Re: REFORMED SHOPAHOLICS - Week of February 24

I Wii do a quic update on v..when I looked at his legs this morning one was bright red he had an abscess on the leg by the calf that he ended up seeing a wound specialist for months before they could get it to heal. I decided he has cellulitis so after a lot of prodding, he agreed to go to urgent care.

i was right. My mom had it several times which is why I recognized it. So got a big injection of an antibiotic and will be on oral ones for a couple of weeks. Yikes.

Claudia..that was a horrible week for. I have had a couple like that in the past   Hope your weather remains decent.

Linda..hope you are feeling better

Re: REFORMED SHOPAHOLICS - Week of February 24

That was certainly a difficult week for you in March of "06, Claudia.  Even if things don't go that well this month, I think it will have to be better.  Sorry about Tippy's chewing, etc.  Hope you do avoid the big snow.  It looks like DD's area will get several inches of snow tomorrow.  Hopefully, DGS will be able to drive back and forth to Reserves without too much trouble.

Good catch, Barbara.  Thank goodness V agreed to go to urgent care.  I hope the medicine helps him quickly.  Hope you are doing okay as well.

I'm still having some allergy/cold symptoms.   I ended up buying some Vicks and a nasal spray when I was shopping for the hospice caregiver today.  Good thing I don't mind grocery shopping, because it was a challenge.  He listed lots of specific products, and I did not know what some were.  One was a vitamin for the eyes, but I thought it was eye drops.  The pharmacy assistant was no help at first, but eventually told me to look in the vitamins.  He had not included the whole name.  Anyway, he was a very nice man, but I never did get to meet the patient who was napping for the entire time I was there, at the store, and came back.

I know he was lonely, and I hope that I can help again in the future.  I would really like to meet his wife (the patient), but......

I'm way behind in doing my regular Saturday chores, but I'm trying not to stress about it.

Hope both of you have a nice evening and sleep well.

Hugs,

Linda

Good thing you spotted the cellulitis, Barbara. Dad had it once and mother, being a former RN spotted it. As I recall (I was organizing his pill box back then) they were referred to as horse sized pills. Maybe they've decreased in size since then.

Good thing you don't mind grocery shopping, Linda. It's difficult though when you front know where certain things are located or not exactly what they are.
