There is a book titled The Other Side of the Coin (The Queen, the Dresser and the Wardrobe) by Angela Kelly. Ms, Kelly is the Queen's Senior Dresser and has been with Her Majesty for 28 years. The book was published two years ago but Ms. Kelly updated the book as a Platinum Jubilee Edition this year. I purchased mine from e-Bay and the seller was in Canada. You can shop different sites and find the best price for you and if you want the original or the special edition. I have not read it yet but it is up to date with Jubliee preparations. Most pictures are full page and are just beautiful.

If she has no intention of ever wearing the same thing twice, why would she even keep or store it? I doubt she has voluminous closets except for the matronly dresses she wears daily. She always wears the same shoes and handbag.

I've always admired their grim determination to stay well dressed.
You can see this on youtube if you search for it. At Princess Diana's funeral service, the Queen Mother climbs the steps into the cathedral. There's a soldier escorting her, but he doersn't dare grab her elbow. Why? She's about two months away from having a hip replacement and she's wearing heels and nobody is going to do it for her. Unbelievable iron will.
The queen has a woman who breaks in all her shoes for her. Consider being her age and still wearing leather shoes at events that can go on for hours. And she's been elderly for decades.
I believe the royal family is long lived because it's a fabulous lifestyle, probably the best in the world.

You must be joking .... a "grim determination" to stay well dressed? Seriously?
That woman has more servants that she can count! Multiple people are PAID to take care of her wardrobe. There is nothing for her to do but walk into her dressing area, stand up straight and let someone put clothes on her. I don't see any "grim determination" needed for that.
I did NOT know, however, that someone breaks her shoes in for her.
Well, Charles has a valet that folds his toilet paper for him, so it's ready to go, so he isn't inconvenienced by doing that for himself. I'll stop there, although I'm not sure the servants do. Ugh.

I want to know how her hats are stored. They probably need their own room. Kate must also have a very large wardrobe and closet. I think she may have worn a couple of dresses at least twice. I did see the Queen in a suit type with dress under jacket that she wore once before. I wonder if the royals can wear dresses that are donated from designers? I think it would be the smart thing to do. The designer gets advertisement and the royal gets a free gown.

@Tinkrbl44 And I had no idea about the folded toilet paper!
Although, being the Princess that I am, I'd want it bunched into a paper floret.
That would work for me.

Anyone with snowy hair looks so much better in bright colors rather than pastels and muted colors. Her fuschia, green, and aqua outfits are my favorite. No one in London can wear a hat like she does!

Some of her hats look like UFOs perched on her head. And what has she got in her purse? Could it be a gun?--I've heard she's crack shot.
ETA: has anyone noticed she's wearing brighter colors since Prince Phillip died?

@Katcat1 Kate wears her clothes repeatedly and sometimes will have a dress sleeves removed and shoulders changed out to make it look like a different dress. She wears some of the same boots she wore in college.
