play with. Have choir this afternoon...our concert is Sunday. I am singing It Might As Well Be Spring by Rodgers and Hammerstein...a song I have sung several times in the past.

My my leg tingling has subsided so I am feeling pretty good today. It is rather cool right now with a breeze so I haven't opened up the house yet.

i will check back later...hope your day is going well.

Re: REFORMED SHoPAH0LICS. Week of March 6

I'm glad the leg tingling has stopped for now, Barbara. It is nearly 70 degrees here.

We dropped TT at the groomers this morning and leave in about 40 minutes to pick him up.

R is feeling better after being on the z pack a day and a half. I think he's moved  from occasional bronchitis to chronic as he seems now to get it yearly. Given his smoking I'm not surprised.

I have been going through Adam's room and have 2 bags of garbage, 1 bag of donations. and some paper work that needs shredded.

Oops just got a call that TT is ready early so once R is out of the shower we'll head up there.

Re: REFORMED SHoPAH0LICS. Week of March 6

I was hoping R had stopped smoking, Claudia.  DD used to get bronchitis all the time when she was young, but fortunately has not had it much in the past several years.  Glad that you are making progress with Adam's mess, and R is doing better.  I imagine TT will look great.  Your weather is warmer than ours today -- our high was 60 degrees, and we even had a little rain last night and earlier today.  Any word from Adam?

DH's DD sent an e-mail late last night.  They had lots of snow, and had to follow a snowplow out of the park.  Good thing the car had 4-wheel drive.  The girls enjoyed the excitement.  She is working today, but should call tonight.

Glad your leg is better, Barbara.  You certainly don't need any more problems.  Glad you enjoy the card playing group and have a solo for next Sunday. I am sure you have a lovely voice.

It has been a pretty good day.  The lunch program was busy, but fine.  And, when I picked up DH, the aide said that he is doing much better in the afternoon now that I am bringing his lunch.  I guess he was hungry before.

Hope both of you have a nice evening and sleep well.

Hugs,

Linda
