Re: Queen Returns to London

[ Edited ]

Not much of a fan of the headscarf look, but there are some beautiful ones out there and they do serve the purpose of being a lightweight head/ear covering.

The queen is from an age where women wore scarves when they went outside.  So did Jackie K.  There is nothing wrong with it nor does it look odd.  Everyone dresses as they wish, that is why we and the British Isles live free.  (for now)

My grandmother, aunt, and mother all wore headscarves. They always looked nice and put together. In bad weather the scarf kept their hair looking great when they got to their destination. What memories!

Head scarves are sort of a good idea. You can stuff it in your pocket ,and pull it out if it starts to rain, or gets windy ,and you aren't stuck wearing a hat, which always messes up your hair

cannot say i am seeing anyone wear a head scarf look these days......and my mom and her friends are 80+. they usually DO use umbrellas or have a service that takes them right to the front door of wherever they are headed.

He retired from public like 2-3 years ago.  He put his time in, now he's enjoying his favorite estate.

According to the rags, the Duke divides his time between Wood Farm on the Sandringham Estate and Windsor Castle and of late Prince Philip has been spending more of his time in Norfolk than Berkshire, it has been reported.

They speak every day on the phone and I think when he's at the house closer to London she goes there on the weekend and one night during the week or something.

I can't find the article I read that in.

I doubt the Queen cares who does and who doesn't wear head scarves. It works for her, and that is all she cares about....I might stuff one into my pocket for emergency's

You and I agree, @cherry ! If I thought it would be openly symbolic of honoring her dignity and constancy over her long and dedicated life, I'd wear one myself, and be proud to do so.

@January121   Me too, January.  She reminds me so much of my mother.  I always told her she had Queen Elizabeth hair😉
