Re: REFORMED SHOPAHOLIC s. Week of December 4

I hope they can get the new lady settled down,  Linda. what a wild chase she must have had her family on before coming to the care place. it sounds like a very nice Tuesday lunch today.

I picked TT's tramadol up at the vet today. I had to go back because they hadn't filled his prescription bottle yet. I decided to go to Wegman's for a few things because it was senior discount day before returning for the pills. it a drizzly cold day. The recycling is out except for the cardboard. I managed to schedule Griff for grooming tomorrow. Thursday the suv goes in for an oil change.

I remember the little milk cartons in school as being lukewarm.

3 of the cat carriers are down from the attic in preparation for the kittens trip to the vet, Friday. R plans to go  bcc back to hunting camp before then so loading them up will be interesting to say the least.

Barbara, enjoy your  bargains.

Re: REFORMED SHOPAHOLIC s. Week of December 4

Linda...happy birthday. I hope you have a wonderful day.

i am off to a massage shortly and then a voice lesson...both of which I enjoy. The are between my shoulder blades gets sore from holding my music folder when I sing so I need to have her work on that area.

it is chilly at home...is predicted to be 1 degree when we go home Tuesday. I have not informed v yet. V 3 said they had a blizzard yesterday in North Dakota with the city closed..no school, etc. so he enjoyed the day with his family..

i try try to drink at least 8 ounces of milk daily. When I had osopenia, my dr. Told me to up my calcium intake by drinking milk, and eating more dairy, plus a huge amount of calcium supplement and actobel. It worked.

Claudia, glad you got Whitneys address. Does she see her boys st all??? Hope r is feeling better.

Linda, enjoy your special day and your trip. We have been to Prescott several times and enjoyed it. Hope dh is good today.

off to find some lunch.

[ Edited ]

Barbara, I'm not sure how often Whit has the boys. she was to have them last week but changed that thinking to go to the pipeline. Thank goodness that didn't work out.

I hope the massage helped. it certainly is cold where V3 and family are. Maybe it's better for V not to know just how cold it is.

Linda, I  hope you have had a very good birthday and enjoy the trip.

We picked Griffyn up at 4 and he looks gorgeous. He was very happy to get home. I woke at 4 this morning so am tired. I'm trying to wait till 9 in order to give TT his pills.

Re: REFORMED SHOPAHOLIC s. Week of December 4

Good Evening!  Thanks for the birthday wishes.  It has been a very quiet birthday, but that is okay.  I'm sure I'll have plenty of excitement on the trip.  I took my long walk, visited DH where they had Zumba (chair type), that I enjoy.  After feeding him lunch, I went to pick up the cupcakes and deposit a check before coming home to wait for the plumber.  He was draining my hot water heater and checking the outside faucet covering.  He also replaced one of the shower heads with one I got at the energy saving class.  Very nice guy.  The financial adviser called, and she will send me suggestions for investments via e-mail.  We will talk more on Monday.

One of the caregivers asked me if I would be willing to donate a blanket for a couple of the ladies who get cold (both are in wheelchairs).  So, after the plumber left, I ran up to Wal-Mart and bought a throw as well as some candy for DH, etc.  Then, I had to race to the facility to feed DH dinner.  They were having pizza, so I had pizza along with another piece of the carrot cake.  Not the most nutritious diet, but.....

Glad you had a massage and a voice lesson, Barbara.  I wouldn't tell V about the cold.  Makes me chilled to read about it.  Really hope M does get the work at home job.

Nice that Griff is so handsome, Claudia.  I hope you stayed up late enough to give TT his pills.  I hope Whit does have time with her boys.  Difficult situation.  The plumber was telling me a funny story about his hunting trip in the mountains.  It was his first time driving in snow, and he was afraid that he was gong to crash into a tree.  Fortunately, he did not, and the car was not damaged.  But, he was pretty shaken.

Hope both of you sleep well and thanks again for the birthday messages.

Hugs,

Linda

Re: REFORMED SHOPAHOLIC s. Week of December 4

I had terrible cards at bridge this morning...but still had fun. Then I had lunch with one of my friends. I am going to practice my songs and then go play duets with another friend. V is playing bridge.

i am not cooking tonight. 😍

M did not get the job .,she thinks her boss is giving her a bad reference to keep her there. I felt badly for her...but something will turn up eventually.

Linda..glad you had a nice birthday....enjoy your trip.

Claudia I bet gryff looks gorgeous. Hope whit gets to spend time with her boys.

Re: REFORMED SHOPAHOLIC s. Week of December 4

I'm not cooking either,  Barbara. I picked up lasagna at Pellegrino's. Today was spent on errands. After the oil change I picked up the farm milk. I also managed to get some of their eggnog. it is really good and I'm not a milk drinker.

That's a shame M did not get the job. I hope something shows up sooner  rather than later for her.

Tomorrow I have the task of corraling the 3 kittens for their vet visit. I hope there isn't much snow. Today it was 28 degrees and a bit windy.

Linda, I hope  you enjoyed today's trip.

Re: REFORMED SHOPAHOLIC s. Week of December 4

Sorry M didn't get the job, Barbara.  Sounds like you had a pretty nice day.  Since I'm on the trip, no cooking for me either.  Three for three.

You had a busy day, Claudia.  Hope the kittens are okay tomorrow, and you do not have much  if any snow.

The trip is very nice so far.  I enjoyed the meal at the "Dude ranch" at Wickenburg, as well as the museum there.  They had a really neat model train set-up in one of the building, and nice displays and Western art in another.  Remington bronzes were my favorites.

The hotel is nice -- connected to a casino, which helps since the restaurant is pricey and dinner was not included in the tour.  They have a really neat display of gingerbread houses -- competition among the locals.  And, then we went to one of those drive-through Christmas light display.

We have a walking tour of Prescott tomorrow morning -- they told us to dress warmly, and I will.

The caregiver said DH was doing fine when I called.

Hope both of you sleep well.

Hugs,

Linda

Re: REFORMED SHOPAHOLIC s. Week of December 4

Good morning...the new dryer came and it is running very quietly...a nice change from the old one that made horrible screechy noises. V is home today...I have another rehearsal this afternoon.

It it is going to be so nice here...it will be a chilly transition to the cold north country. I have lots of warm clothes at home. Lol.

Linda, your trip sounds nice..I have visited those sites in Wickenberg...I think you will find Prescott very pretty.

Claudia..did you get the snow..I saw a news report on traffic problems on i90 close to where you live. Looks like terrible weather.

Nothing else to go report from here.

Have a great day.

Re: REFORMED SHOPAHOLIC s. Week of December 4

Oh yes, we got the snow. I shoveled an hour ago and by the time I finished I needed to start over. I need to go out again shortly and shovel again. I did reschedule the vet appointment. If it's bad here it's even worse there.

R called earlier. He tried hunting this morning but he had difficulty walking in the snow and had to stop due to his legs hurting. Something he needs to check out.

It certainly was a terrible accident, went on I-90. I saw pictures.

The surrounding counties cancelled school. Our rural district had a 2 hour delay. There were reports of buses unable to get up the hills.

Linda, I'm glad you're enjoying the trip. Hope you enjoy the walking tour.

Going to MN certainly Wil be a weather change after Phoenix, Barbara. Good thing you have warm others waiting there for you.

The dogs bounced around the yard and wrestled when I let them out. No the shepherd was bouncing around inside he was so excited. Silly 10 year old dog.
