REFORMED SHOPAHOLICS week of April 10

Good morning. m is getting Syd ready for dance..she is in a big production number today. I hoe m brings her home after and does not stay for awards which are tonight.

Her groups did well yesterday 2 first place platinujms and 2 high golds. So Syd was happy.

I am very tired...being so overdue fr my infusion is playing havoc with my body.,I am staying home...do not want yo leave Pepper alone all day even though she did fine plus I am very tired.

I hope your day is going well. A foot of snow would not make me happy, Claudia.

Re: REFORMED SHOPAHOLICS week of April 10

I am so sorry you are very tired. Hopefully you can get your infusion soon. A friend in MI was sick several weeks with symptoms very similar to yours. She saw her doctor Friday and was given a B12 shot.

I am achy today after all the hours at the firehall yesterday. Those hard floors do me no favors. At least we did not get the snow overnight that was forecast.

We may be going out to lunch at a newly opened restaurant out in the county run by one of R's muzzleloader friends.

Re: REFORMED SHOPAHOLICS week of April 10

Good Morning/Afternoon!  Sorry you are so tired and achy, Barbara.  How soon will you have your infusion?  Sounds like Syd and company did great with her dance competition.  Hope that continues today, and Pepper continues to be such a joy.

A foot of snow, Claudia -- yikes!  I would have been tired just being at one place for so long yesterday.  Sorry you are achy..  What did you make for dessert (sorry if you already told us.)  Hope you like the restaurant.

DH was up every hour last night, and I am very tired myself.  I did make it to church, and we will be going to the gym soon.  I ran into the male nurse after church, and he said he really wanted to come to our house.  He also said that it was possible that DH will be assigned to him again.  There is a new director, and he thinks she might make some changes.

I don't mind the nurse being slightly late, but 45 minutes is a bit  too much.  Hopefully, she will be more prompt next time.

Hope both of you have a nice evening.

Hugs,

Linda

Torn up angel food cake, instant pudding mixed with 1 1/2 cups of milk and 1/2 cup of sour cream and poured over cake. Then a can of pie filling over the top.

It's official. I've totally lost it. Mid morning I was sitting in the living room and saw my feet. I had two different shoes on. Similar style but totally different colors.

Linda, that's encouraging news about DH's male nurse.

We intended to go out for lunch but R was too sleepy.

Claudia..the shie thing is funny. One time my mom wore a flat shoe and a high heel to church and did not realize it until she was walking down the aisle. It was hilarious.

 That dessert sounds yummy.

Linda, sorry dh was up so much last night...it is hard when one does not gift enough sleep. Hope you can nap.

Pepper met our neighbors and they said she could run in their fenced yard anytime....I thought that was nice.

Sleep well.

Re: REFORMED SHOPAHOLICS week of April 10

That does sound like a nice offer from your neighbors, Barbara.  I'm sure Pepper is adorable, which certainly does not hurt.  Hope you are feeling okay today, not too achy.  I heard an advertisement for a newer pneumonia vaccine on TV, and I was wondering if you had it?  I did last Fall -- this one is specifically for "older" people (can't remember the age).  I wondered since I one of my friends got shingles despite having had the shingles vaccine.  I know that no vaccine is 100% effective, but.....  DH had some B-12 shots for a while, but they didn't do anything for him.  Of course, nothing really seems to help with dementia.

Your dessert sounds delicious, Claudia.  DH's DIL has made desserts with cake, pudding, etc., and I have enjoyed them a lot.  Right now, I want to find as many "finger food" desserts as possible -- cookies and brownies, etc.  Feeding DH is not all that fun for me.  And, food still ends up on the floor if we don't coordinate the mouth and spoon or fork action.  LOL

I did take a nap yesterday afternoon after lunch, and it helped a lot.  Our weather was crazy yesterday -- rain, sun, rain plus sun, wind, etc.  So, we did not take a walk.  At least I got plenty of exercise at the gym.  Last night, DH slept so much better -- only got up at 5:00, and I was able to go back to sleep until 6:00.  And, our weather seems a lot calmer and should be warmer.

I have a bookclub meeting today -- "Circling the Sun" by Paula McLain is the book -- interesting historical fiction.  We are meeting at a golf club restaurant where they have half-priced appetizers.  No one volunteered to have the meeting at their house.  A caregiver will be coming to sit with DH.

Hope both of you have a nice day!

Hugs,

Linda

Re: REFORMED SHOPAHOLICS week of April 10

I saw my rheumatologist this morning. He gave me a referral to a foot dr because I am having a lot of pain in my right foot.

m works from home today...I have a puppy on my lap now. She had gum in her mouth this morning...yikes. She is very adventurous.

Linda...good that you got more sleep last night. Your book club sounds nice. Is that book any good.?

my cleaning lady is coming soon, thank goodness. I need to pick up a couple of things.

Claudia, hope your day is going well.

Hope the foot doctor helps, Barbara.  I enjoyed the book -- interesting story about a very unusual lady from Kenya.  Really wild lady, and a pioneer(pilot and horse trainer).

Re: REFORMED SHOPAHOLICS week of April 10

We have rain here today and the snow is gone hopefully not to return. Tomorrow is a 9 AM VA appt. I hope to drive home by way of NY state. There is an estate  (huge) not too far from the route we usually take. Unbelievable- 9 sofas, 7 china cabinets, a large number of dolls and John Deere collectibles (which I have no interest in). Seeing all the photos I can see why it's a 5 day sale. There's a few smaller items I'm interested in.  It's a very high end sale. I also need to get a few things at Wegman's.

We'll be taking the Impala as I need to schedule the suv. Every so often the stabilitrak shuts off and today the hot engine and coolant. It was the lowest of the 3 warnings but I'd rather not drive it 170 miles till it's checked. I'll just add it to the list of things that need done.

This is a busy week with the VA appt. tomorrow, Griff's shots on Wednesday, and TT's heartworm test Friday. Next week is another VA appt. and one the week after.

Yikes on Pepper getting the gum, Barbara. I hear that's very dangerous as it causes their blood sugar to drop. I'm always making sure mine is not accessible and was constantly moving Adam's. Your neighbor's offer of use of their fenced yard is great.

Sorry you need to see the foot specialist.

Linda, I'm glad you got a nap in yesterday and more sleep last night for you and DH. Enjoy the book club.

I did go through several drawers this morning and dropped off a bag of donations. Much more needs done. R's bloating is better but his ribs are hurting. He's doing a lot of napping. I'm not sure if the fatique comes from him no longer smoking or something else. I know the anniversary is coming up of the date a buddy from boot camp was killed.
