I'm posting now because I'm very tired and not sure how long I will stay awake . The alarm didn't go off but I woke up 4 minutes after the time it was set for which was too darn early for me.
R's replacement shoes finally arrived. A month ago when he burned his arm he also spilled molten lead on his fairly new orthopedic sneakers. At least it didn't burn through to his toes.
R had to drive up because it was dark until we were almost there. The extractions took less time than I expected. He goes back in 2 monthes. Thank heaven that appointment will not be as early as today's was. We got home an hour before his acupuncture appointment. He debated trying to hunt from the blind this afternoon but decided against it. He's still considering going out tomorrow. Hopefully not.

Good Evening! Do take your pain medication, Barbara. Pain certainly makes caregiving more difficult. I am glad V will be getting daily therapy, but sorry about his back. At least the weather is nice.
The hospice deliveries went okay -- no new patients, plus fewer stops and boxes. I made it home by the time I had planned (5:30).
Today, I went to a "newcomers" brown bag picnic at the "garden club" park. It was very nice, and all of us had been fully vaccinated. While it was outdoors, no one wanted to deal with unvaccinated people. Anyway, a lady came late (neighbor of a relative of one of the participants), and someone asked if she was vaccinated. When she said no, we asked that she wear a mask. She refused, and those of us near her moved our chairs away a bit. After a short while, she got up and left. She was pretty militant about it (her immune system was good, etc.), but we didn't hold our tongues. None of us were unhappy when she left.
I checked with my friend, Bev, and she isn't doing that well. While her radiation treatments are finished, the after effects (tiredness, etc.) are still bothering her. Plus, she had another painful injection in her eye yesterday. It was slightly less painful than the last shot, but she couldn't sleep and was really bothered by the pain. Like you, she didn't want to complain, but she said the last couple of months have been very hard on her. I repeat -- vent and complain to your friends. While we can't help, at least we can sympathize.
I think a lot of retail workers feel they are not being paid enough to put up with working conditions in the stores. Many customers are frustrated, and they take it out on the people who serve them. I am sure it is difficult sometimes. In one of the stores DGS was trying to staff (in Maine), he only had eight people so far -- including management. The goal is to have 40 employees when opening a new store. Very discouraging.
Sorry you overslept and are so worn out, Claudia. At least R's extractions didn't take as long as you feared, and the new shoes arrived. Glad the next appointment isn't so early.
I realized that I didn't buy as much fresh fruit as I would like, but I'm not sure that I feel like going to the store today. Perhaps tomorrow or Sunday. I am also interested in buying some more vegetables. I will be going to the gym soon.
Hope both of you sleep well tonight.
Hugs,
Linda

Good afternoon..we had our first frost last night. M did a hilarious thing this morning. She runs her thermostat off of her phone, Syd texted that she was still cold so m turned the heat up more...After Syd called and asked for a jacket, m forgot she was volunteering at the local pumpkin patch.
lol
I am trying to do less today . I slept 10 hours last night. Yikes
!inda..itis good that the unvaccinated person left. As I said, I never go in a store without a mask. Tomorrow Syd and I are going to see Dune..I read most of the 8 or so books in the series.
I will add a special prayer for Bev for strength and peace.
I agree with you on retail, workers not being paid enough.
Claudia..hope you are more rested.
I am going to knit on my heat.
have a good day. 👻👻🎃🎃

That is a funny story about M, Barbara. Glad you got some rest, and are taking it easy. Appreciate your prayers for Bev.
I haven't accomplished as much as I had hoped today, but it has been a good day so far. As you may read on the other thread, DH's friend and Jo Ann called me, and both talked for a while. He talked much longer than Jo Ann, and she sounded very confused. She said she isn't doing well, but is not in pain. I think (not sure) she is suffering from memory problems. In fact, she called me, and thought that I had called her. Upsetting.
I heard an interview about that movie, Barbara. The producer (?) really spent a huge amount of time with it. He said he fell in love with the story as a kid/teenager, and really wanted to do a good job. Not my kind of movie, but I hope you enjoy it.
I just watched "Lansky" which I borrowed from the library, and I thought it was good. Also watched "Victoria and Abdul" on Netflix, and really liked it.
Hope you, R, and your furbabies are doing okay, Claudia.
I'm glad our weather is a lot warmer than what some are having on the East Coast, etc. Still able to do without AC or heat, and I think that may continue for next week.
Have a nice evening and sleep well.
Hugs,
Linda

My guess is you probably needed the extra sleep, Barbara. I slept an hour later than usual this morning. I actually only got up because Rusty cat started tapping me.
It will take M a while to live that down.
I didn't do a lot today. R wanted to go out for lunch ( a bowl of soup for him). Then I needed to pick up a few things before he headed down to sit in the blind. He said if he got a deer he'd set up a table in the garage. Mr. Cheapskate doesn't want to pay for processing. I said I'd pay. I'm not up to dealing with the work it would involve. Hopefully he won't get anything. Wednesday night he tripped and fell in a stream. No boots. He was wearing his orthopedic sneakers. Today he took his boots that weigh a ton. At least he's in a blind and not halfway up a tree.
Years ago I read the Dune books. It's not really my type of movie, as Linda said. I hope it lives up to the books. So many movies don't imo. I had great hopes for Lord of the Rings but was disappointed as the director's interpretation differed from mine. Some parts I enjoyed. I know my brother enjoyed Dune.
R has to swish warm saltwater in his mouth and I needed to pick up salt and more yogurt at Wal-Mart. I walked past pajamas and spotted some warm soft ones in purple paisley and they came home with me. In my defense, I was left unsupervised. Lol.
That's too bad Jo Ann is confused, Linda. You're a good friend to her.
Today it was overcast and chilly (in the upper 40's).
