Lately, QVC's prints have an ugly white backing.  Since the sleeves of all their tops are made for gorillas--sleeves below the knees--you can't roll up the sleeves without that backing rearing its ugly head.  Can't these sleeves be partly lined with the print so they can be rolled up?

Another complaint.  Just because I'm getting fatter doesn't mean I'm getting taller.  In QVC tops' sizing, the larger the size you are, the longer the garment.  Can anyone explain the thinking behind that???  boo.gif

Well I can only speak for myself, but I always check the length of a top. I have a tummy situation that needs to be covered, so I need the extra length.

The practice of grading the length of garments making them longer as the size increases is standard in the industry.  A size 3X bosom takes up more fabric so the length needs to be increased.

Sleeve length is a major issue for me.  I am 5 ft 4.  Sleeves almost always reach to my fingertips for all QVC clothing.  I am not cuffing a garment and creating a 5 inch cuff.  That's ugly and cumbersome.  Having sleeves hemmed is expensive.  I look at the videos for tops.  The models are tall.  If the sleeves are proper length for them then I know they will be way too long for me.

I've complained for a few years now about how the length of the sleeves (on everything) keeps getting longer and longer!  It's downright stupid!

I asked a friend (since she only shops at Kohls and brick and mortar stores) isn't that what they're called (and I only shop QVC) if sleeves are long in stores.  She said recently she's been finding that sleeves are growing there too.

What is it about these sleeves?  Also petite used to mean petite...no longer.  I have clothes from QVC going back since around 2005 and when I put on those pants they fit (length).  Now I have not grown in the length (only in girth back and forth).  I recently bought some pants supposedly petite and had to cut them off 2 1/2 inches (and then put in an 1/8 inch hem!

Who decides these measurements?

I understand the reasoning that extra weight (chest area, e.g.) takes up length, so the garment needs to be longer for larger sizes so it will fit the same, but arms don't grow!  If I get a L it fits perfectly in the sleeves, shoulders and bust, but if it is a tunic the hip area will be too tight.  I then order up a size which is about 4" bigger and that's too much, and the sleeves now come to my fingertips or beyond, shoulders droop, and excess fabric under the arm area could accomodate another bust!

But mostly I just don't get 4" longer on the sleeves when you go up a size for a bit more weight in the mid section.  My arm/sleeve length is the same as when I was a size 4!

Plus sizing with a short body length from the head to the mid torso is uncommon in clothing lines which is why a lot of tops and dresses don't fit in the sleeve length. The gorilla arms I've seen on many tops is ridiculous.

I'm average size and height and pants and sleeves always have to be shortened a bit.

It's just the way things are and I learned to deal with it.  Sleeves I can shorten myself ... pants I prefer to take to tailor to shorten.
