Re: REFORMED SHOPAHOLICs -- Week of September 23

That concert sounds great, Claudia.  Hope that R doesn't have any new problems.  Yikes about the CU card.  At least you caught it early.

Hi Barbara.  Hope you have a good trip back.  It is supposed to reach nearly 100 degrees here, but they are saying next week should be cooler with the possibility of rain.

No problems with the car -- oil changed and it is good to go so long as another window does not break or something.  I went to the pool yesterday afternoon, and it was very nice.   I had a good walk this morning, and I'm doing laundry now.  Also did a little cooking this morning.

By the time I called the broker yesterday afternoon, the transfer office was closed.  But, I found out that I could not get the money out of DH's daughter's account, but she could ask that it be done.  I sent an e-mail and called her, and she took care of it this morning.  At least, it should be taken care of Monday morning.  Sometimes I think the broker, banks, etc. just want to put little bumps in the process to keep things interesting.

No, house his son is inheriting is not the Arizona house, Barbara.  I have lifetime use of this house, and when I leave or die, both of DH's children will inherit it.  Since neither seems to like Arizona much, I imagine they will just sell it.

The house that his son is inheriting is the one where he lives now in Maryland.  This had been DH's house before he moved in with me, and is in a very nice neighborhood.  The house is could use some renovation, but it would sell for a lot of money.  However, I don't think his son is planning to sell any time soon since the house is convenient to the subway, DC, and the schools are excellent, etc.

Hope all goes well for both of you today, and you sleep well.

Hugs,

Linda

Re: REFORMED SHOPAHOLICs -- Week of September 23

I hope your flight went well, Barbara. The airports we have used are smaller for the most part but we've always allowed 2 hours before the flight.

Linda, I'm happy to hear the money snafu is being straightened out. I had never heard about opening the Windows every so often. From now on I'll do so.

My day was not the greatest. Griff 's ear still bothered him so the vet said to bring him in asap and they'd fit him in. It was a long wait and Griff was uncomfortable with the number of people and animals but we managed. I have drops for his ear. At least it is only once daily and they administered the first dose.

He was good when the vet checked his ears. He must have sensed she was going to help him. I'm betting when I put the drops in tomorrow I'll be chasing him around the house.

Once home i fixed a late breakfast/early lunch and proceeded to drop both parts. For supper we decided to pick up stromboli at the Italian place as the sign said it was today's special. It wasn't. No stromboli. After breaking the news to R we ordered carryout at Bob Evans.

Stopping the one med has not helped R sleep so I will be messaging that doctor on secure messaging. Also need to message the VA dentist. The specialist told R to tell  VA dental about a cavity under a tooth he'd worked on.
