Re: REFORMED SHOPAHOLICS. Week of May 21

It is still morning here. I had my infusion earlier..no headache yet but it will come. It is another cool day...we are expecting more rain over the weekend. Syd will need to plant in between the drops.

Nothing very exciting here..I have a list of things to do..decided to do another big drcluttering...especially in the kitchen cupboards. But I have lots of time.

Bet gryffn looked beautiful. I love seeing gps at the televised dog shows. Hope r has more comfortable clothes on today. I think you have appointments today, claudia.

Linda..hope your day is going well. You are so good about spending time with Dh.i admire you a lot.

Re: REFORMED SHOPAHOLICS. Week of May 21

Good Morning/Afternoon!  Glad you had your infusion and hope it helps a lot, Barbara.  Also hope your headache isn't too bad.  I am trying to do more around the house, but I distract myself pretty easily.  I really should go through the kitchen cabinets again and get rid of some of the clutter.

Larry's wife brought in her two little dogs yesterday afternoon -- just came from the  groomers, and they looked very cute.  The "girl" was wearing a pink bow.  Glad your dogs look so nice after grooming, Claudia.  You certainly have your hands full between R and the dogs and cats, plus the house.  Yikes!  I hope R wears easier clothing today.  I  have only purchased clothing with elastic waists for DH for quite a while.  Good thing since it would be pretty much impossible for them to zip a zipper these days.

The termite inspector came, and all is well.  I need to pick up some more allergy medicine for DH, and produce for myself.  Maybe I will be able to some of that before I visit him.  Not sure if that will work or not.  Meanwhile, DD has been unable to sleep due to hip/lower back pain, and I sent her money to buy a special pillow that should help along with a regular pillow.  Not sleeping is so difficult.

It is hot here again today.  I started my walk before 6:30, and still was pretty warm by the time I got home.  Yikes!  I know it is that time of the year.

Hope Syd is able to get her planting done without getting too wet.

Take care!

Hugs,

Linda

Re: REFORMED SHOPAHOLICS. Week of May 21

Just home and plan to go to bed after I check emails.

The splint was taken off and srist/arm wrapped. Pt ordered to see what mobility comes back. Wrist was shattered so surgery may be an option depending on results from pt.

The neck is healing. Collar to stay on another month. We will leave early for his eye appointment at the VA tomorrow and stop by the clinic to see if his pain medicine can be ordered. The specialists day it needs to be through his regular doctor. He is still having a lot of pain from his arm.

Re: REFORMED SHOPAHOLICS. Week of May 21

Good Morning/Afternoon!  Hope your headache isn't too bad today, Barbara.  Also hope the infusion is kicking in and helping your pain.

Sounds like you are very busy taking R to his appointments, Claudia.  Hope his eye appointment went okay, and he is able to get some pain medication.  Long road ahead for him I am afraid.  Please take care of yourself, and get as much rest as possible.

I made it to the pool after visiting DH yesterday, and it was a very nice visit.  I ran into one of my buddies who had some good news -- her son and wife are moving here from Hawaii.  I think my friend is turning 80 this summer, and she had cancer a couple of years ago.  She will be happy to have them nearby.

I also met a new neighbor who lived in DC for 20 plus years -- near where DH lived and I grew up.  Very interesting lady -- well traveled, etc.  Originally from St. Paul, so she and my friend had lots of memories to share (my friend is from MN and then lived in San Francisco for many years before moving here.)  I had both a nice swim and good conversations.

I have decided DH has a cold, and I'm afraid I'm getting one as well.  Hope to fight that off.  It is still hot here, but not quite as hot and pretty windy.  They are predicting a high of 90 degrees tomorrow with wind.  Cool down for a little while at least.

Not sure if I mentioned the possible Fed Ex jobs for youngest DGS and Army DGS, but that is out.  They would have to work from midnight to 9:00 a.m. starting Thanksgiving, and that would make school work impossible.

Apparently, DH's DGD and son had a nice time together the other night, and he brought her cousin who is a couple of years older.  She had not seen him since she was two (now 13), and I'm glad they could get together.

Need to get ready to go to the "newcomers" lunch now.

Hope both of you are okay.  Please take care.

Hugs,

Linda

Re: REFORMED SHOPAHOLICS. Week of May 21

I am having a so so Day but not sitting around. My left jaw is very swollen...THIS IS THE RA ATTACKING IT (yikes, sorry about the caps). It makes itvdifiiicult yomest anything. I have this happen every once in a while.

I did did go to knitting..And have laundry going. My headache is pretty well controlled with my pain meds. Tomorrow should be better.

Claudia, rs wrist must be pretty painful...my voice coach broke hers last august and 2 surgeries later, she is still dealing with it. Hope he can get his pain meds. Please take care of yourself.

Linda, how nice you met your friends. I work hard at maintaining my friendships even though I do not see them often. Hope your cold does not settle in. FedEx jobs can have brutal hours...that would not work out for school.glad dhs grands could get together. My grandchildren enjoy each other a lot.

It it remains cool and cloudy here..hope syd can plant some today.

Re: REFORMED SHOPAHOLICS. Week of May 21

Sorry about the swelling, Barbara. I mis-typed, it was UPS not Fed Ex, but the same idea.

Lunch was pretty nice, but I'm not sure that I'll be hanging out with any of these ladies.

Re: REFORMED SHOPAHOLICS. Week of May 21

Home from today's trip. R's eyes have changed slightly so he will get new frames and lenses.. On our way we stopped at the pt  place and scheduled him for next week. Also stopped at the VA clinic to inquire about pain medication. Reception said the specialist would have to fax a referral. After R's eye appt. I drove down to the specialist's office and made the request. Hopefully they will be willing to do it.

Tomorrow should be fairly calm. I just need to get milk.

Sorry UPS was not a good option for jobs, Linda. What a nice visit you had with your friend and new neighbor. I hope you do not catch DH's cold. Great that the 2 cousins could meet.

How painful, Barbara. I hope you soon feel better. It's good you could get to knitting.

Doctors felt R could go to his reunion. Yesterday he felt he could drive. Today, with not knowing how much use he'll have of the hand he is more agreeable to the thought of flying. We shall see.

Re: REFORMED SHOPAHOLICS. Week of May 21

Good morning...I made it to the grocery store. My back I still bothering me a lot...so I have the heating pad on and will sit for a while.it looks like rain again..hope it clears up this afternoon.

Sydnie can now do a front handspring, that is the first step in getting an aerial...a no hands cartwheel. She loves the trampoline.

Claudia..hope r can get his pain meds. Those can be so important to a recovery. I would fly rather than drive...when is the reunion.???

Linda hope your day goes well.

Have a a good one.

Re: REFORMED SHOPAHOLICS. Week of May 21

Good Morning/Afternoon and thanks for getting us started, Barbara.  Very sorry to hear about your back.  Do you often get these sorts of backaches after infusions?  Hope it goes away pronto.  Sounds like Syd is doing great on the trampoline.

Really hope R can get his pain medicine, Claudia.  Flying rather than driving sounds like a good idea to me.  Hope it is a quiet day for you.

I did not sleep well at all last night -- up and down, couldn't get comfortable, etc.  I think I do have a bit of DH's cold, but I'm still fighting it.

It is a bit cooler here today, but they are saying it may reach 100 on Sunday.  It is that time of year here.  I keep seeing others complain about their cool and wet spring, and I guess I would rather have the heat.  That is as long as the AC is working.

I plan to go to the gym this morning before I visit DH.  No other big plans, and I may try a nap this afternoon.  He was so sleepy yesterday, which may be due to his cold.  The nurse said his lungs are clear, so it is just in his sinuses, etc.  He did manage to wake up so I could feed him dinner.  The nurse told me not to force it if he did not do so.

Hope both of you have a good day.

Hugs,

Linda

Re: REFORMED SHOPAHOLICS. Week of May 21

Linda, a nap sounds like a good idea if you are not 100%.  My back is related to my juvenile disc disease...I have had back issues since I was 13.. sometimes I get epidural.

This is not bad enough for that. A heating pad and being careful usually works for m.

Hope me you feel better.
