I'm confused with the QVC size guide.  When I look at the QVC size suide.. the measurements for XL and 1X are the same.  I thought they would be different.  Is that the same in department stores??  Or only at QVC?  I thought 1X would be slightly larger.  I need to order a blouse and I was wonderlng which size to order.  I wear a large in Quacker factory pants.  but I'm debating between XL and 1X tops.  THanks

I have found most Quacker tops in the polyester and cotton combo to be generous. I would suggest XL of the two options you posted if that combo is in your top.

I go by the garment measurements chart. That will give you the actual size in inches for each size.

Size guides only suggest a size number for a range of different size bodies. They vary from brand to brand and also vary from store to store.

best way to do this is

find a garment that fits you well

measure the chest at armpit and the length then compare with the "click here" measurements that are the actual garment size you are buying

@ruthbe  Experienced, frequent QVC shoppers never look at that size chart and use the actual garment measurement in the manner described above.

What's nice about this is if one of those sizes has sold out in your ccolor, you can go to the other one.

Most importantly is to know your own body measurements. If you don't own a tape measure then buy one and then either measure your body yourself or have someone measure for you. Write it down

I think the idea is that with regular sizes (through XL), all of the proportions go up from size to size; whereas, with plus sizing (starting with 1x) the shoulder width might be smaller ( because this measurement doesn’t change as a person gains weight -measuring from the pointy bone on top) but the other measurements are more relaxed. I have heard some vendors recommend the 1x over the xl for some people for this reason.
