Re: REFORMED SHOPaHOLICs. Week of February 11💜💜

Linda, I'm sure the flowers are lovely. Very thoughtful of DH's daughter.

R has the endoscopy but they were not able to do the colonoscopy. We were to be there at 10:45 but just before 7 we got a call asking us to be there by 8:15. It was a bit of a mad scramble. Temperatures were near 60 today but tomorrow it will be in the 30's.

We'll be driving to the VA late morning for one of his rescheduled appointments.

Barbara, Im glad your head was tolerable for part of the day.

I have been putting the dogs pills in pill pockets. Today Griff refused to eat them until I took the capsules out. Silly dog. He got the pills anyway.

I saw the local paper which we cancelled had nothing about the Florida situation. It seems there's Oonly Local news printed.

Re: REFORMED SHOPaHOLICs. Week of February 11💜💜

Glad you were able to get out before the headache got too bad, Barbara.  It is chilly here -- at least it seems chilly compared to our usual sunny, warm weather.  I don't think it made it to 60 degrees today, and it was raining all day.  I think it is supposed to be a bit warmer tomorrow.  We really need the rain, so I won't complain.

DD said my SIL brought both she and my DGD white roses and chocolate.  Not usual, and very nice.

Sorry R couldn't get both of his scopes, Claudia.  As you might imagine, the caregivers have problems getting some of the human patients to take their medication at DH's place.  They crush his pills, so there is no problem with him (he likes applesauce or yogurt.)

I forgot to mention that my SIL got some new medication and found that the prescription would cost over $500.  The pharmacist suggested a lower dose, and the doctor agreed.  The cost was $18 or so.  Yikes!

The gym was packed this morning.  Every machine I wanted to use was busy when I arrived.  Eventually, I did get on the machines, but....  I think it was because people didn't want to exercise outside in the rain.  However, there were two people in the outdoor pool.  Wow!

The caregivers group wasn't that great today.  Mainly, the regular leader was not there, and the man who lead the group (her boss) wasn't very good.  Also, none of the longer attending "regulars" were there, and only a few people I even recognized.  Hopefully, some got some good information.  One lady (who I had seen a few times) had a somewhat similar experience with her husband -- hospice saying he was about to pass, and then he got better.

Speaking of which, DH was in pretty good shape today.  He is certainly not that much better, but seems more alert now.  He is trying to talk, but cannot figure out how to do so in an understandable way.  The hospice nurse decided he could have soft food, and I plan to find some soft cookies for him (she said that would be okay.)

The school shooting was absolutely horrible.  It makes you afraid for your kids/grandchildren to go to school which is crazy.

Hope everyone sleeps well.

Hugs,

Linda

Re: REFORMED SHOPaHOLICs. Week of February 11💜💜

Good morning...it is cold here..I had to do a Target run because a lot of household supplies were low..there was a good wind and I am trying to get warm now..I have a blanket on and the heater going.

V said it was rainy and cool in Az yesterday.

i have laundry going and my headache is lingering..arghhh.

Claudia, ir is too bad r could not have both of us scopes..does that mean another trip for you. .?

Linda..sorry that your caregivers group was not as good as usual. That was nice of your sil..medication is very expensive..you would not want to know what I paid out of pocket last year and I have a very good drug plan.

Enjoy your day. Brrrrrrr⛄️

Re: REFORMED SHOPaHOLICs. Week of February 11💜💜

31° here. It was windy at the VA. After R's appointment we had a late lunch, early supper and got home late afternoon.

I am rather irritated. Sunday I went online to Pay the car lease payment because the bill was late arriving by mail. No confirmation and when I checked online it showed unpaid.  No pending transaction at the bank either. Emailed customer service- no response. I tried calling  but huge wait times so I called the automated number and paid plus a $7.50 fee. At least I got a confirmation number. Due date is Sunday so I hope it worked.

TT is a glutton. If he thinks he didn't get enough food he barks and barks until he gets a scoop more.

I'm not sure R needs the other scope for a bit. The specialist is more concerned about the esophagus.

Barbara, the wind always chills me to the bone.

It's a shame none of your friends were at the caregivers meeting, Linda.

R is very fortunate that most of his meds are covered by the VA. Griff's monthly medicine runs $24 in capsule form. In pill form $300!!

Re: REFORMED SHOPaHOLICs. Week of February 11💜💜

Another rainy and cool (50's) day here.  Very strange weather.  Fortunately, we do need the rain, and hopefully this will help.

Hope you can keep warm, Barbara.  I know that medication can be very costly.  Even years ago, my MIL's medicines were quite expensive.  Wish that the prices could be lowered somehow.  Hope your headache goes away soon.

That is quite a difference in price for Griff's medicine, Claudia.  Your weather doesn't sound very nice to me.  Hope the snow isn't too bad there.  DD said they are expecting four inches on Saturday night.

Sorry about the car lease.  DD had a similar problem with her mortgage payment a couple of months ago.  The bill didn't come and didn't come, and she ended up paying over the phone with an extra $10 charge.  The bill arrived several days late, so she was happy that she paid it.   Those sorts of things drive me crazy.

DH was in very good shape today, but he was sure doing a lot of talking (and not making much sense). the caregiver told me he talked a lot in the morning (even during breakfast) in Turkish.   He ate lunch very well, if slowly.

I went to the store and bought cookies for DH after class this afternoon.  Hope he likes them.

Sleep well everyone!

Hugs,

Linda

Re: REFORMED SHOPaHOLICs. Week of February 11💜💜

Good Morning!  I saw on FB that Barbara is returning to Arizona today.  Hope your flight is good, with no delays, etc.  It was very foggy here this morning, but the sun seems to be coming out a little now.  We had three days of rain and cool weather, but I think it should be warmer today with at least some sun.  We desperately need rain, so I should not complain.

I didn't see the Linea show which was on at 4:00 a.m. here, but I ended up purchasing some pants that were presented.  I already have a pair of those pants, and I was afraid they would sell out since they fit me perfectly and are quite nice.  There goes my streak of not purchasing clothes, shoes, etc.  At least I made it for half a month.   Did you order anything, Claudia?  I understand the host was not prepared or good, but I saw Louis in AM Style, and he seemed to be doing okay.

Nothing exciting planned today -- laundry, financial review, and visiting DH.  Our accountant sent a packet for me to fill in the numbers (income, etc.), and I'm trying to do that as soon as I receive things.  Slow process, but I hope to have everything before the taxes are due.

Hope everyone has a nice day!

Hugs,

Linda

Re: REFORMED SHOPaHOLICs. Week of February 11💜💜

It's cold and in the upper 20's today. I've been out only to pick up milk and clean up the yard.

Hope you had a good flight, Barbara.

I picked up the gauze crepe items In Sangria, Linda.

I ended up calling the leasing company as payment did not show updated online. Everything is straightened out.
