Here is a picture of these pants:

Ordered these in both black and gray. Had to order down one size. I really loved the waistband and the way the pockets were set in on these.

However, the fabric requires a casual shoe (like in the picture).

I could not find a top/jacket to go with that would not make me look like an old "grandma" -- you know what I mean!

I wish for a cute-cut jacket (Almost bomber proportions) to accompany these!

The top above looks cute with them, but I couldn't locate one like it. It would need to be a soft cotton anyway.

We retirees want to look stylish and not "frumpy." Even tho I loved my mom, I don't want to copy the leisure suits of her day!

The top looks like just an ordinary hoodie,  nothing exotic.   Any sort of flat loafer-like shoe could be worn with it.   I believe you're over-thinking this.
